- It was December 2022, as a big dream came true. Since Lufthansa got their first Boeing 747-8, I dreamed to sit there on the first seat, right in the nose of this iconic plane.
When Japan reopened its borders for tourists and released all Covid-measures, I took my chance and booked a flight in Lufthansa's First Class to Tokyo Haneda.
This 12-hours flight from Frankfurt to Tokyo cost me 111.000 Miles and about 300€ of taxes with Miles&More.
The night before my flight, I slept inside an Airport-Hotel to be at the airport really early in the morning. I started my First-Class-Adventure with a visit inside Lufthansa's famous First Class Terminal. Unfortunately, it was really crowded that morning, but then it was time for boarding and I got a ride with a Porsche to my Boeing 747-8.
Yeah, there I was, right in front of these huge engines and this beautiful Jumbo Jet.... I was so excited.

Yeah in case of privacy Lufthansa’s First Class can’t compete with other airlines 😁 It’s really exciting what they will offer in their new Allegris First Class, hopefully the Boeing 747-8 gets also a new cabin 😁

We flew on Lufthansa 747-8 from MIA to FRA a week before Christmas. Economy, but still a nice flight.
Yeah the 747-8 is just a great plane :) Hopefully all of them are getting the new Economy Class during the next years 👍
Hi, i'm flying on the 13th from Brussels to Tokyo with a 1h40 layover in Frankfurt. Is this enough to make it? Did you have any delays or luggage missing? Reviews on Facebook and Instagram are really negatieve so i'm freaking out. Would be thankful to know your experience on this🙏
Hey, if your flight from Brussels is on time, is 1h and 40 minutes more than enough. Your inbound flight from Brussels should arrive at the A-Gates (Schengen) area, the flight to Tokyo normally departs from the B-Gates. There is a tunnel next to Gate A14, which connects the A-, and B-Gates airside, the walk through it takes about 10 minutes. If you arrive at the B-Gates you just need to pass the passport control, there is no second security-control for Schengen flights. All in all, a connection of 30-45 minutes is enough. Yeah, the luggage is difficult in Frankfurt, normally with more than 1 hour in Frankfurt it should reach the other flight but for some safety reasons it's better to put all the important stuff in your hand-luggage. I had no problems with my luggage in Frankfurt, till now 😁

In December transfer in FRA was a total desaster. Long lines at security checks and passport control, no fast lanes were open.
Flight home was 2 weeks ago and still no luggage

I always wonder what everyone thinks is so great about that breakfast. I admit, the scrambled eggs are freshly made. but apart from that there's only cold cuts and muesli. There aren't even some sausages, and I'm not even talking about warm food. There is only that breakfast, even if you arrive at afternoon.
Flying SQ, for example, you can order lobster for breakfast even in business class. what a difference
It's about the comparison with other scrambled eggs during breakfast 😁 I had so many times scrambled eggs on a flight for breakfast and mostly they are so bad... the fresh scrambled eggs are another world and every airline offers something else, but for sure it's not the taste for everyone 😁
The menue changes every 2 months in first class. Btw: the japanese style breakfast offer hot food items, which you might, of course, combine with the western style breakfast.
@@Schrottkralle yes, the menu does change, but only for lunch / dinner. For breakfast there has been no change for years (maybe salmon A to salmon B or cheese A to cheese B)
My first flight in LHs First was in 2016, the breakfast consisted of eggs with bacon, cold cuts and muesli (so same like today). On the flight back home again exactly the same despite arriving at 4pm. So i asked for another option. Answer: Sry, dont have. Me: theres nothing left from dinner? Answer: oh, youre lucky, theres 1 steak left, So I got eggs, cold cuts and some beef. Very first class...
Maybe on flights to Japan they have something whats not on the menu?

das werde ich, leider nicht zu zweit denn leider war mein Reisebegleiter zu langsam mit der Buchung 😢 Es gab wohl nur 2 Meilen Tickets…In der Maschine sind noch 6 Plätze frei…wenn was frei bleibt wird da kurzfristig nochmal ein Meilenticket frei?
@@michaelnagel1990 Ja es gibt nur eine Buchungsklasse für Meilentickets. Wenn der Flug nicht gut gebucht wird und das System vermutet, dass die Plätze nicht verkauft werden können, werden sie für Meilentickets wieder freigegeben. Meist passiert das jedoch erst kurz vor dem Abflug :( Sonst bleibt eigentlich nur die Möglichkeit ein reguläres Ticket in der Business Class zu kaufen und sich mit Meilen auf die Warteliste setzen zu lassen, oder mal bei der Hotline anrufen, manchmal haben die mehr Verfügbarkeiten. Drücke euch die Daumen das es noch klappt 👍
@@thevacationworld danke für deine Antwort und die Einschätzung. Gibts eigentlich die Möglichkeit jemanden aus der C in die First auf einen Drink einzuladen? Gabs in HND eigentlich einen Arrival Service - in BKK wurde ich mal am Flieger abgeholt und bis zum Gepäck begleitet…mit Thai sogar im Buggy😜
@@michaelnagel1990 Kein Thema :) Eine Idee hätte ich vielleicht noch, wenn ihr flexibel im Datum seid, eventuell auf einen früheren oder späteren Tag ausweichen an dem es noch Verfügbarkeiten gibt. Prämientickets müssten eigentlich umbuchbar sein und dann kann die Hotline wenn ihr zusammen anruft vielleicht für euch beide was buchen. Bei meiner Ankunft in Haneda hat uns keiner am Flieger empfangen.. mit SWISS nach Dubai wurden wir sowohl vor dem Flug, als auch nach dem Flug in Empfang genommen und durch den Flughafen begleitet… keine Ahnung wovon es abhängig ist an welchem Flughafen es den Service noch gibt 😁😁
Schöner Film :-) Aber haben die bei Lufthansa jetzt die rote Rose am Sitz auch schon weggespart ? Hat bestimmt mit Sicherheitsaspekten zu tun oder mit Covid (beliebte LH Ausreden für alles ;-) Und der Porsche-Transfer...verbrennt man da immer noch Benzin... ? Wäre sehr sinnvoll dafür Batterie zu nutzen 2022/23. Am MUC war das glaube ich, da hatte LH mal einen Porsche-Panamera für diesen Zweck, einige Jahre ist das schon her, wohl das erste Modell mit Zusatz-Batterieantrieb...aber die fuhren die 100 Meter zum Flugzeug mit Benzin. Auf meine Frage, warum die den Porsche nicht aufladen und mit Strom fahren...oh das macht keinen Sinn der Wagen ist ja ständig in Betrieb. War schon schockierend. Kann auch am Airport Stuttgart gewesen sein.

Yeah you can keep the pyjamas, the amenity kit and the slippers with you 😊
I am not overly fond of the first class on the 747 as it is too open to other passengers.
Yeah, there are other first class seats or suites with more privacy. Hopefully the new first class seat offers much more privacy but for me, seat 1A or 1K offers the most privacy on board the 747 because nobody can walk next to your seat.
nice video but no roses in First! And stupid LH with their polluting 'old' planes (744 and 744 because of their first class...)
Yeah the missing rose was a heartbreaking moment 😪 😁 Maybe some of the new planes like the 777 or some A350 comes with a First Class too.

My impression is that LH operates always the oldest airplanes when I travel with them. Last time to South America it was 15 years old aircraft und the lavatory felt like Bundesbahn

Yeah Lufthansa has still a lot of old planes, like the A340-600 and the 747-400.. we will see during the next years, if they are able to change with new planes 👍
Old age is no excuse for having a dirty carpet. It is the easiest part to replace or at least clean the damn thing. I am an LH senator, so there is no bias here. I love their FC service too!

Ich musste es tatsächlich erst googeln 😁😁 Aber ich muss sagen ich war wirklich sehr vom Service während dem Flug und den netten Flugbegleiterinnen beeindruckt 😊
@@thevacationworld das war auch früher beeindruckend welches Serviceniveau LH bot...und das kombiniert mit Small- Talk untereinander...mein letzter First mit LH war übrigens die 747-400 im Oberdeck das extra Bett...wäre auch heute noch ein "Maßstab"- denke ich...Viel Spaß beim entdecken der Welt- ich bin aus dem "Alter" raus...fliege heute lieber hier mit um die Welt...🤣

Klar bieten andere Airlines eine deutlich bessere Kabine aber ich fand jeden Flug in der First Class von Lufthansa sehr angenehm und als ein schönes Erlebnis 🥂

In my personal opinion, the services provided by Lufthansa are very basic for first class, starting from the first class lounge to the plane, the services in this video are like business class on world class airlines such as Qatar Airlines, SingaporeAir, Qantas, JAL, Korean Air, Asiana, ANA etc. Honestly don't waste your money because I don't think this flight is special.
Disagree. I like the style of the cabin better than Emirates and it looks pretty much like Qatar Airways.
