"Nickelodeon stumbling into the room like a corpse", honestly those words perfectly describe the absolute dumpster fire this brand has become over the last 15 years, especially when you see how CN and Disney Channel have done last decade not counting now.
Cartoon Network has a lot of issues over the past few years, but it started to improve for the better or worse. The only problem that CN have is Discovery Plus.

So the movie theatre I work at has this saying about one of our screens. "Screen 10 is where movies go to die." It's the smallest and oldest screen we have and movies that end up un there are the ones doomed to not do very well in the box office. Paws of Fury was shoved in there on day one and only sells maximum 8 tickets per showing. They tried to switch it with Minions one day, and that was the first day we had 5 people in one of our largest screens and a sold out show in screen 10. We can't force the doom. Screen 10 chooses which movies will die. That's all I know about this movie.

_Paws of Fury_ looks like it tries so hard to become the next Kung Fu Panda, but it's no surprise that it fails spectacularly due to the fact that there are several Kung Fu Panda rip-offs out there. This time, it's just the kid-friendly Blazing Saddles.

Researching the production history of this movie is more interesting than watching it
When I saw the trailer for this movie, I actually did think that the graphical quality made it seem like it was much older movie, so the fact that it spent like 10 years in production hell actually makes a lot of sense.
i hate when they try to present racism with other species, because cats and dogs are *literally* another species (not to say they should be treated badly, that's another can of worms), but still it's not the best metaphor

There's always a problem with allegorical racism leaning closer to racial propaganda than they intended. Like Bright or Zootopia having the oppressed minority actually being a real threat to others or having a history of doing awful things to justify their oppression.
Yeah if they wanted to do racism with animals why not like, it’s a town of sea turtles but everyone hates the main character because he’s a land turtle, or a town of all red cardinals but the main character is a brown cardinal

Also, I saw some rare Promotional/Concept art on the film (when it was still Blazing Samurai) and it was WAY MORE eye catching than the movie itself.
And Blazing Samurai sounds like a much nicer-sounding title

I saw this in the theater with my cousin and brother. At the beginning before the movie even started they played this absolutely disgusting and horrible Big Nate short about this hamster that pooped out more hamsters after being fed something. My brother enjoyed this movie while I was internally screaming and trying to focus on something else, and my cousin kept leaning over and going "I'm so sorry." to me.

Fun fact: en español latino, the movie is called "El perro samurai, la leyenda de cacamucho", which now that i've seen the original title, it baffles me, for my friends here, the title translates to "The samurai dog, the legend of poopymuch" there is no translation of cacamucho as it is a words play that means a lot of sh, but as a 6 year old would say it.
No wonder why cacamucho is a perfect title for this....... Thing

For me…this is a Hot take, but:
If they did this in a 2D hybrid style or just plain 2D, kept some of the humor or toned it down, made it not an obvious comparison to something alike, and just made it a series…instead of rushing the story.
I’m saying this, but I am; it could’ve been at home with some of the other Nickelodeon shows from 2000’s or 2010’s. Idk, I’m just a guy with an opinion.

Actually, the cat on the left (6:34) has an EXCELLENT character design. He's the only character who looks remotely Japanese. In fact he is so freaking cute I want a plushie of him! LOL
I remember seeing the trailer for this in the theaters and thinking “wow the animation is pretty unique. I may consider watching this.” Then after the really neat 2D visuals were over I saw the rest of the trailer and was depressed.
The best thing about this movie is that someone did fan art where the dog accidentally uses a sword to sever his pants and he looks beautiful down there

I went to see a couple movies to the cinema in July, (such as minions and Thor) so I saw the trailers in the commercial break at the beginning. Oh geez, my brother and I couldn’t stop pointing out how damn goofy the movie looked.
Been waiting for a review ever since I saw the trailer and Samuel L Jackson actually being in this
I never thought Nickelodeon made this considering Paramount Pictures has the credit for this one.
With that said, Nickelodeon DID make another movie in 2022 that is actually a banger called Rise of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Movie. If you haven’t watched the series, it’s still pretty solid. If you did, you will have like an amazing experience watching it.
It’s better in EVERY aspect of filmmaking compared to this…uh….movie(?).
Having both Puss In Boots The Last Wish and Paws of Fury which had around a decade of development come out in the same year when you see that DreamWorks did their hardest on Puss makes this film even more embarrassing

Went to the theatre to watch this movie hoping it’ll improve my mood but it made it worse
It was a July morning when I saw the promotional spot for Paws of Fury. I had just grieved my grandmother and went to my cousin's engagement party, so I rightfully needed a break. I don't remember if it was a slip of the thumb or something but all I was able to see was an adorable little kitten named Emiko. Paws of Fury became the next film I had to see, but I waited for it to come out on streaming.

i still remember just seeing not the movie, not the trailer but only the cardboard cutouts that were in the cinema and i already hated it, like i already was dead inside and the trailer just made me dead phisically.

Based on the billboards I was really expecting this to be an animated parody of balls of fury, which was already a parody but it would have probably been more interesting than this.

i think what makes this movie even sadder is the fact several studios went under while making this movie, and after all of it and having a decades worth of time they managed to shit out a movie that literally was a waste of every one of the animators time. like really think hard about how it would feel working on this just to find out the movie tanked and you missed 10 of your daughters birthdays for Paws of Fury the legend of HANK 💀

I think you have the wrong idea about this film. It puts forth many valuable lessons about many pressing and big issues in our modern society in this day and age. It explores many heavy themes such as racism, sexism, inequality, unemployment, alcoholism, drug abuse. It also covers unstable and corrupt governments that care more about themselves than the lives of their citizens. It also touches on other topics such as violence, weapons use and abuse, as well as how people sometimes fail to deal with fame correctly and let it get to their heads. It's truly *a* film, *one of* the movies of 2022.
(I am, of course, joking. Merely jesting. I am being a clown, doing a bit of tomfoolery)

For some reason, I made this movie the first one I reviewed for a video. I find it okay. It’s no Kung Fu Panda or Puss in Boots 2 obviously, but it is still a better modern Nickelodeon film than Wonder Park or Monster Trucks, and I can see this being an ironic cult classic like Barnyard.
I also think Eddie Izzard should have voiced the villain instead, she has one of the best British voices ever.
Please do a video on Ozzy. You're going to love that one.
