    Here’s a rundown of his resume: he’s written for "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" and was the first stand-up comedian to perform on the show. But, it was his breakout performance on the Comedy Central Roast of Donald Trump that really got people talking. Since then, he’s become one of the most sought-after comics on the scene, and has lampooned other celebs like Charlie Sheen and Roseanne Barr. In this video, www.WatchMojo.com heads to Montreal's JFL to speak with Jeselnik about his on-stage persona, the limits of comedy, and his comedic influences. We also chat about the specific rules certain celebs have at Roasts, and what you can and can’t mock.

      Two things. One, that's hilarious how he told the Holocaust joke twice at the same comedy show, just to let the audience know he didn't care. That's classic Jeselnik! 🤣🤣 Two, I hope to God he plowed that hot ass reporter once the cameras went off! 👍🏿👍🏿😁

      Zornbringer, go back and watch Bill Hicks' stuff. There's some funny bits in there, but there's also a fair amount of unfunny prothletising. Saying that Bill Hicks is deep or hilarious is like a silly teenager who just got a book of Jim Morrison's poetry and thinks they're deep. Jim Morrison was a twenty-something alcoholic who died in a bathtub, and Bill Hicks had some good bits, but was an angry guy who favored his anger over being funny. I liked Hicks, but he wasn't the panacea for comedy.

      The problem is its becoming the exception and not the rule. Comedians need to be willing to say whatever they feel is funny. You may not like what they say but other may. And as Patrice O'Neal said: funny or not it all comes from the same place.

      No it is not. No word or phrase is objectively offensive on its own. It's only when we apply our own personal values to them that we then decide if a word or phrase is offensive.
      For example:
      Retarded by itself simply means "To have slowed down or to have been made slower."
      Negro by itself simply means "The color black."
      Faggot by itself simply means "Bungle of sticks."
      See what I mean? At the end of the day, a person chooses to be offended. Offense is never thrust upon them.

    • @MaxAngor

    @The3rdGunman 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    His technique is genius and simple all at once...
    He can do the dark humor because that's not the joke, it's the unexpected punchline.
    The best and simplest comedy is based on the unexpected. Dave Chappelle said that's what even makes a silly old joke like "Why did the chicken cross the road?" funny...because you don't expect an answer as simple as to get to the other side.
    Anthony has mastered that unexpected punchline. He's exactly right the "tension" (or anticipation) with his tyle comes from you don't know where or how far he's going to take it. But his focus is never the subject, in his case the dark humor, it's playing with your expectations of him. Genius.

    Because Actors are reading a script and don't have any connection to the characters they are playing, but a comedian is writing and telling jokes that came from their own mind, so people can argue thats really how they feel, and who they are.
