    Great video! I love to see someone with as much enthusiasm for the band as me.
    I’ve been championing Job For A Cowboy since the Doom EP, when I saw them open for The Black Dahlia Murder alongside The Red Chord and they blew my teenage mind. They’ve been my band since then and I have had some full on arguments in their earlier days, with people regarding the fact that they’re ‘not real metal’ with some of these people admitting that they’ve never even listened to them.
    I remember seeing them supporting Megadeth and a guy that I knew was just dismissing them because of their MySpace reputation and it absolutely blew my mind that people could be so closed minded. Ah well, jokes on them.
    JFAC are death metal titans.

    This comparison may sound like a stretch, but JFAC's evolution and growth can draw parallels to the late Chuck Schuldiner and Death; pioneering a new genre of Metal (Death Metal itself) and later kinda wanting to distance from said genre by becoming more progressive and more musical with each release. Look how different Symbolic and The Sound of Perserverance are to Scream Bloody Gore.

They may have gotten “better” but that’s because its not even the same group of dudes writing these songs. Broooo I was a roadie for sworn enemy on that animosity tour. They took off from high school to do this tour so I'd assume it was one of if not their first tours. The highlight for me was teaching them cee lo which is a street dice game. during one of those games we all huddled around the dice to see the outcome n I won so I threw my hands up in celebration n I snuffed the guitarist of jfac but he was cool about it

    Massive flaw in the early part of the video where you make the comparison between deathcore bands and JFAC.
    You said “We will also compare their sound to other deathcore bands that were around at the time to truly get a grasp for the difference between job for a cowboy and other bands in their scene.”
    That’s all fine. But then you play stuff off the doom EP released in 2005, which is expected, then compare it to “fuck everything” which came out in 2012 and “skin deep” which came out in 2016, a whole 11 years later.
    Why didn’t you compare it to something off of The Cleansing (2007) or Chelsea Grin’s first EP (2008)? Those are much closer to the time period of Doom.
    It feels like you just wanted to trash on deathcore because immediately after your examples you said deathcore sucks. Anything off of The Cleansing of Chelsea’s EP is equally heavy, if not more, than Doom.
    And if you like lyrics about the sun being eviscerated by an alien god more than a simple song saying fuck it just say that. Nobody is acting like Fuck Everything is some poetic shit

    my favorite JFAC is and will probably always be their 2004 demo, and doom.

    im still a huge deathcore and deathmetal fan and dont really understand the hate for deathcore. its fun to listen to ( not the over produced stuff). or is it just neck beards on reddit. because every person ive met in real life sometimes don't even differentiate the 2 genres. is it breakdowns they hate? the vocals? idk

    • @theheaviestshow
      @theheaviestshow  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      TBH it is a lot of neckbeards. But I also highly dislike a lot of deathcore (if it wasn't obvious in the video). It's definitely a lot of fun and has its gems (Nadir by Black Tongue comes to mind) but it's much too formulaic and mostly overproduced to keep my attention or to really captivate me the way a lot of death metal or black metal does

    • @Dynamicsz_
      @Dynamicsz_ 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      oh yes for sure i also prefer the rawness of the older stuff and some modern bands are def over produced. theres a little bit of and old school come back if i could recommend some bands, thus spoke zara thustra, slamwich, liltihs demise, mana tomb, tracheotomy just to name a few. either way i am still newer to deathmetal and tech death so maybe ill get sick of deathcore myself soon haha. I mean you called the entire fan base of deathcore a bunch of emo crybabies lol. That's gatekeepy and not the best way to grow a metal oriented channel. Almost every metal head I know that likes death metal started with deathcore like Whitechapel, Chelsea Grin, early BMTH etc. I'm not offended at all, but I can see some folks immediately clicking off of your channel when you insult them (or their former selves). Deathcore isn't really that different from death metal to most metal heads. One has breakdowns and the other has guitar solos.
