Preach brotha
To me the heaviest album of all time is Monotheist by Celtic Frost.
3:58 I'm 30 years late.is that the same scream from the dillinger escape plan -the mullet burden?
Don’t let the posers suck you in!
Lmao 🤣
Rust in peace best of the time!!!
I understand why you don’t like death core it’s a pretty common accuracy like death core people not liking metal core, to be honest I love every genre of metal and as long as it punches or makes me stank face I’m all good. Nadir is a great album and black tried to make something unique, I understand knowing about when the breakdowns are going to be but honestly I don’t care as long as it’s satisfying that’s all that matters great video bro keep up the awesome work and the banger alert guys are right there is a lot of good death core out right now
Thank you for watching, man!!!! I appreciate the kind words🔥
@@theheaviestshow your welcome
while none of this convinced me I like any of it, I will say some of impending doom especially the oldest material has its merits, but overall.... I am definitely not a fan.
omfg... I now know where the creators of metalocalypse got their primary influence. remove the singer and death sounds exactly like dethklok
Lmao I'm not totally sure about that, but thanks for watching man!
truth be told, these guys have never put out a bad album. JFAC has been one of my favorites since 2007.
It's also goes to show how timeless and heavy Vulgar Display of Power is when you listen to their live stuff. Shit just hits so HARD. Yeah, death metal and black metal back then were pretty heavy but Pantera had the groove and power!
🔥🔥🔥
Still can't stop listening to Moon Healer. What a masterpiece of an album.
Hell yeah dude🔥
Lateralus and Blackwater Park are some of the best. I would also say that I prefer The Way of All Flesh over L'Enfant Sauvage but both albums are masterpieces. Crack the Skye, Blood Mountain and Leviathan are the best Mastodon albums. I prefer Fortress over Kezia but I haven't jammed Kezia in a long time, so maybe I'll change my mind after listening to it again. Awake is also probably my favorite overall Dream Theater album but you can't go wrong with Images and Words. Love seeing Colors on your list and BTBAM is probably the band that I've seen the most. Rivers of Nihil's Where Owls Know My Name and the Work are masterpieces and can't wait for their next album. Check out Black Crown Initiate's Violent Portraits of Doomed Escape if you haven't yet.
Owls and The Work are certified masterpieces, but their new stuff is rubbing me wrong. Hopefully I'm incorrect about it but so far it sounds like glorified deathcore
...And Justice For All is a certified prog metal banger of a masterpiece. Rust in Peace and the Outer Ones and Symbolic are on my list for some of the best prog metal albums ever. Love Focus and I'm really happy that I got to see Cynic play the album in full when they did anniversary tour with Atheist.
Holy BASED The Outer Ones what a banger of an album
@@theheaviestshow 🔥you should've included ObZen by Meshuggah but otherwise, can't argue with the list.
@@ryancadwell1910 I thought about it for sure. I def shoud've included it on the HM at least
Black Tongue is sick. Shadow of Intent is the best current deathcore band. Big Dimmu Borgir and death metal era Testament vibes, so definitely check them out if that's your thing!
Will check em out! Thanks for watching, man!
Ghost are a swedish pop band with a idiot singer that couldent make it in the heavy metal genre, he tried so hard to make it. But instead he started to play pop but tried to make it scary with the slipknot copycat dress up. Im swedish and have followed the metal scene since i was 15 and im 45 now. The west coast gothenburg sound is metal, this is not metal. Also Tobias is a very very evil mtf he dosent pay his band good and he just switches em out if hes not happy with the smallest thing. Hes a dictator that have hybris. Hes more american in his way then swedish so he can stay in US. I would be happy if he became a american citizen so we dont have to talk about him in sweden. Naaaa Ghost is a pop band with a dictator as a singer.
nadir is a 10/10 deathcore albums, one of the best of the genre
Thanks for watching!!!!
Larcenia roe does deathcore correctly. Blows my mind every single time I listen to the new ep
Alright I gotta check em out! Thank you for watching!
Are poserssss

I watched some of your videos about the topic and I always felt like you were criticizing the genre without understanding it. Deathcore for me is like the fast food of metal . Og deathcore bands might look like they are putting in the least possible effort to achieve heaviness, meanwhile tech-death and prog. black and genres like that are the fancy restaurants where every member of the band is a master of their instruments with perfect atmosphere building and lyricism. Sometimes you don't need all that and need a song to release some stress so you start listenning to deatcore, but like when you go to a hidden fast food restaurant and try their hamburger and feel like this is the best thing you ever tasted, it can have moments where they show that they can make this music to perfection. Also, it mixes well with other genres too, so fans of other genres can enjoy it easily, if they put their hatred towards deathcore aside.
Wow, very well said!!! Thank you for watching 💪
@@theheaviestshow Bands that do it perfectly: Fit for an autopsy (every album after absolute hope absolute hell) Shadow of intent (every album) Enterprise earth (Luciferous) The breathing process (Samsara) Makhlvk (1 man Indonesia folk- messcore project releasing mainly singles) My personal favourite: We butter the bread with butter (Das album is my favourite album ever made it has everything I love about metal and music in general and they make it fun. Their earlier work is a parody of everything you hate about deathcore)
@@theheaviestshow Also, about breakdowns being predictable. Just like the guitar solos in classic thrash. In modern deathcore, breakdowns are the solos of the vocalists to show off their most animalistic noises and longest screams. This is not the case every time, but it is easier not to hate them this way.
@@marcellmedvig4166 I definitely agree about the comparisson to thrash solos! Again, I think deathcore vocals (for the most part, not every case) are mostly overproduced and can't be replicated live, and that ruins it for me, personally.
@@theheaviestshow I don't get the can't be played live argument I mean it is true for some bands, but why is it a problem, if it sounds good?
Hot take but you can love music without making it your entire personality.
Please show me your ways, brother. I have no personality outside of metal and I have no friends
I think you don’t like post deathcore, you might enjoy true deathcore. Unfortunately these surface level bands that are most commonly referred to aren’t actually deathcore at all Mental cruelty, Lorna shore, signs of the swarm, all the post deathcore stuff just doesn’t have the essence or feel of deathcore

Metalcore, Deathcore -> Every band sounds the same, has the same boring and plastic production. And of course I don't like the music.
And if one wants something that is really heavy, there is War/Bestial Metal. Deathcore is really, really, extremely soft stuff compared to this. Well of course Deathcore is mainstream music, so it even cannot be as heavy as War Metal and the likes, because then it would be niche too. I also have problem with the loudness war with Deathcore.
He's back, lol. 🤘😅🤘
Thanks for watching, buddy!
I just really do not like the idea of "identifying as a metalhead". It's like, you're going to revolve your entire identity around being a metalhead? It feels so stagnant and lifeless. To be so desperate to preserve the splendor a certain genre of music has given you because you have made it your whole identity is not the kind of mindset I want to be in, or the life I would want to live.
metal is my life I have nothing else please save me oh great based sigma male

Deathcore sucks preach brother yes!! Og dearh metal even goregrind destroys it thank you.
nah goregrind suggs
What's "nuanced" about death metal?
bruh just check out Ulcerate or Disentomb.
lmfao
Nadir is a masterpiece.
straight facts
I also had a hipster-phase in my late teens/early 20s and wrote deathcore off as "gay scene garbage". I've found some appreciation for the genre lately though. Can't say I'm in love with it as a whole but there are some definite gems in there, especially amongst the early stuff. R.I.P. Mitch!
yes sir! Thank you for watching, man!
I was just relistening to "Nadir" the other day and was reminded how incredible it really is. Deathcore has lost me in the last couple years with the insane vocal gymnastics and breakdown-within-a-breakdown formula, but I hold this record as one of my favorite metal albums ever, due to its atmosphere, its use of doom and black metal elements, and its expert songcraft. Some other deathcore records that really speak to me are "Indwell" by Methwitch (maybe one of the most demented albums I've ever heard) and "Välde" by Humanity's Last Breath
hell yeah, I'm going to bang those albums today🔥 Thank you for watching!
If you liked Black Tongue then also check out Humanity's Last Breath and Mirar. Both very experimental and brutal af. Also The Last Ten Seconds of Life are extremely good
Yesss, this!
HLB - Abyssal is so damn underrated. Especially songs like Vånda - simple but incredibly emotionally charged riff = heavy as fuck
@@totalcomputerdependency yesss, Abyssal is a massive album, too. I think their songwriting has gotten better since then, but as you said, Vånda is a colossal song
beautician. This is the second comment recommending HLB. Will check em out
Deathcore definitely isnt what it used to be when it first became popular. Deathcore bands now implement alot of deathmetal elements, while still keeping it groovy and such. nice vid
I mean, old deathcore was death metal with a hardcore punk attitude. Now, it's just symphonic death metal with ridiculous breakdowns that focus less on groove and more on vocal ability.
Thank you for watching!
@@neolbioldey yeh i agree. There are still lots of great deathcore out there that isnt trying to do the whole vocal competition. Im just saying its come a long way.
@@GoodAlexanderVibes some of my favorite deathcore bands nowadays are smaller ones. Thus Spoke Zarathustra, Girl of Glass, VICTIMBLAMED, Lilith's Demise
You should definitely listen to their other albums as well. Although Nadir is nearly perfect the other albums are very good for the same reasons you like Nadir. Black Tongue is my favorite band regardless of genre. Alex is a monster.
I have definitely dove into their other work. Very good material. Thank you for watching!
what i loved about deathcore back in the day is that deathcore was kinda separated from metal and more in touch with hardcore. cuz lets be honest metal fans are virgins
I don't like talking to anyone that listens to only slam death metal and refuses to listen to anything else because 9 times out of 10 they are involuntary celibates
Unfortunately true
Check out Winds of Plague's the great stone war album. One of the best metal albums ever that really inspired pretty much most of the symphonic dearhcore we have now
Will do! Thank you for watching, man!
Nadir is 10/10 👌
11/10 👀
Deathcore and Black Tongue for life 🔥🙌🏽
preach!
Everyone likes to hate on "deathcore", while never mentioning The Acacia Strain. For obvious reasons. It's like hating "metalcore", but you never want to mention Converge. Boxing bands into genres is lame. Just take everything for what it is.
The Acacia Strain is peak.
TBH I cant stand The Acacia Strain...there are much better bands in the genre! But to each their own. Thank so much for watching!
@@theheaviestshowwhen's the last time you saw them? They've gotten wildly better over the last 4 years. I didn't like them early on myself. But my point is that disliking an entire genre is lame. The best bands are always the ones that are hard to describe and label. The lamest bands are always the "purest" ones. It's a problem for punk, black metal, and hardcore especially. When you get rewarded for coloring in the lines it creates a stale scene/music landscape. It's kinda anti-art. I understand needing to explain music with labels sometimes, but I've gotten to the point that I will only ever refer to bands as "heavy" and find other ways to describe their sound if I need to. When you use traditional genres you're applying qualities of some bands to other bands without them and everyone loses basically.
@@Th3ShakeMaster that's also well said. I do agree; I've gotten to the point where I consider everything "metal" and if someone wants to have a deeper discussion on it, I will expand on genres and what not. Thanks for commenting, man!
@@Th3ShakeMaster The Acacia Strain, The Red Chord, The Faceless, and Animosity are, from what I've seen, the "I hate deathcore, but..." bands
This video made me realise I don´t like deathcore.
lmfao based
What do we not like about deathcore?
Mainly the fact that while the music sounds like death metal, it's of a hardcore punk scene.
@@neolbioldey ah, I think I understand
I can't speak for you, but for me its many things. The overproduction and condensing of multiple sounds smooshed together into one. The overuse of breakdowns. The inability of most deathcore vocalists to perform their vocals live. the list goes on! But thank you for watching, regardless
@@theheaviestshow I hear you with the disinterest in multiple sounds put together, and I didn’t know a lot of deathcore vocalists can’t perform live, I personally like the variety of the instrumentals but I know that’s not everyone’s thing.
@@MiasmicBlight I mean, there's a lot of bands that can perform their vocals live, but I guess it looks worse when some of the biggest vocalists in the scene, such as Oli Sykes, Mitch Lucker, and Alex Koehler had their voices deteriorate because of their improper use of it. But hey, death metal isn't exempt from that either. Just look at Chris Barnes.
You were never wrong about death core (in my opinion) but it's nice to see you become a little more open minded about it. I too have let my guard down a little bit on the genre and there are definitely some diamonds in the rough.
haha I appreciate that! There are definitely some absolute BEAST mode bands in the genre...thanks for watching, my man
I Am - eternal steel idk if its deathcore but I think you'd like it
I will check it out!
Possibly the best vid yet on the channel, really dig the writing and editing here I also recommend banger alert, enjoyed the episodes I've listened to This has convinced me to go give deathcore another try soon
Rouge the Bat goon sesh while listening to deathcore incoming
I think you like Nadir for the same reason I do - it's not JUST deathcore. It's much more mature and..while not full out symphonic or orchestral it's definitely not 100% deathcore. It has doom and black elements interwoven sonically while lyrically it's more refined and narrative than the average deathcore blanket "statement" lyrics. I just refer to it as my favorite HEAVY album of all time… irrespective of specific genre.
super well said, man!!!! Thank you very much
Heres why deathcore sucks. Its fucking gay and the riffs are retarded and not in a fun way. It sounds like fucking Dubstep, pays no homage to the genres that initially inspired the first wave of the genre that I will admit is way better and actually sounds like a true fusion of death metal, grindcore, and metalcore as it was intended. What we have now is a commercialized bastardization of extreme metal that was formulated to appeal to your average tourist fuck wit who needs their content spoon fed to them. Wheres the fucking riffs?!?!? At this point its all cookie cutter bullshit stuttery guitar patterns to accent vocal gymnastics. "Ooooooo oooo ooo he did the Blegh thing again ooooooo". Its about as exciting as a pg-13 horror flick without any practical effects. Also like what happened to diving into a genre and exploring other bands and related sub genres? Its like the entire Deathcore "scene" is just dudes who pick like 5 bands and just dick ride that shit. Unimaginative music for effortless people. Disagree? Well suck it!
Not a fan of brutal death then? Or slam lol I assume you didn't realize there were death metal bands that also relied heavily on pig squeals, very clicky drums, and "breakdowns"
Death metal? Never heard of her
Banger alert gang

LETS GOOO! Dude what a hype video! Thanks for recording with us! 🎉🔥
Let's do it again soon my dudes
I personally like deathcore because I think it sounds more brutal than death metal, but that's just me. I never knew what deathcore was until watching a Mr. Incredible becoming a metalhead meme having Chelsea Grin in it. But after listening to Job For A Cowboy, I first thought it was death metal when I Googled it, but after hearing people say it's more deathcore, I started to understand that it was first introduced because of the pig-squealing bree vocals and the brutal guitar riffs. I was more into death metal, but I still think deathcore is more brutal. Other than that, good video man. Glad to see you're back. 🤘🏾
Brutal death metal is a subgenre of death metal with pig squeals and extremely heavy riffs, and slam is a subgenre of that which takes it even further I would say the main distinction between death metal and deathcore is the reliance on single-note breakdowns and influence from metalcore, like having 2-step sections and mosh callouts
@@Sergio-nb4hj Good point. I don't mind slam, but brutal death metal is definitely cooler. Then again, I'm more into edgy shit, so that could be why. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@Sergio-nb4hjI mean, my main problem with slam is the vocals. The gutturals are laughable, and I get that people can appreciate the humor of them, but I just can't enjoy that burping vocal style. That's why I enjoy Suffocation and Devourment and stuff.
I'm 50 years old and a life-long Death Metal and Black Metal fan. But the last few years i have listened to almost nothing but Deathcore. And Nadir is my favourite album of the Genre.
Keep it going for life! Thank you for watching, man
