Aftermarket Crash Bars for the R1200 GS Adventure (Oil-Head) are expensive. Some can cost $600. These were 280 Euro + shipping. I paid 369 Euro for Bars, Bags & Shipping. With the USD & Euro so close right now, it was a fantastic deal. These are built solidly and ship well packed.

Did you keep any of these bikes? You have an extensive “GS Moding” skill, love older GS!

I did sell the 2009 but once the house is remodeled with a brand new garage, I'm considering re-buying some of my older bikes now that they're full depreciated. I can get an oil cooled GS for $3K and I'd like to start doing more professional and polished how to videos for older bikes since it's almost time people start having to do more major restorations. That'll be a couple of years off.

Cheers mate. I was wondering whether to pay £240 for these or £480 for Touratech ones. After seeing this I went full bunker.

Hi Adam... great video and thnks for posting. Do you know if the lowers need to be removed for oil changes and valve adjustments? Thanks! BTW... you are a brave man for hoisting the bike barefoot!

Hello Richard, oil changes no and for valve adjustments, you can if you're tactical enough get them off but it's tight. They're fairly easy to remove one installed.

Great video and a great bike👍 does the heed full bunker include the upper bars or is it just around the cylinders? I am looking for a full set for my 05 gs. Thanks again

Full Bunker is lower (cylinder heads) + Upper bars. They're a little covered up by the Heed bags I have installed.

Is it possible to just install the cylinder crash bars only?
