  • Have you wondered about the Chinese-made AliExpress engine crash bars? They're very reasonably-priced compared to competitors, but are they any good? I decided to investigate by ordering a set and installing on my 2011 BMW R1200R Classic. Here I run through the installation process (they arrived without instructions...) and give my impressions of them.

well done video. These bars seem like they would work well - if in a high speed impact the weak points at the top would most likely be the least of one's problems. very informative.

Ordered after watching this video. Thanks for the clear instructions!
Got them last sunday, put em on; 2 days later i was hit by a car :( They actually saved the engine. The weak spot on top does give first but that does not matter because of the other 2 big bolts holding it all down.

Very nice video, very detailed. Actually if i saw it before purchasing my SW-MOTECH crush bars i would never have purchased them. Besides the reasonable price the fact that you could service your bike without un-installing the bars, unlike the SW-MOTECH, is very important. They look robust enough and very easy to install. Thank you for the video
