Toy Story 3 was released when it did so that people who grew up with the original were at the same time going into to college and thus mirrored Andy going to college. I remember about to go into college and seeing this movie and feeling like letting Woody go spoke to me, a transition of sort. It felt like I was always saying goodbye to woody, saying goodbye to my childhood and moving on

THIS. This is something that sometimes gets forgotten with reactors that do them in order in the span of just weeks. Growing up with the originals and then having this one come out 11 years after TS2, not only improving animation quality and whatnot, but making most of us that grew like Andy, feel like him once again by the time most had moved past playing with toys (let alone at a time in 2010 when most kids were starting to ask for like iPads and smartphones instead of toys) made it all the more hard hitting.

I was 15 when my family and I saw this film. I literally grew up with Pixar and Toy Story. I was born in 1995, the same year that the first Toy Story film premiered.
I also grew up in a Spanish speaking household. So I would watch my movies in Spanish as well. The Latin Spanish dubs are iconic in their own right, and that applies to almost every Pixar film made so far.
With that said, Pixar will always have a near and dear place in my heart. They defined a greatness in my childhood, and now we can pass these stories on to future generations… al infinito y más alla!
On another note, this moment is dedicated to Ned Beatty - the voice of Lotso. July 6, 1937 to June 13, 2021.
And Estelle Harris - the voice of Mrs. Potato Head. April 22nd, 1928 to April 2nd, 2022.

it's a weird trend that nobody in the toy group ever believes in Woody, I guess when they thought Woody pushed Buzz out of the window was the reason they will never trust his word ever.
Lotso has to be one of the most evil villains in PIxar, even after they saved his life he still wanted them to die and I like the small detail when Lotso was making his rant on that every toy is meant to be thrown away his workers all looked at each other probably thinking "we were working with this guy? I didn't know we were all expendable to him" it's a great detail that even in the credits you see all of them help out Ken it really shows how Lotso was truly the evil one as the best way to describe him by Ken "he made us into a pyramid and he put himself on top!"

Something I like about Lotso's backstory is how similar it is to Woody's role in the first film, both being the favourite toys of their respective owners and experiencing a moment of being "replaced". In that regard, he's basically what Woody might have become if he didn't befriend Buzz and undergo all the character development he had in the first two films. He's a great villain in that regard, probably second only to Syndrome in the rankings of "greatest Pixar villain".

I had a lot of toys when I was a boy and I really love them. I totally understand why Woody is so special to Andy. When you play toys, just like playing role-playing. You always have a toy that represent you. At first, you come up a story. Then your toys just like a bunch of actors to play the story. And your favorite toy and you are the leading role of this story. Your favorite toy goes on adventures instead of you and fight instead of you. You ARE your favorite toy and another toys just like your friends or enemies. Andy is lucky. I didn't even get a chance to say bye to my toys, mother just threw them and didn't even ask me before it. The ending scene always make me cry. Maybe I'm just so jealous because of his luck.

As Holden said there are the kids that grew up with the first two and then there was the generation that had Toy Story 3. I loved the first two but this is the first I saw in theaters and I was at an age where I was starting to leave my childhood behind. Graduation was getting closer and as time went on, this movie changed.
When I graduated the movie was a goodbye to my childhood. I watch it today after moving away from home and it’s a goodbye to family. If I have kids who grow up I’ll then see this movie through Woody’s eyes saying goodbye to your kid to go off and do great things. It’s a movie that truly grows with you and works for any age. Not only is it my favorite Toy Story film it’s one of the most influential films I’ve seen!

Like Holden, _Toy Story_ and _Toy Story 2_ were integral pieces of my childhood.
When _Toy Story 3_ released, I was approaching my teens. My mother took me to watch it knowing how much the original movies meant to me. It didn't feel like another movie to me, it felt like catching up with old friends.
Pixar was on a roll in those years. 2007 saw _Ratatouille,_ 2008 saw _WALL•E,_ 2009 saw _Up._ 2010 saw the return of not only _Toy Story,_ but the return of my earliest childhood memories. It was a gift.
I may have the more personal attachment to 1 and 2, but 3 gave me a precious reminder. No matter how much time passes, or what change will come, you will still have a friend in me. These movies are precious to me, as they saw me through the important, formative years of my life. They will continue to do so...
    _To Infinity, and Beyond!_

Andy passing the toys on to the girl made me cry when I saw the film myself, and again just from seeing the bits in this video. I'm 22, watched TS1+2 a lot as a child. I had a Buzz and my brother had a Woody. I had a huge toy story blanket on my bed growing up. The ending of 3 just breaks my every time.

Awesome Video!!! I LOVE THIS MOVIE SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!! It makes Me cry every time Lotso is such a Great Villain He's probably The Most Evil and Diabolical Pixar Villain ever. The Scene in The Incinerator always gives Me Goosebumps it's crazy that people thought The Toys might actually die but that just shows you how Bold Pixar is. And The Scene at The End where Andy gives all of His Toys even Woody to Bonnie and They get to Play Together One Last Time always makes Me Cry. This Movie was The Perfect Conclusion to a Perfect Trilogy and not just One of My Favorite Pixar Movies, But One Of My Favorite Films Of All Time!!!

When I saw this in theaters, when we reached the fire moment, the whole audience was tearing up and you could hear the sniffles throughout the crowd. Then, right as the whole audience was about to reach the peak of sadness, the woman sitting next to us suddenly burst out in a loud cry saying, "I don't know why I care SO much!". At that point, the entire audience was cracking up! LOL. One of my all time favorite moments at a theater. LOL

I remember there's a video out there of someone editting the movie to "end" with a fade to black as they enter the furnace, then playing the "you've got a friend in me" then showing it to their family or whoever who had never seen it. It's pretty hilarious.

This is probably my favorite Toy Story aswell. I remember growing up with the the first 2 movies and having Toy Story toys and then when the 3rd one came out I was also getting ready to go to college, so alot of things just hit me really hard in this and I still have a hard time controlling my emotions at the end whenever I watch it. Which was kind of a problem for a while because my 2 year old wanted to play these non stop lol

Back when this movie started getting tormented, someone made a cute down version where the credits begin where they were holding hands at the incinerator and put it on torrent sites disguised as a normal toy story 3 file.
Somewhere, there exists at least one person who experienced this movie for the first time, thinking they all died

Did you know...that Andy was voiced by the same actor for all of the Toy Story movies? John Morris did the first one when he was 11 and by the time we get to Toy Story 3, he was 26. Great loyalty by the producers to keep the same person behind Andy's persona. It made me appreciate this movie even more.

Toy story was a crazy emotional franchise for some of us who happen to fit perfectly on this time line for 1-3. It was around time some of us were going to college and growing up to be adults leaving childhood, homes and parents behind. Saying goodbye knowing its never going to be same, was done so perfectly capturing our feelings in this movie. This maybe goodbye but its not the end.
