i too love Kate ..... and Amy, for a variety of reasons, their brains are a delight to witness, i am loving them mostest.
Kate looks like the protagonist of some kind of contemporary fantasy series. Like she rides a motorcycle and also could tell you how to harmonize the aethiric portals and then maybe kick your ass, while solving mysteries. IT'S A COOL LOOK IS WHAT I'M GETTING AT!
Plus, unlike a lot of shows that have tried to harness the power, she makes breaking the 4th wall work. Just the subtle "Can you see what I have to put up with?" glance, right down the barrel of the camera.

I'm not sure if the players really noticed what happened down there. They saved Omin's life. Without them he would have died down there as a child.

When the DM writes his own character into the story it is entirely self serving. He owes them only for putting up with his narcissism.

This episode aired live, Thursday November 2nd. AND I AM STILL SHOOK.
Donaar's Divine Smite does 2d8 with a 1st level slot (+1d8 per higher level cast; and of course an extra 1d8 to undead on top of the chosen level of smite), not just a 1d8 as was rolled (iirc). Divine Smite is the life of the paladin and it should be exploited to its fullest.
Yeah I misread my card as being 1d8 with +1d8 per additional level slot. I was trying to burn level one slots.
Ryan Hartman It's all good. Didn't know if it was corrected, but wanted to make sure you got all the damage you could. Donaar's a beast and that was the greatest beast mode.
BTW, Great-Weapon Master + Great-Weapon fighting style + Divine Smite is a sick combo. Might have to try it myself.

As a Cooper Dragonborn, he's resistant to acid damage, unless he has some other magical resistance from an item or something.
I remember him saying that he's immune to poison in an early episode. It might have been a mix up

They blow past a lot of stuff -- they have wands from their first adventure that no one has looked at but they have mentioned them several times. They ignored the giant strings from the sky before skala the second they were past them.

Donaar could have pulled up Walnut without provoking an attack of opportunity [1:45:45]:
"You also don't provoke an opportunity attack when you teleport or when someone or something moves you without using your movement, action, or reaction," PHB, p. 195.

Attacks against stunned creatures have advantage, so Rosie (and everyone) could be hitting a lot harder (or more often, at least).
Also, forced movement doesn't trigger Opportunity Attacks.

Alright, I can't call it a pattern yet, but this is at least the second Lion King reference of the series. I might have missed others...
I know in 3.5, Heavy picks and Great swords were among the favored weapons for Bahamut followers. So keep the heavy pick and and Greatsword rolling, but toss those other weapons aside, Donaar!

Why aren’t they getting advantage when their opponents are stunned or teamed up on?
Kelly Parish team - up advantage is not RAW in 5e, (there is an optional 'Flanking' variant rule though).
They’re forgetting about the stun advantage, and typically the only time you get advantage for a team up in 5e is if you’re a rogue with Sneak Attack or if your character has some other Feat or Feature that gives you advantage when your target is engaged with another creature.
Can someone tell me where Donaar gets all the extra damage on his attacks from?
Paladin Smite-spend a lvl 1 spell slot when you hit with a melee weapon and do +2d8 radiant (3d8 if fiend or undead), higher lvl spell slot adds d8 per lvl above first. Paladin Fighting Style-Great Weapon Fighting = reroll 1s & 2s ( including smites) . Great Weapon Master (feat, Donaar took at lvl 4), can take -5 to hit on. Melee hit and gain +10 damage. The feat also gives an addition attack if you crit or kill a foe (max 1 extra attack/turn)

They're playing 5th edition. That's why nothing makes sense. (Paladin fighting style? A feat that combines the effects of Power Attack and Cleave, but only for 2-handed weapons? "Advantage"? Nonsense.)

Gotta be "that guy" . Donaar's attacks Great weapon master attacks and smites were wrong. You only get the +10 damage if you take a -5 on the attack roll (which would likely make the second attack miss at a 15). Divine smite starts at 2d8 for 1st level slots and adds 1d8 for every level after first to a max of 5d8 so he should have been rolling an extra d8 on every smite he did.
You're correct on the Smite damage die. You are not right on the GWM attack penalty, though. He has a +7 to hit, so that becomes a +2 if he does GWM. That means that 18 became a 20.
Your calculations would have him rolling at -10.
Fair enough, re-watched that bit and I was indeed wrong. He already had the penalty calculated.
I didnt see him double the smite dice on that crit either.
It's okay, it's an honest mistake. Wasn't attacking you or anything. Honestly, I tend to find stuff like this in most D&D games I watch on youtube somehow.

The rules thing that got me was when they said the spiders would get an Opportunity Attack if Donnar pulled Walnut away from it. IIRC, forced movement does not cause Opportunity Attacks.
