Thank you. I am training for masters sprints 45U. I like that these exercises expose the deficiencies I have in my right hip and groin. I already can see that this will help solve those.
i love the other athletic drills video with the same lady in same clothes. How are ur masters sprints going? i was a age champ swimmer in school but back of the pack runner. i think because i have really floppy joints...means good swimmer not so good runner. now im other side of 40 and feel like i want to be a good runner. I'm doing maffetone running whilst i try to get a health back squat...1.2 times body weight for 10 reps. once get the back squat goal do more run specific running. I'd rather do the athletic drills before try to up my weekly milage or do sprint sessions. also id rather master run specific body weight exerices as well before even do the athletic drills. have you come across a good body weight exercise program that primes you as 400m plus runner? i found zercher marches for a week or 2 mean running up a hill was about a third easier....holding the bar in ur elbows wants to collapse ur mid back and first few sessions going heavy felt huge pressure on core muscles below belly button. all the best!!
When you start your warm up, you will be tempted to breathe heavy and quickly. Fight that urge. Control your breath early in any run by breathing in, holding for a sec., and then exhaling in a controlled fashion. Once you have this rhythm with calmness -- while being active -- then resume your normal breathing without holding. Control your breath and never pant. Panting is for quadruped running where the chest stays constricted. When you stand upright, your chest is expanded. Use that form properly.
