Thanks again for having us on the podcast!
Most people think I'm crazy with I tell them automatic transmission fluid is the best additive for diesel engines it doesn't gum up its high derget oil I've ran it for years and yes I have worked for gm for 15 plus years
What do you add the transmission oil to?
Dmax store found an electric gremlin on my truck that 3 different shops could not diagnose. Top notch place and awesome products.
Thanks Chris! Glad we were able to get your truck back on the road and thanks for taking your truck all the way up to us, I know that is not a short drive for you.
Great informative video! Always appreciate! Thanks Diesel Podcast and Dmaxstore! LMM Running great! 🤠🏁🛠💨
Great PodCast!
As the happy owner of a 2021 L5P it is nice to hear form these guys and that it is proving to be an excellent engine. I did a lot of research for almost 2 years prior to buying my Chevrolet 3500HD. The CP4 was an absolute deal killer for me on the Ford 6.7 (one among several other issues and Fords history with the 6.0 and 6.4's). The RAM was a no go for its 68RFE and Clunky shifting Asian transmissions. Then when RAM went to a CP4 in 2019 and some 2020's I lost all confidence in that company and the decisions they make.
Turns out I actually live in the same area (about 6 miles) from the Dmax Store. I have never been there or known about them until now. I will certainly check them out soon.
Thank you!
Thanks for listening!
Had my LB7 in their shop to get injectors changed and do a water pump. I wouldn't trust any other shop, they are top notch!
Thanks Joshua!
Happy with my 13 lml too,the only problems I've had with the truck was the emissions, got that junk off and egr cooler at 21,000 miles, never had a problem again with truck, most reliable and fun truck to drive I've ever had, might keep it forever
I love my lml one of the best duramax platform I ever have had minus the emissions
Thank you for the Diesel content. Ive listened to every single one. Not brand loyal just trying to learn.
I am happy with my 16 LML zero issue 235k miles made money for every mile traveled in it
I’m interested in using Total Seal rings in my next rebuild in a modified Toyota 1kD-FTV (3.0L 4 cylinder) 4x4, 220 wheel HP. 512Nm.
Could you do an interview with these guys and include their recommendations regarding break in procedure up to how many kilometers/miles?
Cheers.
I added S&B air intake, FASS lift pump, deep trans pan, stainless exhaust, EFI Live, CP3 Conversion, Danville Performance Turbo, on my 370,000 mile 2014 LML. I did the majority of the upgrades at 50,000 miles
Sounds like a good set up!
I like having led foot diesel on just cuz he isnt biased.
Rareparts makes good steering parts for the Duramax trucks too.
You should run additives every tank! And a good one like hotshots or similar. It does no good treating your fuel system only once in a while. Your fuel system can never get enough lubrication especially with the low sulfur diesel nowadays
Modern diesels are designed to run on low sulfur diesel fuel
@@EPA3not cp4s
Could you have someone on to talk about the 3.0 Duramax?
trash timing setup half the engine half the life
I've got an lb7 I'm selling right now. 04 black cateye s400 64mm turbo Exergy Sportsman CP3, good Injectors, stage 5 1300+hp capable trans
L5P Dave’s auto and banks…..crankshaft pins are sheering off and engine is shot!!!!…come on big news here!!!!
How dare you skip the lmm
If you run an AMSOIL ByPass System and top Amsoil’s you can definitely go 10-15k on oil. My uncle and I both do that with our diesel he’s got a Cummins and I have a Duramax.
We do oil analysis as well to make sure things are going well.
Side note my uncle runs 17kLBS on his trailer most days for work.
Just my thoughts.
Lots of getting low Def sensor
Ill preface this with i love my LB7s BUT just changing injector cups is a bad idea those kits that hold them down are a bandaid at best because the core heads floating around now have been re worked so many times that the injector cup bores are erroded around the tip of the cup and theres no fixing that the permanent solution is the new freedom racing cupless heads my high HP lb7 it blew a head gasket i was pushing it really had i wasnt mad i knew it was coming but youd have to be a moron not to buy the brand new freedom racing heads when you do head gaskets and head studs on an LB7 i wont even do the work on a truck if a customer isnt willing to do it the right way because i have to know at the end of the day that i fixed their truck permanently
If injectors are a yr old and thinking about getting after head gasket early do I need to replace injectors again when doing heads, studs and gaskets? Where's your shop?
@Kevin-midmichigan no you're misunderstanding what I'm saying if you are doing head gaskets already then just buy the freedom racing cupless heads rather than paying a machine shop to work the old heads no core $1,100 bucks the issue is all the core heads floating around out there many have been machined and rebuilt a time or 2 by now and there's a high likelihood that the part of the head where the injector cup tip seals in the head is eroded that's why fleece/freedom came out with the cupless heads there was a segment on the podcast where they broke it down well
@Kevin-midmichigan I'm in georgia I do work for one single dealership only and occasionally friends I quit working for the public about 8 years ago me and the guy who owns the dealership get along great never has a cross word with the man and he doesn't question my work if I say it needs to be done he approves it working with the public is hard if I gave the advice I did in my first comment to someone from the public there's a high likelihood they think I'm trying to upsell them and the fact of it is I'm just absolutely not willing to do half ass work and I got tired of that I understand alot of people aren't in a financial position to do things right sometimes but then they get mad when you refuse to do a repair you don't feel you can stand behind
No one mentioned the lml having a crank made of glass.
The transfer case chains waiting through the case.
The LLY torque converters that slip with almost any power adder.
Whaaaaaaat! The Diesel Podcast only talking about the 1 same diesel engine they always talk about?!?!?! No way! How have you NOT talked about EVERY SINGLE issue with the Duramax platform yet? And when will this show change its name to D🍆Max Podcast?
If you check our episode playlists since 2016, we’ve actually talked more about Cummins. Powerstroke is a close second, and third is Duramax.
Dan Steeley you def have an old 24v and kiss your sister
Instead of watching is and crying, why don’t you just go watch something else?
lbz u mean lb7 the lbzs die unless u delete them and that illegal
Best way to fix any issues with a duramax is to sell that pile of shit and buy something else.
They all break. I like Cummins because it's the easiest to work on.
I’ve had all 3 major brands. So far the only one I haven’t had a serious issue with is my GMC. All three brands are essentially the same.
Yep we found the ford guy who bought the 6.0 or 6.4 lol
