I vote for the 5.9 but I am biased, I own one.
I own a 6.7 and I'll say thr 5.9 common rail is my absolute favorite. The best feeling low end. The one I drove had mods that were unknown to me however. Just a different ass end than my 6.7l at 380 horse
Chris helped me with the setup in my truck! Runs so great!
I bought an 07’ 5.9 Stage 2 Sun Coast Billet Transmission, with 100k miles on the clock to tow an 18k pound RV. While I waited for my 100k 2024 F350 to be built. I loved that truck!!! It was hard to let it go but I do like the new Ford.
I would really like to hear from someone at 76 in regards to their R99 renewable diesel. I’ve heard really promising things about it and there’s very little information on TH-cam. Just Diesels did a good video about it, but it was more of a comparison between standard #2, R99, R95 renewable and biodiesel. Supposed to be cleaner burning, Less soot, fewer regns.
I wish all these guys pushing cummins to the limits would make TH-cam videos like Josh. Just the videos help grow and progress the rest of the sport tremendously.
You guys are still pups! My stock 02 ram does everything i need it to do. But, if i had plenty of money i would be chasing that 3000hp and I'm 70 years old!
Ill agree on the 800 hp thing too. Theres a big problem when you cant stretch somethings legs out.
I love the Cummins .. I have/had several all 12v engines ..I live in Nova Scotia .. My personal is a 1998 12v short bed , 2002 sport front end .. my brother painted it a beautiful base/clear blue .. Over the last 2 years I built a 1997 12v truck .. I used some Texas parts , I put a cab off a 1999 quad cab brother painted base/clear bright green ..It's going to be for sale ...
Totally my luck, but one of the worst ones ive had was a 06 5.9 mega, second was a 05 6.0. Previous owner based for me
15:20 The big dilemma. Buy new and hope the manufacturer will honor their warranty, and hope they built the truck right to begin with. OR buy used, own it, find one completely stock hopefully, or one that has mild upgrades. Or it was maintained and has had many of the failures that can go wrong addressed already. It's always a gamble finding one for the right price that isn't rotten underneath, frame, bed, bed mounts, floors, cab mounts etc.
Deleted tuned 6.7 cummins #1 period
The last Cummins 5.9 H.O. pre-emissions is my pick,2003 I think.
Isn’t that 2007
I think that on the 5.9 it depends on where the vehicle was sold when new. I'm a retired trucker and I bought a 2007 Freightliner with a 14 liter Detroit Series 60 thinking that I wouldn't have any emissions related issues because it wasn't a re-gen motor, only to learn that it had an overly-complicated turbo with an EGR valve and a Vpod that was a nightmare.@@dcheynerl
@@dcheynerl2003 didn’t have EGR, regen exhaust, but the 2007 does.
@@davidbottles3035 not really true. The 2007 with the 5.9 does not have an EGR/DPF system. The 6.7 does. If it was built after January 1 2007 it has a 6.7 with emissions. If it was built before Jan 1 it has a 5.9 with no emissions.
@@joetate8563 you are correct, 2007 6.7 was a mid year model change.
Keep it local so we can go Loko 😜. Texas Diesel baby! Let's you in on with ondgas and freddylsx🙏🏽
I bought a 4th gen but i always say i would jave gotten a 5.9 common rail if i had 5.9 common sense.
With our technology any tune any engine build I will give an additional 20%+ HP and more!
I have owned 4 diesel trucks from all 3 manufacturers.. Favorite was my 05 Ford 6.0.. and my least favorite was my 05 Ford 6.0.. The thing was such a blast to drive.. Sounded Amazing.. Was such an awesome truck.. The problem was keeping it running and draining my wallet.. I bought it slightly used in late 07, and people just didn't know how to properly keep them running and tuning caused a lot of issues.. After selling it in 2011, I went to Cummins and had a blast with it, but after going thru 2 transmissions, I went back to an 04 6.0 and there was waaay more knowledge about the 6.0 by 2016.. I still own it today, and I only drive it a couple thousand miles a year, and don't ever plan to sell it..
Its hard to trust shops anymore
