I don't think it was on the 12th, I am pretty sure President Bush went to ground zero a few days after 9/11 but who didn't cheer when that rescue worker yelled "I can't hear you" and President Bush replied "I can hear you! I can hear you, the rest of the world can hear you, and the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon!"
Considering the current climate we live in we need to remember stuff like that and stay united. We are just full of hate and anger now and with our own country. It’s sad. Real sad. We used to be united but have split once again.
I still remember about all those passengers. Who decided to take things into their own hands. They stood up for they believed in. My prayers to all the families who lost loved ones.
I was 21 when it happened, and I lost my Great Aunt, she was on the 82nd floor of tower 2. When this song first came out, it floored me and still brings a tear to my eyes.
I think if we thought for ourselves instead of listening to talking heads on the 24 hour news stations we'd do better. I'm way old enough to remember when newscasters told us the news, now you just hear their opinion of what's happening.. When they told the news of the sixties, showed pictures of the Civil Rights Marchers getting attacked by dogs or having fire hoses turned on them, I was a kid but I could see that was wrong. I know there was segregation in KY but it ended right after I was born, or @ least in Eastern KY mountains. I've seen White Only sign in my lifr. So when I was a kid & saw those signs @ places in deeper south on TV I knew it was wrong & questioned my parents.. I'm not going to write this over, I was saying I'd never seen a White Only sign in my life..I had good parents who taught me to treat others as I want to be treated.
I can never not cry when hearing this song, losing so many people in such a senseless tragic way. And worse, how quickly we lapsed into the status quo afterwards. We have forgotten those we lost, if we hadn't we would still be united. 🙁🇺🇸
It really wasn't that long ago that we as a country were united. It is possible and shouldn't take a tragedy. Let's cut each other some slack and realize were all just human beings! !!
I definitely remember where I was. I was in my 12th year in the Navy. We were on pre deployment leave . I was about to head back to my Ship in San Diego. When I saw it on the news.. I was due to head back 4 days after this happened. I was called told get back to San Diego ASAP. Since there were no air flights for a few days. I had to get a rental car and get there. I got pulled over for speeding in Airizona, when the trooper saw my ID he gave me a police escort to the Cali state line. The security getting back on Navsta San Diego was very strict. Had to walk from Main gate all the way to Pier 7. Trust me that a long walk with a full sea bag. Right away before even shipping out we were extended. Those first few weeks out at sea was pretty intense.
I was in my 4th year in the Navy, was walking through the mess deck on USS Theodore Roosevelt, a couple of guys went running through and were talking about it. We were unable to leave the ship for a few days, we thought we would deploy immediately. Luckily we deployed on our scheduled date of Sept. 19th, since the majority on board were not prepared for deployment a week before the scheduled date. We spent the next 159 days straight at sea launching planes. Was my first deployment, I can still remember it like it was yesterday.
Love you brother. The greatest is love indeed. I'm white, conservative, God fearing and respect everyone. People should never judge another based on race or nationality and hold it in a negative light. People should see the heart, the God given soul that resides in each of us. Let's all go out everyday and do some good. Jesus Christ love and bless us all until He comes again.
21 days later i quit my job as a long distance Truck driver and joined the Army! My “Battle Buddy” was a black guy from Alabama & we served together through the war and we brought each other home from that hell hole! & thanks to videos like this!
I am in my sixties and remember this like it was yesterday. This song was so important to our healing. MOST of us cried, reached out to strangers, ran to our families and the blood bank. Very few did only one of the things mentioned in this song, if any. This is a reminder that we are one, and we need this Love Now more than then. Let us not wait until another national heartbreak before we reach out to each other.
This song makes me cry every time! I pray for our country too. Like our pledge says, we should be one nation, INDIVISIBLE, with liberty and justice for ALL! ❤️🇺🇸🙏
I was 15 in my 10th grade art class...my teacher was a Navy vet and he said this is a day you will never forget. You will never forget what you were doing, where you were, or how you felt. He then explained what was happening and turned on the news. He was right.
My son woke me after the first plane hit. I watched the second one hit live. I was panicked, devastated for the sight of it all. I remembered when the Cold War was happening and the drills we participated in, in school. Cover your necks, get under the desks. On 9/11, I thought “ Here it is, Armageddon !” We just started praying.
This song by the great Alan Jackson should be on everyone’s playlist. It captures the shock, disbelief, pain, anger, fear, confusion that we initially felt on that September day and the many ways we reacted and coped with what had happened. I called my Mom to tell her I love her and gave blood in hopes I was making any kind of a difference. The fact that heartfelt songs like this are crafted so eloquently and cherished by fans of Country music is why I love Country.
One of my favourite songs and always makes me cry 😭 I was around 7 as well but I don’t have any memories of when it happened except from what my mum tells me now.
He did this song for the first time on stage at the Country Music Awards. He was just sitting in a stool singing this song, and the entire audience was so quiet. When he finished the song, he got a standing ovation. He perfectly captured how most of us felt that day and afterwards. This song came from the heart.
I would like to say this!! Alan Jackson is one of the greatest songwriters in America!! To be able to write this song in the very, very short time after this tragedy. And to capture just about every single feeling and emotion that all of us were feeling is absolutely remarkable!!!! But also remember Daryll Worley's "Have You Forgotten" I can listen to either one of those songs and it still absolutely moves me!!! It is also one of the reasons why I Love Country Music!! But I also love all different kinds of music!! "GOD BLESS AMERICA"
As I listened to your story and saw your reaction to the song, I began crying. I am sick at the state of our nation today, and I agree with what you said. We need to pull together and stop the hatefulness and anger . I pray everyday for us all ! God bless you JB!
I've been a deputy sheriff for 25 years and never felt that the work we do was appreciated until that day. Now, I don't do this job to hear " Thank you" but, every person we met on the streets after September 11th told us thank you and be careful out there. Every race, every age, every background, everyone was together. I agree with you. I wish people would follow the golden rule. God bless America !
Agreed, September 12th was the most amazing day. I remember strangers hugging in the street. Color did not matter, just that we were moving on. I remember feeling so united....
The first time I heard this song, I was driving from Albuquerque, NM, where my husband was stationed in the Air Force, to Wichita Falls, Tx to see family. I literally had to pull over on the side of the road because I was just crying so hard. It took me about 30 minutes to get myself back together. I've never had a song effect me like that.
Amen, we are still one family and families fight. But you attack America you attack us all. Deep down we love each other and WE LOVE OUR COUNTRY. GOD BLESS ALL
I was 21... my grandfather was a truck driver and he was out of state hauling catfish. He called, told me to get his checkbook and go fill all the gas cans he had in his shop and buy up canned food... my small town had the longest lines for gas I've ever seen. It felt like the world was broken. Also... you're so authentic and open about how you feel, and that's awesome.
Great reaction as always. This video reminds us why we should honor our flag. We should do so in thanks for all the men in women who serve this country both here and abroad and to honor those who died doing so. Our country came together after this tragedy in a way that I had never seen. Race and politics didn't devide us because for too short of time we were Americans first. I pray we can get there again but without the tragedy. This nation's greatest resource are her people and together there is nothing we can't accomplish.
Willie Harrison, he wrote the song October 28, 2001, several weeks after the attacks, because he couldn’t find the words (though he did know while watching the news on 9/11 that he wanted to write one).
He actually woke up with the words, "Where were you when the world stopped turning", and wrote the entire song in 21 minutes! AMAZING SONG 🙏🙏 🙏🙏 🙏 Praise the Lord, and praise Alan Jackson for hearing the Lord's voice that night!!
I remember watching when Alan Jackson (AJ) sang this for the first time. It was on an awards show not too long after 9-11. It was almost like someone put a big Band Aid over our hurt! He wasn't going to record it because he didn't want people to think he was just trying to "jump on the bandwagon" or take advantage of the situation. Thankfully his wife and others close to him said, "no, people need to hear this. He has always given God the credit for it and is actually uncomfortable with the attention it brought to him. There's a video of him singing it in Rockefeller Center 5 years later, so emotional. September 13th, 2019 I went to his concert. He still sings it in his concerts because his fans want it! When it starts most folks are on their feet, holding up cellphone flashlights, swaying and singing along for the entire song! 😥😐😊
My motto to life is One race One blood One love There is only one race, the human race There is only one blood, we all bleed red There should only be one love, love everyone as one.

Does it really matter if they have more or less pigment? Honestly, I thought it had more to do with the fact someone doesn't like you because of different opinion and want you dead.
I will never forget!!! I was in medical school in Miami and September 12th was a beautiful beautiful day!!!!!! I can still close my eyes and see people lined up and down US1 waving flags and cars honking in support as they passed by the Patriots. We should be living EVERY DAY as if it were September 12th.
Son you might not be able to change the world, the be true to yourself answer that big heart of yours. It's very rare that you can lead the bull by the horns, but you can lead by example. you might not be able to save them all but you'll be able to save some in your life. As my grandmother would say, just keep looking up, and God will take care of it.
From your lips to God's ear!!! You are a very sweet,, and intelligent young man. Keep up the good work, and may God bless you are your loved ones!!!!!! Much love from Beaumont Tx.
I HAVE HEARD THIS SONG I COULDN'T EVEN TRY TO ESTIMATE HOW MANY TIMES... BUT TODAY LISTENING TO IT AND SEEING YOUR REACTION IN YOUR FACE AND IN YOUR EYES, IT'S LIKE I HEARD IT FOR THE FIRST TIME WITH YOU. YOU CAN'T FAKE WHAT YOUR EYES AND HEART WERE SAYING AND FEELING MY FRIEND... THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS...
I was there only two blocks away we should never forget. Thanks for the song .it's hard to explain how a young person like you appreciating this song means so much to me
Dang... a scared to death little seven year old... that really struck me. I never thought about how terrifying it would have been to be a little kid when it happened. God Bless.
It was even worse being a kid in a town with a nuclear powerplant in our back yard. We did daily drills. We were on the top 10 watch list for multiple years.
I remember being at work and hearing about it...bits and pieces. I am a Canadian and once I got home turned on CNN and sat staring at the TV for the next 8-10 hours in shock and disbelief. Our 2 countries have a unique relationship and every Canadian heart was with you that day. Still get a chill when I see the New York skyline in movies and TV shows that were made before then. A very sad day indeed. ❤️❤️🇨🇦
We may fight among ourselves but God help the enemy that makes us come together,we are unstoppable when united. As a grown woman with a son that was a veteran I collapsed and cried for weeks until my son made me turn off the TV,he told me,"Mom,I trust God,you do too."I can only imagine how frightened you were as a little kid.God bless you and I too wish we could all remember we are members of the human race and love each other .
My husband is a Disabled Army Veteran that was in 27 years and did 7 tours to the Middle East. We will never forget what we were doing that day. I completely agree with the message in this song. Sadly, there are SO many that were either too young or not even born when this awful day happened. These are the ones that say we are wrong for fighting.
I remember the fear and uncertainty that day, I went and got my kids from school, I needed them close and in my sight that day this song takes me back to that day and still gives me goosebumps, a very true and powerful song still over 20 years later 😢
The togetherness that was alive in that sad time was really impactful! It’s one of those times, you never forget where you were and what you were doing. You as a young man have been raised really well because the compassion that you show is that of usually someone a little more mature. I really enjoyed hearing you speaking about the video and also your memory of that day, thank you!🙏🏻God Bless America🇺🇸
Thank you for saying that. The greatest thing we have is love. We need to spread love, as a nation not hate. I love your wise words. Many blessings to you.
As a firefighter and a military family. I would like to say thank you. Your right as well when it comes to the separation that is going on. We need to always be united and be there for one another. Keep up the great work brother and be safe.
Try to find the commercial of the Clydesdale horses bowing at the site of the the towers, ,they were across from the site of the downed towers. It's amazing
I was 15 when this happened. I grew up on 90s country music. So I'm a big fan of Alan Jackson, this was the first song of his that threw me. Taking what everyone was feeling and putting it into words the way he did.
16 years since this song came out , I've listened to it countless number of times and I still can't get through this song without tears flowing down my face and I hope I never do.
Thank you young man ! Hearing what you said about you wanting to see this Nation come together without all of the hate and division no matter what it is ! You give this old 66 year old veteran hope for this Naion ! It's young people like you that are the ones that can help others to come together both old and young alike ! Thank you for giving me hope once again !
I am not a country music fan by any means but this song will always stand out to me. I don’t listen to it often because it makes me emotional but when I do talk about shivers down my spine.
Blessed you are. very sad song . thanks for sharing. Remember innocent people go to heven. The wicked one already mad there bed . Remember. Live long. Be strong. There is an after life. If we do gods will . love to you all.
This song has really good insights into the the feelings most of us had that terrible day. “In a crowded room did you feel alone? That line really hits hard.
I'm sobbing my heart out, I couldn't believe what I was seeing on the television. I was at home, never forget it. Later when I watched documentaries I was screaming in tear's to the fire fighter's and all the lost Soul's not to go in. Beautiful song. ❤️ 🇬🇧
I was 19 years old and had just had my first born son 2 weeks prior. Living in SC at the time however, born and raised in NY. I sat on my bed watching morning TV as the show I was watching immediately switched to the live broadcast as the 2nd plane flew into the North Tower. I absolutely LOST it! I had no clue what just happened, my mind couldn’t comprehend what my eyes just saw! I just cried and cried. As I held my tiny baby boy and watching smoke billowing from the WTC’s, I knew this was going to leave a gigantic scar on the soul of this country’s people. Along with a massive visible wound in the heart of NYC. I know I will never be the same, nor will all affected by this senseless, unproductive, cruel, infuriating and heart wrenching act displayed upon us.
We are not as divided as the news claims. Love is still alive in the USA.

What a great song. Beautiful. Thanks for taking it on.
You lead the bull by the harns. But can lead them by the balls if you squeeze. Them hard enough. 💪✊👍
From your lips to God's ear!!! You are a very sweet,, and intelligent young man. Keep up the good work, and may God bless you are your loved ones!!!!!! Much love from Beaumont Tx.
Thank you for playing and reacting to this. So many souls lost.
But no forgotten.
You are a precious and beautiful soul, fearfully and wonderfully made. Love from a Grandma 😘❤️
I was there only two blocks away we should never forget. Thanks for the song .it's hard to explain how a young person like you appreciating this song means so much to me
Dang... a scared to death little seven year old... that really struck me. I never thought about how terrifying it would have been to be a little kid when it happened. God Bless.
I was ten. The fear was real. I have never been on a plane and hate to be near a building more than a few floors up.
@@kellylewis6060 wow, I'm so sorry. That's a terrible legacy to live with.
It was even worse being a kid in a town with a nuclear powerplant in our back yard. We did daily drills. We were on the top 10 watch list for multiple years.
@@MikeJones-v4h damn!
Im 29 now and i still have a fear when i hear a plane near my town
This song always brings me to tears. I can't believe it's been 17 years.
Don't you wish everyone could feel like this song makes you feel..all the time. That was a perfect song choice..love to you
I remember being at work and hearing about it...bits and pieces. ❤️❤️🇨🇦
It's cool your listening to one of my fave country singers Alan Jackson like that song.
Like your reaction
We may fight among ourselves but God help the enemy that makes us come together,we are unstoppable when united. As a grown woman with a son that was a veteran I collapsed and cried for weeks until my son made me turn off the TV,he told me,"Mom,I trust God,you do too."I can only imagine how frightened you were as a little kid.God bless you and I too wish we could all remember we are members of the human race and love each other .
Maxine McClurd , you have a wise son! Thank you for sharing that!
This song always gives me goosebumps.. That day is burned in memory.
I remember the fear and uncertainty that day, I went and got my kids from school, I needed them close and in my sight that day this song takes me back to that day and still gives me goosebumps, a very true and powerful song still over 20 years later 😢
Another good one is Toby Keith’s “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue”!
Shelly Marquez definitely
American soldier is pretty good as well by Toby Keith

Darryl Worley "Have you Forgotten"
I say yes to all of those songs!
GOD BLESS you man. Great Reaction Video. Love the way you think about these songs and in general.
I love Alan Jackson
Ok, that song hurt, I have a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes.
Bless you solger. Keep it real. 💪🕆
I was a new young mom. I hugged my baby hoping he would get the chance to live and love...
This still gets to me! This country really needs to remember and feel love again
One of the most important song ever...Alan's authenticity and emotions gave us all some help to get through this time.
Beautiful reaction and much love to you!!! I'm sick of the media trying to tear us apart!
Bless you young man. It does an old lady’s heart so good to see today’s generation talking about loving each other as Jesus commanded us to.
You are a beautiful young man. Wonderful soul.
Thank you for such a thoughtful heartfelt response. I pray that we all learn to love one another.
I still cry, I am crying now! I like how you want us to join together, because that is what God wants for us!
Powerful song. Powerful reaction - your facial expressions as you let the song run, uninterrupted, said all that needed to be said.
I agree my friend! Praying for the divisiveness to end! God bless you!
16 years since this song came out , I've listened to it countless number of times and I still can't get through this song without tears flowing down my face and I hope I never do.
I love this!!! We will never forget! I love how we all came together as people afterwards and helped people no matter what color etc! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Jb need more people like you that like the old music
This song brings me to tears every time I hear it. God bless those who were lost and praying for the comfort of those left behind
Such a beautiful & heartbreaking tribute. 💔 😢 Love & prayers 🙏💖
God bless you for your thoughts about America today. Yes, we need to love and respect each other every day, not just when we have a tragedy.

I'm with you brother! The greatest is love. 1 love. Race is not important humanity is... ❤❤❤
Thank you. I agree with you.
Here we are in 2020 needing this message more than ever. Alan J did a great job on this one. Peace, health & love, everyone.
Alan Jackson wrote this in one night.. to me it's an anthem to that day. Thank you Alan
Ohh i love Alan Jackson. Thanks for this memory.
And the greatest is LOVE. United we stand. Divided we fall. No more division!
Our country was so beautifully united. We could have done anything. We need that kind of passion now.
One nation under God, indivisible...
Love your honest reaction videos. Please don't stop.
Most of us feel the same way. Thank you! for playing this. The greatest is love - of all people.
Thanks much for this reaction. And what a great attitude you have.
You've passed on the best of us. Be proud of it. Thank you.
I'm sobbing my heart out, I couldn't believe what I was seeing on the television. I was at home, never forget it. Later when I watched documentaries I was screaming in tear's to the fire fighter's and all the lost Soul's not to go in. Beautiful song. ❤️ 🇬🇧
Amazing just amazing...
Amen . For the sing and for all . And give this man some love . Thanks for video
