I am nothing more than an old American Veteran. My struggles have been no greater than any other American. At 73 I am in the final days of my life. I have met a foe that cannot be defeated. That foe is Cancer. The same foe that defeats millions, and never looks back. I am NOT posting this for sympathy....sympathy is not a cure. I am posting this to simply say, I have never been more proud to be an American. That pride has never wavered. I thank my fellow Patriots who are still out there protecting my family. GOD BLESS THEM.
Mr. Edward, I can not thank you enough for your service. I will keep both you and your family in my prayers, cancer makes me want to use a lot of 4 letter words. However, I will not. (but I will think them.) sending lots of love and hugs from OKC.
You are the reason we love our country. Selfless warriors are the backbone of who we are as a nation. Thank you for your service and the brave way you are dealing with your illness. You have my prayers and respect.
Dr Otto Warburg in 1931 won the Nobel laureate for doing a study showing that no disease can survive in an alkaline environment. Even Cancer so drink alkaline water see if it help best of luck and God Bless thank you for your service and go spit in the grim reapers eye and tell him not today
My best friend was killed in Iraq miss him every day. Sad for the life he never got to live but so thankful for his commitment to all Americans. We need to do better by these soldiers ❤️🇺🇸

Over the last 16 years I have worked for an airline and I can remember that 1st flight I worked. The day before the manager came to me asked me to work the flight. The day of My team was ready. Until we saw the family and the honor guards come for the flight to meet it. That’s when it hit us !!! I it to work the flight like all the others but as you start removing the HERO and you stand there watching the honor guard carry them to the car with the American flag on the coffin you just can’t stop yourself from crying knowing someone has paid the price for you to be safe and free. A lot of us wrote a letter like this before going into combat. If we came back, fine, if we didn't the letter was mailed back home to our kin by our buddies. I cannot watch this without crying because I mailed far too many of these letters home from Vietnam.
Those who disrespect our flag have never been handed a folded up one. They’ve never had to write or mail one of those letters that you mentioned. They have never experienced the cost of the freedom that they have. Just being able to spout their nonsense was paid for by the blood of soldiers who were willing to give everything for others. ❤️
My Mother wrote one when she enlisted in the Marines during Vietnam because her DI warned her she might one day have to because the even in Okinawa where she was stationed was considered a possibility for death. I've seen the unsent letter with my own eyes. My Mother was partially paralyzed due to her service during Vietnam and I understand just how close she was to dying.
I cry like a baby every time I hear any of these songs that pertain to our military, not because I am a mother of a soldier but because my heart aches for the mother and father of a soldier, for the sister or brother of a soldier, for a wife or husband of a soldier, for a child of a soldier, because that soldier represents the freedoms that we have and most so carelessly take for granted. May God’s Grace and Mercy bring peace to all who have sacrificed their lives for the good of mankind 🙏
@@timmcgraw9951 May God bless you for this beautiful, heart-wrenching song. We all very much need to be reminded of all those precious lives sacrificed for our freedom in this land of America. Thank you, sir.
Same here. I know how it is to be apart of Military Family as my Grandpa was Army, My Dad was(is) a Marine, my brother was Army. Also community service as my dad (was) and brother (is) a firefighter an put their lives online everyday. I cry so much when listening to patriotic songs. This song my dad wants at his wake as he's not gonna be around much longer. I don't think he'll make it to Christmas 22' as he has COPD, emphysema an Dr's at VA won't put him on oxygen yet even though it's 81-83 which is very low just for sitting down. Anyway sry for rant just got stuff off my chest. So again sry
It breaks my heart to see and hear such disrespect for our Military today. It brings me to tears when I see people burning the flag spitting on the flag stomping on the flag this is not acceptable. The men and women in the Military died for our freedom and this is what they get so sad.Thank you for viewing Tim McGraws song your reaction is so genuine God bless you
My dad did a few tours in Vietnam and when my brother asked him wasn't he angry about people burning the flag etc he said he didn't like it but he fought for their right to do it
The Vietnam War was in my living room every night. It went from a popular War to a hated War. Mothers, Fathers, Sisters, and Brothers were among the Americans who protested the war. Draft Eligible Men burned their draft cards. People protested in the streets and held sit ins. American citizens protested by burning the flag. You can hate burning the flag but it delivered a powerful message to the United States Government. Burning the flag help close the Vietnam War.
Well said!!! If you see any of our military, don't pass the chance to thank them for their service. I do my best to pick up their check if I see them in a restaurant. We need to do everything for military!!!!!

If you haven’t seen a movie called “Taking Chance” with Kevin Bacon, you should find it! It’s a beautiful movie where he plays a Marine and he must travel home with the body in the casket of a fallen young soldier. It’s all the stuff he routinely goes through without a second thought because of honor. It’s wonderful! Enjoy! God bless🙏
That movie is so powerful. I cried. I was in the Navy and did a forensic photographer billet and it made the war so much more real. It was very sad to be taken photos of the guys’ autopsies: they were so young. ☹️
I'm a proud American girl. My ancestors were the Scot-Irish settlers of the Appalachian mountains. The for front of the turn of the revolutionary war ( battle at kings mountain) my resent DNA analysis says I am more Scottish than anything. Whether Scot or Irish. Fight, pray, drink. Not always in that order.
Crying copious amounts of tears... I can hear taps playing and the gun salute... *Mother of a Special ops and an officer *Daughter of a veteran *Sister of a Navy Seal
As someone who did 23 years of service to my country in uniform, you sir have shown more patriotism in your reactions than millions here in this country show in a lifetime. They take everything for granted, bash the service members and decry everything about this country as a flaw. Great reactions!!!!!

I served 7 years in the US Army, including a year in Iraq (1st Cav during OIF II), and this song, along with Trace Adkins' "Arlington" and Toby Keith's "American Soldier" just hit home more than you can ever be prepared for, even as a Veteran.
Both my grandfathers, my uncle, my nephew and a cousin were military. They all made it home though my uncle lost his leg during D-Day. I never heard any of them make a single complaint about anything. I lost both my grandfathers when I was young and within two years of each other. I was raised to respect our military and our veterans. I make a point of when I see anyone in uniform to thank them for their service. This song always make me cry and reminds me of the ultimate sacrifice some of them and their families make to keep the rest of us safe. I want to thank all the military personnel, both active and retired, as well as their family members who may see this. Thank you for your service and sacrifice without it things would be much different. I for one am immensely grateful for you!
You should Arlington in about five hours, we honor our fallen. Each and every grave has been marked with a Flag, they started working on it four days ago. In five hours (dawn) there will be a twenty one gun salute and then the playing of Taps.

Sometimes people say we don't belong in certain countries but when your allies call for your help how can you turn that down I don't think no one could because I know I would want those people to be just as free and as safe as we are. I don't think no one could just sit back and watch one country try to take over another country.
@@NOBODY-fz3im I know things look bad here in America right now because there is a handful of people that are spreading lies about the government wanting to take guns away from American's but that's not true and people are standing up against that lie. Just because most people won't a few rules like instead of getting a handgun in 10 days we need to wait 14 days just to make sure there is a full background check on the person that is buying the gun. Just like at one of the school shootings if the man who did the killings would have had to wait 14 days they would have gotten the background check in time to know what a bad person he really was and the things he did in the past but the background check had came 3 days too late to stop him. I'm no there are people in other countries who would love to see America go down but that will not happen because at the end of the day we all know how lucky we are to live in this great country. Just let something happened to our country and you will see how fast we pull together. Just like we did on 9/11! The biggest thing I am proud of when it comes to America is how fast we pull together to help our allies because I know there are horrific things happening in other country that we can't even imagine. We should never take America for granted because we do live in a great country.
Tomorrow is Memorial Day 2021. If you tell a veteran thank you for your service, we will respond in kind by thanking you for your kindness. However tomorrow is set aside just for those who paid the ultimate price. That is something that the veterans you are thinking for their service have not done. We live on as a living reminder of what they have done, even for us the veterans who came home alive. On special days of the year such as the 4th of July and veterans Day I wear my Vietnam veteran hat with pride. However tomorrow I will not wear it with pride, I will wear it with humble reverence for all my brothers and sisters who came home rightfully draped in the American flag. They have earned the right to be covered in Glory, Old Glory! 🇺🇲
@@NOBODY-fz3im or burn our flags in the street! It’s disgusting to watch. The people that gave their life for your freedom so you can burn the flag in response. This makes me cry every time I hear it, it breaks my heart and it fills me with pride all at the same time. USAF Vet here, served in the Base Honor Guard as an additional duty and it was one of the best and most moving things I've ever experienced. "To Honor With Dignity." Then I hear songs like this, "Angel Flight," "Where Were You," "All Gave Some, Some Gave All," etc., and someone starts cutting onions. That flag that drapes the coffins of the departed flies proudly in my yard everyday, weather-permitting.
This song is really hitting harder after we just lost my 27 year old cousin to a training mission disaster. I loved this song since I first heard it but now I cant listen without breaking down. One of the best songs I've ever heard.
This song really gets me. Every time. All the military ones do since my husband joined many years ago now and I became a mother. Feeling it more right now as my husband just told me yesterday that their unit is likely deploying next year. Feels like he just got home from the last one.
Crying over here....ashamed to say this is my first reaction as well to this beautifully written and sung song 💗🕊️🙏. GOD BLESS ALL that fight past present and future in all countries 🤴🌈
Thank you so much for your reactions! Your pride in our freedom shows like a beacon. I feel I have a special friend in Scotland. I served in the U.S.Navy during the Vietnam War, so much of this I feel pride in what you show us. By the way my mothers side of my family came from Ireland.
From A Vietnam Veteran's Daughter, i will never forget what my dad and so many others went through for our freedom. I am very Proud of what my dad did for our country. I miss him everyday he has been gone for the last two years. Thank you all that have served are serving and will serve.
Thank you so much for reacting to this! SO fitting for our Memorial Day weekend - honoring those that have given their lives for our freedom. God bless you.
It's Memorial Day in the USA. I have no words adequate to express my respect, admiration and love, for every single soldier who bravely fought for their country. This song breaks my heart every time. Love and eternal respect for every soldier and each of their families. Let's all pause today and remember the bravest of the brave.
If a song can bring a smile to your face or a tear to your eyes, then the writer and singer have done their job to leave a lasting memory in your soul you will always remember. Great song and video.
This was my biggest fear everything my father was deployed. I was always afraid that we would get told that we wouldn't see him again. RIP to all the fallen that payed the ultimate price for our freedom
Thanks for listening to this. My brother was wounded in Iraq. He survived but has physical disabilities. He loves our country and would volunteer again Thanks for your service
My dad was in special forces in Vietnam! What he saw and did - changed him forever! Families sacrifice so much even when soldiers return home! We lost him 2020 and I miss him every day😢. So glad he and my mom raised us to be proud patriotic Americans!!!
These songs always bring up a duality of emotions. The absolute love I have for my country, and gratitude towards those who died so I could live free, and then the absolute DISGUST I feel towards the people who are trying to tear my nation down from the inside with fake woke, fake news, cancel culture, CRT, and Defund the Police "movement". You know something has gone wrong when people who don't even live here are more patriotic than the people who do. Thanks for the videos Don! Keep them coming.
Disgust for a draft dodger dictator wannabe and his mindless sheep followers trying to tear down my country I served and was wounded 2 times defending!
My great-grandparents immigrated from Scotland. Their two sons were drafted for WW2. One died on the beach at Normandy, one was struck down by a sniper a few months later. On Memorial Day, I like to play both American songs and Flowers o' the Forest for them.
This is a made video. The performance was from "The Academy of Country Music Awards" at the end, standing behind Tim and his band were at least 100 family members of fallen soldiers. It truly was a beautiful performance.
This song always makes me cry. I was 10 when my grandpa passed away. His wake was about 8-10 hours. I have never seen so many veterans pay tribute to him. A couple of the veterans came up to me because my grandpa always talked about me to them. I miss him everyday.
I was at that live performance it was absolutely beautiful. He brought the families of fallen soldiers onto the stage and it was a heavy moment but perfect
I appreciate you so much for appreciating our music, our country, our people and our veterans. My cousin died in Iraq in 2007 defending our country after 9/11. Our family also went through this hard loss. My pap (whos family is from Scotland) served in our Navy. I am one of the MANY proud Americans! 🇺🇸💕🍻
This song makes me cry every time I hear it. Thank you for your reaction to it on Memorial Day. Another powerful song is I drive your truck by Lee Brice. At my dad's funeral I jerked a little every time the guns sounded for the twenty one gun salute. Taps is still hard to listen to because it's the ending of the service. Mom always said everyone knew during World War II a soilder died in the line of duty when the Western Union delivery man came to someone's house or a black car with military personnel. They would get a gold star to display in the window. God bless all the troops world over. Thank you

This is a great song and appreciate you taking the time to listen to it. I am from Greenhill Alabama and had a friend from school killed in Afghanistan. Jason Isbell wrote a song I think you would really enjoy about him called " dress blues ". His name was Matthew Conley he was in the Marine Corp training his replacement he was coming home in a couple of weeks finishing his tour when an AID exploded his humvee killing him. He also had a child that was about to be born and was excited to get to be home for it before tragedy happened. I also want to thank you for the support of our men and women in uniform. You are more of a patriot to this country than many that live here. I am afraid this country is falling downward at a rapid pace and we must wake up before it is to late. GOD BLESS. One more song you will love is " GOD WE NEED YOU NOW " by struggleJennings. .
Wow, talk about a tearjerker! As a vet, I want to say thank you to all who laid down their lives and those who are somewhere in between (traumatic injuries, etc.).
I can't ever help but notice how much emotion you have on your face. You feel it as someone who has served and has the utmost respect for those that have been lost, no matter where or when. Thank you for having such a strong sense of heart for others and for being so selfless. Much respect.
It makes me so sad to know people are so willing to give up their freedoms so many gave their lives to protect. They don't understand what it means to be American.
A point of fact, that some people do know, Tim McGraw only released this song as a live version. However, he did include it as a secret track on an album. He did this because he didn't want to make a profit from the song. Mad respect.
This is the first time hearing this song. Wow! the lyrics, the visuals, brought on the tears for sure. For my late FIL who did 4 tours of Nam. He's buried in a local Military Cemetery as we're in a Military town. Thanks for sharing. Thanks to all the Military for your service and yours and your families sacrifices.
Every time I see you respond to these videos about military and soldiers, I have noticed that you truly can connect with these songs. I'm sure you have known some who have made these sacrifices and remember them through these songs and videos. Thank you for your service for your country!
Love that you let the whole video play and then react to it. Others that do reactions that stop it throughout often miss important parts. Well done man

This version (minus the graphics) is (I believe) the 2007 ACM awards version that he performed for the first time (live) in May of 2007. He wrote the song a few weeks prior, I believe. We were two weeks from the end of our rotation that month when my friend Larry came into the TOC and said "You have to see this" to myself, the boss and the CSM. That immediately became the song for the memorial service for our fallen brothers once we got back to New York the following month. Every time I hear it I think of that tour and Kevin Edgin, Aaron Griner and Scotty Cole. Vires Montesque Vincimus!

In my moms final days of dying from breast cancer, she wrote on the last page of her journal “I’m going home”. This song always reminds me of finding that journal and reading those words a year later. 12 years since she’s passed and I can only hope that she made it to that home and is at peace and pain free.
Great patriotic song, George Jones also had one called "50,000 Names Carved in the wall". Donna Fargo "US of A" ; Lee Greenwood "God bless the USA" ; and Loretta Lynn "Dear Uncle Sam".
omg I'm crying :'(.....as an American I appreciate the respect you show for our country. My husband deployed to Iraq a few times and this song is too hard for him to listen to. He lost several friends there and they are never forgotten
Brother in arms, I appreciate your heartfelt feeling for all loss in the cause of freedom. the song was not just an American feeling, because all of our allies have felt the same loss. God bless all who champion freedom. And thank you for being honest with your emotions.
My father is color guard and is part of the Kansas fire fighter casket team. I've attended many of these events. Being part of the line between west borough baptists and the family. Watching a procession of 50+ flags and motorbikes. Seeing my father in his FD blues. The feeling you have right now is palpable at these events but it's also a celebration of life. Revving engines after the final formalities.

@@timmcgraw9951 May God bless you for this beautiful, heart-wrenching song. We all very much need to be reminded of all those precious lives sacrificed for our freedom in this land of America. Thank you, sir.
I agree with you. My heart just breaks for every mom, dad, spouse, child of a lost soldier.
This exactly!!!
What is strange is that I'm not seeing anything like you are describing. I am a marine vet, and you're not telling the truth to people!!!
We are the land of the free because of the brave. My thanks to all who defend this great country-American and Allies. God bless you all!

I'm an Army veteran and you don't know what that means to hear you say that!! Thank you for your Patriotism!! It means the World to a few of us. Especially when you're sitting in a wheelchair with "disabled veteran" tags on your car

Enjoy! God bless🙏
I had said this earlier to him also. I am a US Marine Vet. and Man that Movie say's it all. Kevin bacon Nailed it.
It's a beautiful movie ❤
Marine Vietnam Era vet here. Not ashamed to say that “Taking Chance” really got to me.
Well worth the watch.
That movie is so powerful. I cried. I was in the Navy and did a forensic photographer billet and it made the war so much more real. It was very sad to be taken photos of the guys’ autopsies: they were so young. ☹️

It's a shame you are more patriotic than alot of Americans. As a veteran this song hits me hard. Thank you for your reaction.

As a vet, thank you
I'm a proud American girl. My ancestors were the Scot-Irish settlers of the Appalachian mountains. As someone who did 23 years of service to my country in uniform, you sir have shown more patriotism in your reactions than millions here in this country show in a lifetime. They take everything for granted, bash the service members and decry everything about this country as a flaw. Great reactions!!!!!
Man this was such a tear jerker. I was crying listening to this.
P.S. I love how you do videos on the U.S. military might, so please review and react to more of those videos.

Yes, we are blessed to live in this wonderful place
Welcome home and thank you for your service. You are quite right about the meaning of the day.
And I thank you for your service and willingness to be one of the chosen. God bless you

This makes me cry every time I hear it, it breaks my heart and it fills me with pride all at the same time. USAF Vet here, served in the Base Honor Guard as an additional duty and it was one of the best and most moving things I've ever experienced. "To Honor With Dignity."
Then I hear songs like this, "Angel Flight," "Where Were You," "All Gave Some, Some Gave All," etc., and someone starts cutting onions.
That flag that drapes the coffins of the departed flies proudly in my yard everyday, weather-permitting.
An other song that will get you is "Riding with Private Malone" defiantly a worth to listen too.
I agree. That song always makes me cry and is so beautiful.
I was just gonna suggest that one.
It was my first favorite country song
This song is really hitting harder after we just lost my 27 year old cousin to a training mission disaster. I loved this song since I first heard it but now I cant listen without breaking down. One of the best songs I've ever heard.
Since this is Memorial Day weekend, this video means so much to me. Thank you for posting.
My pleasure Lew. Appreciate your support
Also, "Letters from home"
By John Michael Montgomery.
Tears and more tears Tim sings a great song with an even greater message God bless and give peace to the fallen and their families
That got me good. Cried like a baby. God bless our brave men and women from all countries.
All I can do is cry!!! Hits home harder than any sledgehammer ever could!!!
I didnt know til now you served

If a song can bring a smile to your face or a tear to your eyes, then
the writer and singer have done their job to leave a lasting memory in
your soul you will always remember. Great song and video.
I played this the other day on the 4th of july on my guitar and couldnt help but tear up while singing it. It gets me every time.
So many great songs about our Fallen Warriors, each brings tears to the eyes, and sorrow to our hearts,
Thank you for these and reacting to them.
Watching this on Memorial Day. I can barely see the screen through the tears. Thank you to our service members for their ultimate sacrifice.
I was at that live performance it was absolutely beautiful. He brought the families of fallen soldiers onto the stage and it was a heavy moment but perfect
I'm crying listening to this God bless all the ones who didn't come back ty I'm 80 and I'm still thanking them
I have listened to this song for years and no matter how many times I listen to it I can't get through it without crying.
First time hearing this. OMG..
Powerful song! I'm crying.
Whew.....God bless America...Protect our brave troops...
Beautiful song, still brings tears to my eyes!❤️🇺🇸✌🏻
Thank you for your reaction and thank you so much for your service. I love our British brothers like, well, brothers. Cheers.
Thank you

I never heard this POWERFUL....ty for your respect, heartfelt reaction." Freedom isn't Free" 🙏
GOD BLESS. One more song you will love is " GOD WE NEED YOU NOW " by struggleJennings. .
This song brings tears every time.
I've heard this song so many times but this video has me in tears! 😭😭
Wow, talk about a tearjerker! As a vet, I want to say thank you to all who laid down their lives and those who are somewhere in between (traumatic injuries, etc.).
Montgomery Gentry.."Didn't I" about how we mistreat our veterans...literally has me crying every time
I can't ever help but notice how much emotion you have on your face.
We aren’t in the same country but I will say thank you for your service

First time I’ve heard this song ....I’m crying. I do love your reactions !!!!
This is a tear jerker and not only for military but anyone who puts their lives on the line for us.

It has been such a pleasure binge watching your videos this morning... I seriously can't seem to stop. Thank you so much for playing these patriotic songs. I love my red, white, and blue blood. These songs are favorites of mine; confirms my pride and makes my soul weep, and now others who are not familiar can feel it also..❤
This song is so beautiful and sad. I cry everytime I hear it. Not even being to meet his unborn child. So many lives were lost.

I never heard that song or ever saw that video, made me cry.
