Darth Sidious is without a doubt one of the greatest villains in all of fiction. Forget for a moment his obvious psychopathic nature and evil and dig a little deeper, Sidious embodies the most extreme form of individualism of a person who will not let the restraints or established principles of society curb his own ambition to elevate himself to glory and greatness, his ambition, intelligence, implacability, ruthlessness, drive and determination is what makes him inspiring to those around him and he appeals to what we all desire to some extent to break the chains that bind us. Sidious is a testament to how old and tired methods make people disillusioned and allow charismatic characters like himself to exploit this disillusionment in order to wipe away old establishments and start afresh, he is the perfect villain.

In every way, Palpatine is a stand in for Satan. He is the great manipulator, the tempter, the corrupter. He plays on people's emotions, manipulates them to his designs. He has no empathy, no remorse, no loyalty. Even the Sith are nothing more than a means to an end to him. He works only for himself. And that's what makes him such a fantastic villain.
Actually the whole "The day of Revenge, the day of the Sith" was in Palpatine's message of returning to the Galaxy after his alleged demise three decades before...
@@EpaminondastheGreat lets be honest. Sidious was the only aswome part of this steaming pile of shit movie and they should let him win this time. Than a new triology could rise where a secret small jedi order tries to bring back democracy and peace in an 1000 year old war torn sith empire once proclaimed by the Sithari himself. Only with hints from the past via Holocrons where they learn what Sidious really did and that the republic was an far better place than the empire
This might be your best work yet. The Plagueis audiobook is filled with excellent quotes and frankly, he is an impressive and interesting character. A grey Sith, dedicated to the goals of the order not out of ego but out of a belief in change. That he can fix all the rot and corruption in the galaxy by bringing it into the control of the Sith. He believes that he can bring the Sith into a new era, without need for internal strife, where every Sith rules eternal. And that book became so much better when Palpatine entered the story, and bit by bit it shifted to him. Bit by bit as Plagueis immersed himself in his studes, and left Sidious to rule and to finally study those ancient texts he had been warned against. Truly, the death of Darth Plagueis was a tragedy for himself, for the Sith and for the Galaxy.

I don't think alot of people really give Ian McDiarmid enough credit. Outside of just being Star Wars' take on the Devil, much like Kevin Spacey in The Usual Suspects, I think his ability to play the most kindly and almost humble old man to ever live whilst radiating such darkness is a trick few actors can really attest to.
The Plagueis novel is not only my favourite Star Wars book of all time, but my favourite political thriller of all time. I have no idea how a man like James Luceno can write such a masterpiece and then never be the main brain behind any Star Wars content again.
I love where you decide to place your text, it almost always enhances the effect for me. My favorite is when Sidious says “pawn” you place the word directly beneath anakin as he marches on the Jedi Temple. It’s a small thing because the text is technically referring to Plagueis, Anakin is Sidious greater triumph. Making your master your pawn, that’s one thing, making the messiah your pawn? Now that’s something far more… insidious.
Have caught myself watching this several times a day for the past week or so. For some odd reason gives me chills and motivates me. Sidious's journey to Emperor and Sithari, ruthless it might be but motivating. Kudos to you Dudu, may the force be with you.
"You useless old fool! You were nothing more than a pawn in a game played by a genuine master" - Palpatine "Don't flatter yourself, you were never even a player" - Azula
Seeing the almost saintly visage of Yoda referred to as “dead weight” is just so tastefully villainous, and more eloquent than can or need be articulated. For all his moral authority and incredible power, it takes an even sharper, more cunning , and prodigiously elegant perspective to so scathingly and rightfully write one of the greatest follies amongst gods in literature, and to do so with the artful eloquence of a genuine master. Palpatine is almost a karmic force -the merciless consequence of ignorance, the inevitable punishment of weakness, the universal judgement of aquiescence, and the cosmic accusation of dogma. Behold the greatest villain in literature.
I just rewatched your "Democracy" video and was so happy to see that you uploaded something new and it was a great joy to watch! Palpatine/Sidious will always be my favourite star wars character - right next to Thrawn.

"[A]nd the Republic has become the very evil we've been fighting to destroy." Followed by Plagueis, "Evil, what is that?" Just noticed you had him answer the prior statement. Amazing editing dudu sir!
Wow! I have another video of yours in my liked video playlist and I just found it agin and though I watch another one of yours and this is just unbelievable good, got chills. - Marado Evall
No DuDu tribute is complete without a lesson from the Lady of Betrayal, and as per usual, the timing of Kreia’s words here were perfect. Not a huge fan of the music used in the second half of this one, it just didn’t seem... insidious enough to capture the essence of the subject character. Also, the placement of text on the screen diminished the visual integrity of the images/scenes being played across the screen, and personally I found that it distracted from the spoken dialogue instead of complementing it very well. I’m glad you’re experimenting with new style, and look forward to seeing whatever you produce in the future. You’re still one of the Star Wars tribute greats (alongside Darth Porg and HFP), but those are my (admittedly amature) thoughts on this video. May the Force serve you well, Lord Dudu.

He plays on people's emotions, manipulates them to his designs. He has no empathy, no remorse, no loyalty. Even the Sith are nothing more than a means to an end to him. He works only for himself.
And that's what makes him such a fantastic villain.
@@Killzoneguy117 and he literally convinced everyone he didn’t exist 🤯
This captured just how incredible and cunning sideous was perfectly
The fact that there's no resurrected sequel Sidious in this makes me very happy.
Actually the whole "The day of Revenge, the day of the Sith" was in Palpatine's message of returning to the Galaxy after his alleged demise three decades before...
Actually he is in the video
@@EpaminondastheGreat lets be honest. Sidious was the only aswome part of this steaming pile of shit movie and they should let him win this time.
Than a new triology could rise where a secret small jedi order tries to bring back democracy and peace in an 1000 year old war torn sith empire once proclaimed by the Sithari himself.
Only with hints from the past via Holocrons where they learn what Sidious really did and that the republic was an far better place than the empire
@@Zozo806 Yeah that would actually be compelling, but Disney, or rather Kennedy-aligned Lucasfilm, isn't that smart.

I'm reading it now
sounds like Plagueis was a better, gooder type of Sith - which ironically made him the only type of Sith lax & forgiving enough to not notice the warning signs of an apprentice like Sideous & to be foolish enough to teach him
@@SutekhChroma Wrong. He was an overly arrogant moron who made the mistake of thinking HE, and overly ambitious and conniving Sith, could possibly train an Apprentice who would view him as an equal. He made the same mistake he mocks Tenebrous for in the beginning

Wow I didn't expect this many likes thank you to all. And I'm honored to have the film himself like my comment keep up the good work and may the force be with you.
Plagueis is so underrated and Sidious was a goddamn chess master.
Glad to see you back, Dudu!
The production value is rising, like the numbers of battle droids on naboo!
This is a Sidious, a beautiful hideous, pice of true art.
As always, DuduFilm never disappoints.
It’s amazing the similarities between these “stories”, and what’s going on in this country and the world at the moment.

This was the ultimate Sidious tribute. Absolutely fantastic
Good but Bane is the sith ari. It is no debate
“Evil? What is that? ...You said you were death itself. Are you evil, then, or are you simply stronger and more awake than others? Who gives more shape to sentient history: the good, who adhere to the tried and true, or those who seek to rouse beings from their stupor and lead them to glory? A storm you are, but a much needed one, to wash away the old and complacent and prune the galaxy of deadweight."

This was honestly beautifully terrifying. “The Sith will have had their revenge, and I… will rule… the galaxy.” Chills.

@rejvaik That was fire. 🔥🔥🔥
Just bought the book I really love sidious. His ambition and drive is something to learn from
I started screaming like crazy. He has returned ✨
Im SOOO hyper right now! After a thousand years, Dudufilm has uploaded again!

_"Welcome home"_
So this is how the video ends.... with thunderous applause. Yet another masterpiece.
The day has come my brothers and sisters our Master has return and together we shall save this world from this madness
We need a Sidious movie with Plagueis. I think Tom Hiddleston should be young Palpatine! It would be cool to end the movie around Phantom Menace.
Brother i love this video. Because of this i listened to the darth plagueis audiobook. The lines from it you picked are just perfect😘👌
Cuties wouldn't be a thing if Palpatine was our Emperor.
ISB, open up!
The Senate does not approve of such horrors
Awesome name, Alive.....awesome (and relevant)
Inefficient Democracy wouldn't be a thing if Palpatine was our Emperor. Ave Palpatine!
@Lord Admiral Spire yup
Plagueis' voice is so good. I hope when they bring him back in some sort of show or movie this guy comes back to voice him.
The music, scene selection, and audio overlays are so on point @DuduFilm. This… this is what perfection looks like
This gave me goosebumps. SIDIOUS is by far my favourite character and that video was just awesome
Woah the second part is just mind blowing. It is perfect in balance of music, voice lines and and video itself. Pure perfection
Chills and shivers. 12th time here and still got chills. You are a legend.
I listen to this everyday and I still get chills from it. Truly a masterpiece.
Truly shows why Sidious is such an excellent villain
DuduFilm: uploads a new video
Me: I sense a presence, a presence I haven't felt since... Master?!
Never has a character made me feel both dread, and admiration like Darth Sidious has. Sith ambition indeed, is Great and Terrible.
Honestly when you show the intensity of the Battle of Geonosis and the word "game" pops up - that has so many subtle layers to it. Love it!
Incredible.
Time to update palps on your channel?
Didn’t expect to see you here, legend!
Have caught myself watching this several times a day for the past week or so. For some odd reason gives me chills and motivates me. Sidious's journey to Emperor and Sithari, ruthless it might be but motivating. Kudos to you Dudu, may the force be with you.
A serviceable tribute to the uncontested most powerful Sith of all time, well done.
"You useless old fool! You were nothing more than a pawn in a game played by a genuine master" - Palpatine
"Don't flatter yourself, you were never even a player" - Azula
You just gave me an idea for another story my friend
@John joseph Corona what this for?
Palpatine is a demon and she is a brat. What is smoke compared to the inferno that is Darth Sidious heir of Bane and Adas.
Palpatine is almost a karmic force -the merciless consequence of ignorance, the inevitable punishment of weakness, the universal judgement of
aquiescence, and the cosmic accusation of dogma. Behold the greatest villain in literature.
ou have released this film just a day after I have finished reading Darth Plagueis. I am speachless. This is so amaizing.
"You will make every attempt to appease me, so appease me sidious" this is a phenomenally well done video!
i love how Plagueis says Sidious is a murderer and you see him with a small smile 2:37
Big smile
What a wonderful day to be alive.
Oh no I'm not brave enough for politics.
Your best one yet. Absolutely thrilling to watch. I don't know how you have the vision for these, but each one is better than the last.
I just rewatched your "Democracy" video and was so happy to see that you uploaded something new and it was a great joy to watch! Palpatine/Sidious will always be my favourite star wars character - right next to Thrawn.
As always, fantastic work! I would love to see Plagueis' brutal training of Sidious depicted someday.
Finding this video pop up after so long must be what like discovering a Sith holocron must feel like :)
The summary of Darth Plagueis the wises fall.
Drunk Plagueis to Palpatine: "Republic Senator?"
Palpatine: *"Galactic Emperor!"*
Plagueis: Oh sh-
Palpatine: *Zap zap*
The end.
Another masterpiece greater than the last. I hope that Dave Filoni sees this and extends to you a chance to work for him. You have genuine talent that is sorely lacking these days.
999/100.
But only because of the absence of Darth Plagueis' most infamous lines - "Tell me what you desire, so that I may deprive you of it..." (that is, all of said spiel! It was too damn Epic..)
Otherwise.? Awesome as usual!
Many thanks for posting this.
I watched this video long ago but it always feels like the first time every time I re-watch it, which shows just how much of a masterpiece it is. This is a special channel.
Ah yes...another sith holocron has been found.
insidious - Sidious
What a great play of words. Never thought about that.
Absolutely epic tribute as always.
You hit it home again. I was surprised at the lack of Kreia but no. She was there at the end as she always is.
Decay has no cure.
What an epic quote.
Well done!
"[A]nd the Republic has become the very evil we've been fighting to destroy."
Followed by Plagueis, "Evil, what is that?"
Just noticed you had him answer the prior statement. Amazing editing dudu sir!

Wow! I have another video of yours in my liked video playlist and I just found it agin and though I watch another one of yours and this is just unbelievable good, got chills. - Marado Evall
I feel like this deserves more than just a ‘like’
I really did like Sidious's use of Sith sorcery in the clone wars. Shows the true depth of his power.
I just they showed more chancellor palpatine and why many people loved him.
I like that the music isnt dark. It makes Palps seem Noble. It romanticizes his journey
Tfw no rotj scenes
I swear there is a Kreia quote for everything.
Thanks for also reminding me how great the audio narration of the Plagueis book is, gonna go listen to it again. Well done as usual.
Another fantastic tribute video. I love every single one of them. I would enjoy more in this style and with so many great characters to chose from the possibilities are endless.
This was another masterpiece - they should get you to edit the next star wars movie! The appeasement part of this was so well done. Great lines, perfectly spaced and intercut with great music and scenes. Well done
The Emperor has always been my favorite character. He is the most interesting character to me by far.
Once more the Sith will rule the Galaxy.
Not a single better tribute video on youtube. This is truly a masterpiece!
Still my favourite video so far. It was what finally motivated me to read Plagueis. And the video is somehow even better after reading the novel.
