  • Easiest way to take out the rack and pinion if you do not want to remove more than you have to. Using the video above I show how getting rid of a very specific mount can help you pull the whole pinion out of the vehicles wheel well.

      It is rather difficult , but there should be just enough space. It really helps having onother person on the other side.

    hey man Im about to attempt this job. I have accord 07 v6. I was searching for another way to extract the rack without loosening the frame or disconnecting the exhaust. Hope you can help me out.. So you just disconnected that little mount and thats essentially it other than the fasteners on the rack? No way lol you had to disconnect other things right? Like you didnt do exhaust or the frame?

    • @WNStuff
      @WNStuff  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah we didn't have to mess with the exhaust at all. I would suggest having another pair of hands though for sure. Because the hardest part is getting the whole rack to spin to the left . Having yourself in the driver side and having someone work with you to shimy it from the passenger side is key. Just make sure all the fasteners are loose and your clear of the break lines !

    Did mine recently without removing the 2 bolts holding that brake thing in place. It's a 2006 Acura Tsx by the way.

    Thank you for this video! I've seen others doing this job the longer ways and was sure it can be done more easily. What size where those hydraulic line nuts that had struggles undoing? Did you lower the back of the subframe? Did you had to undo any engine mounts or just that subframe mount on the side?

    Since I'll be removing that mount, do I need to support anything that the mount is holding up?

    You and Llyod need to do more videos fixing cars. You explain things well. Maybe for a Halloween episode, y'all can dress up as Christopher Llyod and Michael J. Fox (Doc and Marty).

    Hey man! Thank you for the pointers! Where did you buy a replacement??? I heard that re-manufactured racks are trash most of the time and have lots of issues with leaking. About to start on this rack project lol

    Did you have to support or put a jack underneath the driver side where the mount was removed to keep it from falling ?

    • @WNStuff
      @WNStuff  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No the one mount removal just gives you that last bit of extra space you need to get the rack out .

    Is ther a screw holding the steering wheel or no

    • @WNStuff
      @WNStuff  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Under the steering wheel there is a plastic cover and some things you'll have to take apart . The biggest thing is making sure everything is straight before getting that pinion back in there . Otherwise it will be crooked and you have to deal with taking it all back out .

    Thanks alot brother. It came out pretty easy the way you explained. Definitely saved me some time not bringing down the subframe.

    Hey bro, you are GREATLY appreciated. Will this work on an Coupe 06 V6 6mt since its a 7th gen as well? Or are there differences that won't allow this method?

    • @WNStuff
      @WNStuff  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not entirely sure . The rack appears to be the same , but I'm not sure about the mount in the wheel well. If the mount is the same I would say yes!

    • @musiqmannellz4238
      @musiqmannellz4238 ปีที่แล้ว

      Update. This worked!! I wonder if it will work on an Acura Tl since they are similar.
