    I can attest to this upgrade. Before, it seemed I was replacing rotors all the time and I'm a conservative driver. Then in 2017 I did this, and when I last looked at the rotors a month or so ago, and they still look new with no visible wear - 7 yrs later in 2024. Best upgrade I ever did!

      @@azorianification I have the stock 16 x 7, 5-spoke rim. I watched another video on doing the upgrade and that person had the same rim. Said it fit without any issues. If not, It's a great excuse to get new rims.

    Great job, very informative. Do you tow with your tacoma? I have 01 taco and tow quite often up to 3500 lbs. What difference did you notice with the braking when towing?

    • @azorianification
      @azorianification  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks. I don’t tow but there is a noticeable difference now when I have a lot of weight in the bed. I went with the Oem pads but you might be even more performance with an aftermarket tundra pad as well

    I just did the 13WL brake up grade on my 2002 4runner 2wd with stainless steel lines. Yea the pedal is a bit soft after the break in procedure. Did bleeding the whole system bring your pedal back any better?

  • @lorenzomartinez2496

    My first gen has stock 15in wheels will do you think these brakes would clear or would I have to upgrade to 16s or 17s?

    • @azorianification
      @azorianification  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I don’t believe you can do this swap with 15s. I’d suggest an upgrade to 16in. They will even clear the stock wheels to give you an idea of what you could upgrade to. Sticking with the stock OEM brakes just isn’t worth it when you compare the prices between stock vs tundra.🍻

  • @Nessal83
    @Nessal83 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Does the pedal feel mushy because it's still on OE master cylinder? Have you tried panic stopping on it yet to see if it flows enough fluid to brake well?

    • @azorianification
      @azorianification  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It feels the same to be honest. I still need to flush and refill the brake fluid. I would imagine that will make a noticeable difference since I’m overdue. I can lock up the wheels if needed

    Are the new hard/soft lines required for the tundra calipers? Or can the stock ones work?

    • @azorianification
      @azorianification  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Since you’ll be removing them, this would be a good time to upgrade to Stainless steel lines. As for the hardlines, I’m not sure if you can reuse the old ones or bend them to work. Replaces are cheap enough. I wouldn’t want to reuse old brake parts if you’re going to replace everything.
