I have all of that set up in two button shortcuts on my trackball using steer mouse software. I click just a little in front of a transient and press one button that tabs over and deletes that space. Then I click on the clip that I tabbed to, and press my other button, and it shifts it over to the grid line and automatically fills to the cut. It helps me fly through drum editing.
