I just stretched some acoustic piano "sustained notes." Apparently, this type of program is tough to manipulate. After trying Elastic Audio, Time Shift, X-Form, I found that Melodyne gave me the best results; it was easy to work with and I could push it further than anything else that I currently possess. I do not have Z-Plane, which I hear is very good.

From what I've heard in this video, Elastik is a sort of the rex format by Reason Studio, but works with the special plugin.

How ‘bout trying this on multitrack drum mics please?

No kidding! I've been looking everywhere for some guidance on that. It's very tedious to do it one beat at a time.

Which of these old or new elastic audio modes is best for voice overs? Simple Narration. Speed up or slow down? Looking for one that won’t produce artifacts like phasing etc one that preserves the voice. The best one I’ve used has been iZotope RX. And Adobe Audition which also uses the iZotope algorithm

Also interested in this. The human voice seems to me to be the hardest to manipulate. Pitch Time Pro is pretty good IMHO.

@@thal0de The PRO algorithm. it's unbelievable that pro tools took so long to add an algorithm that doesn't sound like trash. Logic or Ableton algorithm fixed that YEARS AGO.

What exactly is "inter channel Phase Coherence"? Does Elastique allow you to edit a multitrack drum kit (16 drum mics/tracks for example) and keep all tracks in phase with each other? This would be amazing because the workflow is great but it doesn't work with the old algorithms.

I believe it's more about maintaining phase coherence in stereo and other multi-channel files. Because drum kit files are separate,I suspect that's different, though in a group it could work. Definitely worth checking.

@@MichaelCosta_ Yeah I thought that might be the case. I've had a play with it and it works way better than the old algorithms though. Lately I've been taking drums to Luna to edit them because all the mics stay in phase plus you can select specific tracks to focus on. For example select the kick and snare mics to focus on then use them to quantize the whole muliti-mic drum kit. It works amazingly well but i'd rather stay in Pro Tools if I could. The pro tools functionality is so close, its almost perfect but its just wasn't usable before. I will try it with Elastique on my next drum edit and see if it keeps everything in phase.... fingers crossed!

@@daverhodesproductions Literally went to the comments to look for this exact question. The algorithm is great but its still causing phase issues with drum edits. I wish they would fix this!!! Seriously makes me look to other DAWs when this could be a simple fix. Maintain phase coherence in groups PLEASE AVID!!

@@daverhodesproductions I may have solved it! I did some research because clearly this is a popular issue. One forum post said that if you edit with "Tick Based" enabled instead of "Sample based" it will keep things in phase. I just tested it and IT WORKS! Gonna do some more testing to make sure it isnt a fluke but it's seeming to work well! If this is the case, hours of my life are being saved since it's so much faster lol.

    • @daverhodesproductions

@@DJILLEE yeah I've done some testing and found a bug with the algorithm that moves some tracks out of time (not just out of phase but way out of time). I've been in touch with avid and it is now a known bug they are working on. The tick vs sample thing is another problem I've had with melodyne moving tracks out of sync. I'm still talking with avid about this, not sure if it's related to the elastiquepro bug or not at this stage. Both elastiquepro and melodyne are such great additions I just wish they worked as well as they should! Hopefully they will be fixed in the next few updates.

ElastiquePro goes out of sync. Fix that
