    Following on what Justin Pratt said, your production quality has come SUCH a long way. I've been watching your channel since at least 2009, and it's simply amazing where it has come. One of my favorite TH-cam creators to date! Keep it up John, and thanks for all the hard work! The amount of knowledge I have gained from this channel is incredible.

    The quality of the product that you put out is beyond good. The camera angles are spot on and the clarity is 👌. That group you shot in the end was that factory ammo or handloads? Either way it was tight and I think with barrel nut system rifles most shooters won't be able to out shoot the capability of the rifle system.

    Dude, this video was fantastic! The beautiful close ups and finely focused views of the build were very well done. I know the time it takes to make mediocre videos and this is way beyond what I do. This type of production doesn’t happen by accident. Please know it hasn’t gone unnoticed. Excellent work brother can’t wait to see more!

    If only we can find a way to import the Deadline action into Australia... :(

    • @bryce333
      @bryce333 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mate I'm in Brisbane, Australia and there is a place here at Redcliffe (sorry not sure if it breaks rules by saying their name) that has bucketloads. They're running an online special at the moment as well which will save about $30. I'm putting in for 1 tonight having organised my custom 24in match barrel today for an MDT ESS build I'm currently putting together. If you are looking at doing a similar build to this I would recommend ordering directly from MDT at this stage as I am not aware of anyone over here that currently has the right parts to ensure all is good with the Ultimatum install. I've added below part of the email I got from MDT which explains the hows and whys. Be aware the Ultimatum takes both AICS & AW type mags without modification as the mob I went through for my barrel wasn't aware and were having problems with a customers build they were doing. Hope this helps. Cheers
      "Basically the Ultimatum uses an AW cut in the mag well and has the mag stop built into the back of the action so it needs a mag latch that is 2.5mm lower than a standard 700, the rear action screw needs to be shortened by a few threads and then you either need to torque the action screws alternating front/back by 5in-lb increments, or tighten them down to about 40-45 in-lb. If you are going to be ordering, there is a notes section and just mention that you "need the shorter mag latch for Ultimatum" and we will get the parts you need to make the mag latch swap happen."

      Thanks for the info. I too am from Australia and can so far only find the older u300 action.
      I will be building an ess chassis in 6.5 creedmoor as well. Can't wait to get it in. Also as per the above comments the deadline action is a different build the a standard rem 700 so make sure you order the right one from mdt. Happy hunting.

      WeekendBrewer lead time was about 5 weeks, not too bad for a custom built action.... and my initial impression is that the action is very tight and precise with a nice heavy bolt, makes cycling from a magazine super smooth, but it is sticky out of the box because of the fresh cerakote finish and tight tolerances. Mine has smoothened out quite a bit from just cycling

    You didn't use the torque wrench right. When you line up the adapter and the wrench, the adapter increase the level of the force thus increase the actual torque on the barrel nut. The right way is to make the torque wrench and the adapter perpendicular with each other.

    "Deadline"?? That has to be the worst choice in rifle names. I don't know about MC, but Army "deadlined" meant equipment so badly fucked up the you weren't suppose to use it without a Commander's review and initials. It directly translates to "ultimately broken" rifle in Armyspeak.
