Hey John thanks for all the information you put out on your videos. I would like for you to try an get a hold on the MPA BA PMR rifle and compare it against the Badrock South Fork rifle since they were both created to fit into the production class of PRS and both would be at the higher end on price for that class. I would like to know which of the two offers more bang for our buck. Thank you and keep up the good work

  • @Jean.34

For production class, I will definitely buy an Axial precision rifle. They say 1/2 MOA for 5 group but I saw it making sub 1/4 MOA group. Action and barrel are one piece which gives it a ruggedness and precision that no other rifle can match. Unfortunately the bad thing about this feature that you are unable to change the barrel or service the rifle by your self or by a gun smith. You have to strictly send it to the company but for those who are in production class, it will be a perfect choice especially 300 PRC if allowed

WW 34 the Axial Precision would be a great Open class rifle, but in Production anything under $2k not including optics is allowed. The Savage Evo, Bergara Grayboe, or Tikka TacA1 are great options as well as the above Badrock

Currently the issued rifles are Remington 700 LTRs in .308. If I had my pick, they would be Accuracy International AT LE rifles still in .308. On the DMR side of things, it is hard to beat a solid AR15 with one of the heavier bullet options (75gr TAP).

    Hi,
I’m a TH-cam subscriber and would greatly appreciate your help with this. I am a shooter/reloader with a little over 3 years experience, so still a newbie/amateur. I have really enjoyed getting into long range shooting and have been able to shoot out to 880 yards locally and getting 0.5-0.75” groups at 100 yard with 6.5 Creedmoor Savage reloaded ammo. I’m looking to upgrade my long range rifle with a budget of up to $2,200.
    Current setup...
RIFLE: Savage 10T in 6.5 Creedmoor (5R barrel, no break) with a Bradley cheek rest.
SCOPE: SWFA SS Fixed 10x MRAD/MRAD
    REST/BIPOD: shooting bags
SHOOTING STYLE: Benchrest (want something can shoot PRS/benchrest competition in the future)
    Contenders:
    $750-2,000
Tikka T3 CTR/Varmint (upgrade stock to KRG Bravo)
Bergara Premier Series: Ridgeback/LRP Elite/HMR Pro
    $2,000-2,200
    Badrock South Fork (Defiance Action)
    MPA BA PMR Competition
    Havak Bravo by Seekins Precision
John Hancock by PVA (ARC Nucleus Action)
    Daniel Defense DELTA 5
Also open to purchasing a barreled action, ex. PVA sells a ARC Nucleus barreled action or a Howa 1500 BA and putting in a stock/chassis.
Not a deal breaker, but I would like to have the ability to change out barrels or adjust headspace myself to improve brass life/accuracy (length of jump to lands & bullet seating). Buying at the $2k/under seems ideal if I want to also have the option later compete in Production class PRS Competitions. I routinely check GunBroker for good deals and used rifles. I’m not in a rush to buy something by any deadline but I was hoping to get some advice and tips for what would be the best platform. I know Remington 700 footprint would give me the most options for aftermarket/extras.
Open to any suggestions/advice and won’t take offense.
THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE!

Hello John, excellent channel and excellent information!!! You were a major factor in my decision to purchase a badrock rifle(currently on order). The question I have is with your choice of bipod. Atlas has many options and your choice was a cal. I will be purchasing a set soon would be grateful for your insight and a breakdown of the different models and why your choice was a cal. It’s likely you have already done this and I just missed it. Anyways, thanks and Keep up the good work! I believe the barrel is x-caliber using pulled button rifling 5r with a 115 degree transition between land and groove and 1-9 twist, at least on the 300prc.

      @kirkmartin2223 4 ปีที่แล้ว

@@vernonlarson7016 I was asking the same question a year ago. The answer my research showed me is aside from being a .30cal projectile they very different in the small details. Different parent cases.300wm head spaces off the rim, has a much looser throat and can't push the long heavy for caliber ELD style bullets like the .300prc can.
Pros for the .300wm.....you can find good factory ammo in just about every town in North America. Its going to do a little better pushing the 170-180gr bullets only because the .300prc was designed around the 225gr ELD projectile. It has a little less recoil than the 300prc.
If you are punching steel out past 1,500yrds the 300prc has the advantage. If you are shooting elk at 300yds then they are pretty much equal and id lean to the 300wm just because you can get nosler partition factory hunting ammo for it.
If you are reloading then you can really do some amazing things with the 300prc. But as of June 2020 I know of 2 factory loads both from hornady for the .300prc where as the 300wm has hundreds.
I had a 300wm and bought a 300prc and I love them both. In my opinion the 300wm is only better than the 300prc in one aspect and thats available factory ammo and the subsequent load data.
