Thank you for another amazing video. I really think more dentists and oral health hygienists, dieticians, and allied health professionals like osteopaths and of course GPs need to state educating women MUCH earlier on these peri and menopause symptoms for women to start being aware, educated, prepared and accepting that this is peri menopause or menopause so we can be prepared!
Hello......I am fifty.......I had bad pain in my teeth also needle like feeling in my mouth with burning tongue........I suffered like crazy not knowing what I am suffering with.....also developed gerd......I did CT scan, sonography, papsmear, endoscopy.....all normal....going to doctors i am so upset......no doctors relate this to menopause.....only antacids.....now I have started homeopathy.......and she is the first doctor who told me this is menopause....... hope this settles down......thanks for this amazing video.
@aahashihanda6580 How are you feeling now do your treatment work. I have everything you describe burning mouth very sore tongue GP are no help . Please let me know if your homeopathy treatment worked. I'm desperate to heal like yourself
Thank you Eileen for another helpful video! In addition to severe hot flashes, I also suffered with burning mouth syndrome even though I produce plenty of saliva and have good oral hygiene and a good diet. When I started estrogen supplementation, both stopped immediately. As an experiment, I stopped estrogen and within less than a week, my hot flashes and burning mouth were back with a vengeance. I use Estradot 50 patch twice a week and Prometrium pill as a vaginal insert every other night. Wishing every woman relief of pain and suffering during this difficult stage of life ❤
Wonderful, my dentist been telling me off for gum issues thinking i not doing oral care well enough even though i am, i am merticulous about my oral care, and now i know symptom of menopause and i can inform them.
When I first started peri I felt a tooth shift. It was the weirdest feeling. I take really good care of my teeth because dentistry is expensive in the States. I practice a lot of preventative care. It was a surprise to feel my tooth shift. Found out it was a peri symptom. I also got the bleeding gums and I have healthy gums.
Oh menopause!!!!!!!Why are you doing us women soooo many things, yes I went to the dentist and asked to do a gum treatment, which I will do very soon, The older we get everything is coming our way, Thank you ms Ellien for your beautiful talk
Never had issues with my teeth until perimenopause. Now my jaw aches so bad with awful pain all down my face, jaw and in my ears...inflammed sore gums which are so painful , i can see teeth slowly receding, dry moith, things taste weird.....im now scared to deaty rhat i will loose my teeth or start to......this has been a phobia all my life but now its worse. It's truly God awful for women this time of life. No one tells you! I literally see no end. 😢
Maybe try the CoQ10, Dorothy, to see if that helps. A craniosacral practitioner specialises in jaw/face issues so may be worth investigating. Best Wishes Eileen
The burning mouth all day my head and chest are the same drink all water all day is that menopause been like it ten years not bleed in five years is that postmenopause thank you
I’ve noticed that all my symptoms of burning mouth and more the tip of the tongue and dryness popped up for me post menopause doesn’t seem to go away either mayb it doesn’t if it’s estrogen related I guess
Hi Jacqueline and Carolyn Unfortunately this is one of the symptoms that doesn't always resolve, post menopause sadly. Maybe try the Sea Buckthorn Oil as this can be effective Best Wishes Eileen
@@carolynarnott5002 As far as I am aware there are no issues taking long-term (I've been taking it for years!) but best to contact the manufacturer for further information as we can't give specific safety advice on another company's product, sorry
I realised that the toothpaste I was using was giving me blisters on the tongue so I changed it ,qnd the mouthwash also so I changed that aswell ,much improved .
I know it is a strange thing to notice, but my saliva has taken on a very strong scent lately. I never had this before and have pretty good oral hygiene.
Brilliant thank you once again, I have issues with bone loss in my jaw, even though I have been regularly seeing a dentist, v upsetting, my oral care is good and I fear it's been years of poor NHS care as now I have to pay privately I am getting much better care, interested in the zinc supplement please can you tell me a good one to try? Xx❤
My both cheek have ulcer type ..since 5 yr .after menopause its treat but it always come back my dentist says it is due to stress ...maintain hygiene brush twice a day ...but i can't understand why it is ...may be this is the reason or not?
Hi Yes, stress can be a big trigger with ulcers but it could also be due to low zinc and B vits in your diet so you may find a zinc supplement 15mg daily and a B50mg Complex, daily, can help ongoing Best Wishes Eileen
Falling oestrogen in the menopause can affect the mucus membranes of the mouth and lead to mouth ulcers. It can also cause clicking in joints. You could try our Menopause Support tablets for natural oestrogen support - www.avogel.co.uk/herbal-remedies/soy-isoflavones/
