    I started getting the 'burning tongue' syndrome last year and the dry eyes. I now have a bottle of eye drops next to my bed for when I get up--then I'm good for the rest of the day. As for the 'burning tongue' , when I first got it, I actually thought I had burnt my mouth---then I thought I had thrush--lol ---turns out it was the menopause. After investigating, I found out my grandmother had the same problem. My mother-in-law also suffered from this. My question is WHY do women keep quiet about these things? Why are women still hesitant about openly talking on going through menopause? If it wasn't for me finding Eileen and hearing her talk candidly about what we can expect to go through I'd be seriously thinking I was going crazy.

      Hi Antoinette
      Glad to be of help!
      It is still a bit of a mystery why it is not talked about but things are getting better and we are trying our best to get as much information ‘out there’ as possible!

    Dry mouth is driving me crazy! I started taking Camu Camu Amla and cod liver oil. When I remember to take it, it seems to help. I do drink a good amount of water already. Prickly ash bark stimulates things too but it just tastes bad. I’ll try ginger and seabuck thorn oil. Thanks.

    Dry mouth, for me personally has been one of the hardest symptoms to deal with and at times has prevented me from sleeping and has absolutely driven me to distraction it's been so bad. After some trial and error, a combination of 3 tried and tested things I do everyday to alleviate my dry mouth symptoms are:
    1. I began to use an electric essential oil humidifier at night and that's helped tremendously, especially when I had a sinus cold and could only breathe through my mouth making it even drier.
    2. I CANNOT live without my Sensodyne Pronamel mouthwash. Unfortunately it's become harder to buy and it isn't cheap but, it's helped my symptoms so much. It's alcohol free and slightly oily making it a lovely mild lubricant and I really notice if I miss a day of using it, so I know it's helping me.
    3. I find I dehydrate very quickly now so I drink lots of water and have cut down on alcohol and caffeine which were very definitely making my symptoms a lot, lot worse.
    Hopefully this combination may also help someone else with this horrible symptom.

I gave up and stop taking it, So instead each day I drank tons of water and change my diet eating more fruits and leafy green and cut down on carbs and less salt. I also walk around the neighborhood each day for half an hour. Walking each day helps my insomnia as well. My dry mouth disappeared all sudden. Lady if ur in Perimenopause or menopause please drink more water. especially during summer time. Dry mouth is no fun and I went through and I do not wish anyone getting it.

    What about sore throat

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The fall in hormone levels during the menopause can cause lots of symptoms, such as dry mouth or tongue etc. Although, there can be various reasons for a sore throat, and if it is persistent it is best to get it checked out, first of all.
