      I am still wondering why it has not yet been labelled 'malady'? How come a so called 'natural process' ruines someone physically and psychologically and still be considered a natural thing simply because women have the capacy to endure pains? It is debilating and is taking some women's lives away! It is high time women came together to fund research to tackle menopause issues. Do not count on men to do something because they are the ones who are tethering with the 'menopause syndrome'. Anyway, it is none of their business and they just don't care!

    So lucky I’ve never had feet problems with the menopause , but drinking water to keep myself hydrated makes me really bloated 😫

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Lisa
      This can often happen if you suddenly start drinking lots of plain water when your body isn't used to it. Your body needs time to adjust so maybe start with just one glass of water a day for a week then increase to two glasses for another week and so on. Also, don't drink a lot with food as this will cause bloating!

    These explanations are genius, Eileen, thank you very much 🌷I have aches and pains all over my body, but especially in the feet and ankles, they are not hot, just a stabbing pain in the soles, like walking on the bones.
    Please do those pains improve again with time? Given we make some lifestyle changes of course.
    Thank you and have a good day 🍀

      Hi C.C.
      Yes, these symptoms can ease over time, but with joint issues, it is really important to sort this out quickly (with things like diet, water, supplements etc) as leaving it too long could result in permanent damage.

    I am 46 and have been in menopause for a year now. I've had very fast weight gain, 19 pounds to be exact. Im a fairly small gal. My whole life i have been between 100lb and 115lb, im now all of a sudden 134 in a matter of just a few months. My feet are killing me on the bottom outer sides. Im finding it very difficult to walk and stand for even short periods of time, especially when just getting out of bed. Like i needed more things to complain about aside from horrid sweating and feeling like a butter ball turkey.🙄😁

    • @AvogelCoUk

      Hi TT
      Swift weight gain can indicate poor thyroid function which can often appear in the menopause. It is best to see your doctor about this so they can investigate properly for you.

    It is so sad that we are so uneducated about menopause. I was at the end of perimenopause when I was getting swollen ankles and feet and no doctor could pinpoint what the problem was. That was six years ago. I also would have a lot of foot pain and I couldn't take long walks anymore. I was hoping to hear about itchiness in my feet.

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Zamev
      Itchiness in the feet can be caused by a number of factors such as thinning skin becoming more sensitive to what you wash with or wear such as socks, tights etc and also what shoes are made of. Hot flushes/sweats can often result in sweaty feet which can cause itchiness! Maybe also check blood pressure and circulation as these may be a factor too.

    I've been getting really sharp pains on the tops of my feet. When I'm walking around it is bearable, but as soon as I sit down for a few minutes and then go to get up again I can barely put any weight on my foot and limp like I've broken something. I'm writing it off as being menopausal as I'm in my 4th year and have been told by an older friend that this is common.

    • @AvogelCoUk

      Yes, this could happen but could be caused by a number of issues so you may find seeing a Podiatrist helpful. They can diagnose, find out what's happening and offer a treatment plan for you

    Hello, Eileen. Just watched your video on leg aches due to menopause. I have been suffering from achy legs for these past weeks. Is it more of muscle posture or hormonal? I sit the whole day at the office and have not been doing my exercises due to the quarantine brought about by this pandemic. Also, drinking water has been challenging due to wearing face mask.
    You mentioned taking magnesium, what is the dosage for this?
    I have also been feeling cold feet and legs when I wake up. My knees sometimes feel wobbly. Is it also hormonal? What should I do?
    Looking forward to your reply. hanks

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Paris
      Posture can certainly cause these kinds of issues so, maybe check out TH-cam for exercises you can do at your desk; these can often just take a few minutes to do several times a day. Try to get up and have a quick walk, even for a couple of minutes once an hour to keep your circulation healthy.
      Dehydration will be an issue too so try and drink as much as you can when you can.
      Cold feet can indicate low blood pressure or poor circulation so best to get this checked out by your doctor at some point.
      I would suggest 150-200mg magnesium twice a day.

      Do get this checked out by your doctor, just to rule out issues such as low vitamin B12, peripheral neuropathy or even diabetes! If these are not present then even a trapped nerve in your spine could be the trigger and it may be worth seeing a chiropractor.

      Unfortunately, this can happen if you are in the peri-menopause, hormones can fluctuate more triggering these symptoms as your eostrogen falls towards a period. You may find a magnesium supplement can be of benefit or you could try the herb Agnus Castus.

    I can’t drink too much water to keep hydrated as of course we can have more frequent visits to the loo in our 50s without drinking lots. I can’t when I’m in community due to no toilet facilities.
