Man you can definitely tell this before the 2009 crash because they still have the 1000 series cars leading, after the 2009 crash only the 2000 - 6000 could lead because they had a stronger body, the 1000 Series were placed in the middle
Correct, but even after the crash you could still see 1000 Series in the front in passenger service as they weren't sure what caused the incident, they didn't stop putting 1k in front immediately, but more later that year
I stayed in Silver Spring in the Blairs for three months. DC Metro usually runs 6 and 8 cars. Great metro system the only drag is during maintenance, unlike NYC's metro which runs two, DC's only runs one track per direction. This equals HUGE delays during maintenance.
