WMATA Metrorail: Rail Observations (May 2018) - Part 1/1

First observation of Metrorail is sometime. All but one clip was recorded at Silver Spring station [last clip at Medical Center station].
Red Line service features an abundance of 7K-series Kawasaki rail cars from their Shady Grove and Brentwood yards as the remaining 2K- & 3K-series Bredas are in the process of retirement.

WMATA is by far the best underground rail system i have used in the US, as an Australian i wish Sydney's metro would take the same direction but unfortunately they have decided to take a more European direction.

I miss the metro as well. I went there with my boy scout troop every couple of years to teach he Citizenship in the Nation badge to the scouts who didn't have it. I remember waking up at dawn, heading to the mcdonalds down the street for breakfast, and heading into Judiciary Station to board the metro. Back then they still used those paper fare cards.
