City of Camden, NJ : 7 Alarm Building

Engine 9 arrived on location with a 3 story vacant building. Engine 9 reported all hands going to work and to strike the second and third alarms due to heavy fire conditions. Fire was very doubtful will hold. The fire went to 7 alarms. A pipeline was established due to low water pressure. No injuries were reported.

I worked with a little boy; who saw the fire on the T. V. Screen. So he went got water and poured it into the television. Yep, he ruined it television. He was a child.

That was more fire than you had water. I noticed a couple times when I saw exposure buildings, hope you kept the exposures wetted down. Vacant or not, that's a real loss. Huge building. Ought have been useful for something to someone.

30 some years ago I got a job in the office at Camden Iron & Metal, All I could think on my way to work was OMG look at this place. Buildings collapsed in the street and people just driving around the piles, hookers all over the place, and crackheads pushing shopping carts full of stolen metal. At one time there were big plants there like Campbell's Soup and RCA, but for the last 40+ years it's been a wasteland
