    Thanks Man, and Great work too. You did a fantastic job combining the aftermarket face to the BMW grill. I was contemplating How I am gonna do this in my Z4. And I am trying several differnt approaches including modifications to my plastic frame that holds the speakers behind the seats. The Z3 has two high frequency speakers on thge door and 5 .25 inch on the floor and back wall wheras the Z4 has 6.5 inch on the floor and rear wall, 4 inch on the door panels and back wall, and a single tweeter in the windoe pillars. I went through several options and tests since I had my car disassmebled for the entire Hot summer in San Antonio, Texas. I found that the 6.5 inch speakers were very comparable to my Klipsch and JBLs that I switched in and out. The most noticeable improvement to the sound came with sound dampening the back wall plates with thick foam tape around the entire edges of Both the speakers And the plates. Then tightening down All of the 12 or more screws on each rear wall. Then I modified the angle on the speakers in the door panels to face the seats insteead of the steering wheel. The tweeters are being replaced with 1 inch dome tweeters with much richer highs for better voice ambience. Every tweeter sounds better than the BMW muffled tweeters. Im probbably gonne go with a more powerfull 2.5 inch JBL or Energy speakers on the rear wall, rather than the 4 inch BMW speakers. The switched tweeters in the front and smaller speaker exchange behind me is a very noticeable improvement to the upper frequecy range that BMW designed. Huge difference with every option that I tried and Im currently about to test the difference between the $7 Wal-Mart tweeters and my 1-inch horn drivers from my home audio Klipsh Spekkers. I'll post a video soon. I saw your other video, and I was glad that you addressed the tweeters separately. Im considering a 10-inch sub, because it gives me the best mix in the Z4. The 12 inch was a bit muddy and required frequency moddifications that were "unnatural". My amp is in the rear wall of the trunk and hidden behind the carpet. I have the option of removing my center storage compartment and placing the sub in its place, but it already sounds soooooo good in a 14x14 cube in the trunk. And my added foam/insulation around the perimeter of the trunk and top and bottom was a huge success. Pad the plastic panels and fill the cavities on the trunk door. I used thick foam insulating tape I found on Amazon that is amazing. Also used some material that goes under hardwood flooring that cost nothing compared to that sold for car audio. Youll find that the plastic in the trunk (and everywhere else) rattles and is very noisy.

    Gorilla glue is a expanding polyurethane adhesive. Use contact cement for upholstery.

    I recently bought a Z3, and am now considering replacing the whole sounds system (like you did) including the bass. In that regard, do u think it is possible to fit a 8" Subwoofer in the original place between seats? With some modding ofc.
    Really enjoy your videoes, and looking forward to the next one!

      Check out etsy. You can do this with 8 or 6.5 inch.

      @@djshuriken2042 Hey thanks for the answer. I actually havent swapped out any speakers yet, but my new head-unit is on the way.
      How do u find the 8" sub, does to provide a good amount of bass and quality?

      Yes. I have an 8" stock sub in my f150 and it is great. In a little Z3 it should be better

    Where do you find original oem tweeters or ones that fit good?

    • @AutoDad
      @AutoDad  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would search Ebay for used ones or just take dimensions of the stock and search that way. Tweeters are pretty cheap

    If you were using a Hero9 it was probably not the SD card. Those things are TERRIBLE. I would record a clip, get home, and it would just be gone. Switched to DJI Action and no problems ever.
