This fandub revealed two things of note here that I never noticed, and I'm kicking myself in not realizing it because this is pivotal to what made Sigma who he is. 1: Sigma never actually HURT Zero. Yeah he knocked him around a bit, but Zero remained more or less fine throughout this fight. Sigma was utterly powerless against him. Which leads to the second thing. 2: This was the first time Sigma was probably genuinely _afraid for his life._ A man who knew no fear, suddenly faced against the devil himself, and realizing that there's nothing he can do. He lucked out BIG TIME in the end. So now I wonder. What was it that _really_ made Sigma Maverick? Was it the virus transferring hosts like so many people say it is, or was it fear of never needing to worry about dying again? Considering he's effectively "immortal" due to becoming the virus... All it took for me to see this was better voice work. Bravo.
You must very well be onto something. As well something major to well and truly introduce, explore, and share. If I was a good writer and actually had more knowledge and good feel for characters I'd share this in story. People on FFN and AO3 would definitely be all over it.
Umm, he didn't hurt zero? Did you see how the fight ended? Sure zero had that system in his brain that tried to fix the error he was having, but sigma strait up punched his helmet crystal. Zero was clearly made to be destructive, just that he was designed to follow orders and guidelines for that. So had sigma not took the opportunity he would have been done dude. Also, I don't know where you get that from by the end, sure it's an interesting idea, but it's clear the maverick virus had infected him. He literally spreads it his damn self. Most likely he got this virus from smashing his helmet crystal, as the wily symbol supposedly was injecting zero with it to fix the error.
@@plaindillo He's not talking about that fatal blow. He's talking about the whole rest of the fight where Zero essentially went on through Sigma's attacks like they were nothing. If Zero didn't short out like that and give Sigma the opportunity, Sigma would've been turned to scrap, big time.
You`re probably onto something here. The only hit he could get was by pure luck. Whatever goes on inside Sigma`s head, the fact that he barely survived this fight & got super pissed off after it probably contributed to becoming maverick
You did a really good job dubbing Sigma, especially in the end when he tells that reploid to shut up. It actually sounded like Sigma is starting to change, like his personality is starting to change
Or at the very least like he's at a weak moment after the first ass-kicking he's had in some time, so the change in personalty was unnoticeable until it was already too late. All that from a well done vocal performance. Just goes to show.
No, it's not omega. Omega obeys dr. Weil, help he conquer the world but Original Zero obeys Dr. Wily to defeat X and reiploids. And as i feel, although Omega has the original body of Zero which has strong energy but he doesn't have this kind of battle instinct, only original Zero and normal Zero that we know have. that instinct is the reason why Zero can beat Omega in Z4 with just fake body.
Watching this video makes me wish Capcom remastered X4 and X5 with much longer movie cutscenes and voice actors like this, it would be absolutely epic ! The only thing i prefer about the original voice of this fight is when Zero had the crazy victory laugh against sigma, it sound madness !
At least now, Zero doesn't sound so dorky. Here, he sounds a lot more believable with his growls and screams of rage. He's CLEARLY got some bloodlust here!
I agree. As a fellow Megaman X fan, while I enjoyed X4's gameplay, the voice acting left little impression on me. This, however, was very intense and epic.
Damn. That's awesome voice acting! It sounds as good as an uncut Funimation anime dub! :) You should get the whole game fan dubbed. I would make a mod with it as well. ;)
Wouldn't count on it anytime soon. Capcom's clearly not trying anymore with Mega Man. Or not hard enough if the Mega Man Legacy Collection is any indication.
@@TheOmega360 what I think is wack is that X Legacy Collection didn't get X6's bugs fixed or X4 and X7's voices redubbed but they could de-GnR-ize the names of X5's bosses. Oh yeah, they did fix the Japanese language track in X7 though, big ups there. Also, I wonder what would happen if they dubbed X4 and X7 in Toronto, like Resident Evil 2 and Mega Man Legends were? I think Martin Roach (Rodrigo from RE:CV and Agram from Magi Nation) would've made a good Sigma, and Cat Disher (Jean Grey from X-Men, Jill from RE3) would've been a good Iris. Not sure about X or Zero though.
Seriously the best Fandub I've ever heard. I prefer Zero's voice from X8 (I can't remember the actor... Nooooo!) This was done quite well. Kudos to you.
Zero's VA in X8 was Lucas Gilbertson, and in my opinion, I don't think I'm anywhere as good as him, but thanks! Ironically, this video is what has gotten me involved in a MMZ game that's in production as we speaketh.
TheOmega360 If anything I'd say you're more like his X7 voice, Jack Merluzzi. Not to directly compare you two, but if you don't land any radio or advertising gigs given the level of talent you've displayed here and your other vids (making the assumption that you may be looking into that line of work) it would be a crying shame.
Seeing this again makes me think that this Zero makes Omega look like a lily-livered sissy in comparison. Both are destruction-happy, bloodthirsty, robotic psychopaths but unlike Omega who would kill you brutally but kill you quickly, this Zero is just flat out sadistic and only went for the kill on Sigma _after he got bored. _ Not even fucking Dr. Weil could make Omega (his version of Zero) this demented.
After rewatching this scene, and looking other mega man games, I guess I got a theory: is Wily still alive? There was a game of classic mega man where Wily travels in time thousands of years in the future and realized he's still alive. Could Wily actually created the virus and implant it in Zero to take over his mind in real time? Like he was watching his creation and wanted to be sure it was as good as he wanted it to be, so he could somewhere, monitoring his creation until that battle against Sigma.
You have some interesting sound effects. Definitely different from the sounds I use. Your Sigma is pretty good. My version of Sigma is a bit deeper sounding.
I have a thought. So zero's beating the crap out of Sigma and then a wily W appears and he stops and goes insane. It always puzzled me as to why that happened, why stop the attack if thats what he was programed by Wily to do. Then it dawned on me. Zero as we learn in X1 has an auto repair system that is constantly restoring his systems, its part of what makes him so dangerous he can heal rapidly, which explains why zero dosen't have a scratch on him. But what if its doing more then that, what if zero is fighting sigma under the influence of a foreign virus, something Wily did not create, or at the very least may not have created intentionally. What if the Wily W signifys the auto repair system is combating the viruses influence over zero, and like a good virus it jumps hosts into sigma knowing zeros body is about to destroy it. Could it be a remnant of the evil energy from MM8? Could it be a glitch Wily over looked? Who knows, but what is clear I think is that Wilys intentions for Zero may not have been as clean cut as we were all led to believe, It's possible Zero wasn't made to destroy for the sake of destruction, he may have been made to stop something far...FAR worse. which as we all learn in the zero saga... was X.
Bro, this is awesome! I’m glad you’re still out here making vids! I’ve thought that if I can’t make it with other stuff, I could do this haha, any tips?
