Pretty upbeat theme...to a game whose ending is a) A guy who asks his comrade to kill him in case he turns rogue and b) A guy who just lost the love of his life and then found out the world's problem of reploids going rogue is all his fault.
I like how some box artwork back in the 90's had interesting shades of primary colors especially how these yellows have slight shades of orange to them and that colors depicted as white skin is slightly pinkish if not leaning closer to red.
For those who think this song is too sappy for the game's ending The Lyrics are about someone keeping a low profile and by the first verse fearing hurting someone, considering Zero having done so and X fearing going Maverick, i said is a fit
only tasteless people would claim this unfit for the ending of this epic game. they just think everything MUST follow the cliche formula of “opening happy; ending sad”. This song is absolutely legendary and a 10/10 for concluding this game.
10/10 awesome song!!!! this is my favorite ending song at all and yukie nakama is role as teacher in Gokusen series plus she is my favorite actress and singer!!!!
Real bittersweet vibe on this song in the general context, like it's thinking back on the good days and what could have followed without the tragedies...
For anyone who thinks that this song is too happy and upbeat for such a tragic story like Mega Man X4... Look up the lyrics online. This song is very bittersweet. The lyrics are actually quite sad. The delivery is meant to throw you off initially. Truth be told, they fit X4 like a glove.
My personal favorite Megaman X gane. It had everything: Great Gameplay, graphics, superb designs, music, anime...Great Childhood memories. Thanks for uploading!!! :)
So weird, this song was reused from Don't Leave Me Alone Daisy, an anime that was super poorly received (hence the title of this song) and idk how or why Megaman X4 got its hands on this song to use unchanged in the game. Good song to be sure! Just such an odd circumstance.
Nakama's single release that includes both the X4 OP ("Makenai Ai ga Kitto Aru") and the X4 ED ("One More Chance") features Rockman X4 on its back cover, though so their use in X4 was their original, intended use, right?
When you really think about it X an Zero killed so many mavericks most of them were their comrades maverick hunters, then in X6 gate's colleagues feared power of investigators and got them destroyed, but they forgot that X and Zero are the most powerfull beings and they also could pose danger to humanity and reploids, but no these two maverick hunter are ok, then X7 the worst game, but story wise it is pretty good when you can see that X is tired of all the fighting and resigns as a maverick hunter, i mean killing all you comrades who were good guys once does take a toll on you psychologically and you start to wonder when all those fight ever end, but sad answer is the fights will never end violence will be always answered with more violence, untill there is nothing left, so i understand why originally x5 was supposed to be the final game and x the final villian of megaman x story because after death of original zero x fought for 100 years alone and those never ending fights drove him more and more to madness, untill he decides to wipe everything out, but then there comes different zero who fights original x to death and ends the entire madness, Dr. light gave X unlimited potential, but unfortunately unlimited potential doesn't mean that you will always use it for good and reploid with zero potential called zero destroys X once and for all, that is how Megaman x story supposed to end. Last game X8 where you meet new enemy called Lumine hunters finally defeat sigma, but then Lumine tells, them about new generation reploids and how far they evolved, that they can become maverick at will, and putting x into questioning his morals, unfortunately we won't be able to see where the story will take further, but i guess it is up to us fans to create stories whether to create stories how developers intended, or create a story on more positive note, since CAPCOM cut ties with megaman, it is up to us to do it ourselves and see the conclusion of megaman X series we want to see, because all thing have to end at some point, nothing lasts forever.
This track is a bop but it's for that reason that I think it does _not_ work at all for the ending for X4. Everyone in Reliforce died, Zero lost Iris, X fears he might become a Maverick one day, and Zero is basically depressed. This feels like the track of a happy ending, not of a dark and unsettling ending like X4.
Ehh... The X sub-series was already deep into its shounen influences. And that genre of anime is known for uplifting ending songs that don’t gel with the somber premises they often came packed with. So X4 ending with a happy J-Pop song isn’t that outrageous and very much in line with the shounen standards. If anything, despite it being a well-made and beloved game, the derivative nature of its plot is where most of the criticism should be directed, if you ask me.
@Shin Shaman Let me recap the plot of the first Mega Man game. Good natured robot kid is tasked by an old inventor to stop robots that have turned bad thanks to an evil power hungry megalomaniac scientist. Said robot kid defeats these bad robots, collects their weapons, becomes more powerful over the course of the game, then has to go into the evil scientist's lair, stops the bad guy and the world is saved. There you go, I just described a shounen anime. The original Mega Man series is clearly inspired by Astro Boy, while Mega Man X is inspired by Casshan, and both are monster of the week stories where a good natured robot has to stop bad robots. So yeah, Mega Man is a game series with heavy shounen anime and manga influence, which isn't a bad thing, it's just the truth. What is the demographic of the Mega Man series? Young boys, in other words = shounen.
@Shin Shaman The 1972 Devilman TV series is about saving the world. Also, an American age rating system doesn't dictate anything, all the Kingdom Hearts games are rated E or E10+ and clearly have shounen influence. Besides, these labels get blurry anyway. Banana Fish is a series with an all male cast, features crime, gangs, lots of violence and is a shoujo.
Guess it's supposed to lift people's moods after the depression of the ending... maybe that's also why they removed it from the english version, no way I'm gonna be sad during the comedic riot
X: Tells his best friend that if he ever went Maverick he'd want him to kill him. Zero: Has a mental breakdown over how he couldn't save those he cared about. The jolliest most dance party sounding ass song you've heard in your entire fucking life around the corner:
But then you translate the lyrics of this seemingly upbeat song: All about faking someone you aren't and keeping a low profile to prevent being hated and or hurting someone else but despite being hurt so much yourself, you still have one more chance to find a new way or a solution to the upcoming ordeals.
