    It can be hard to know what you are really getting yourself into when you buy something online, especially when it comes to motorcycle parts that you have never tried before. In this video, I go over my true & honest thoughts on the Mustang Tripper Solo seat for the Honda Rebel 500 after riding with it for over 2,500 miles. Is this seat as good as everyone seems to say it is? Is it the BEST seat that you can get for the Honda Rebel? These are just some of the things I discuss on this exciting review!

    This video could really benefit from some editing. It's takes roughly 8 minutes before we actually get to the review.

    I have the Mustang Tripper Solo seat on my bike, it's actually the first (of way too many) mods I did, and probably the most important one. Really comfortable, I feel like I sit better on the bike, and I feel like I slide around less on it.

      @evergreenmoto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! 100%, it was the first thing I did to the bike after the windscreen, and it’s been the best by far!
      Yeah, it helps keep you planted which is really nice, and I like the different riding position.

    I've noticed that weaving from one side of the turn lane to the other several times until stop the light notices me more often 😂

      Oh really? Just like rolling back and fourth? Interesting, I’ll have to try it next time. Thanks for the tip!!

    My stock seat is terrible as soon as I climb onto the bike! I put some cloth pads on it and that's a little improvement. The stock seat forces me to slide into the tank. I'd rather have a flat, wide seat. When I began to ride in the 70s I had a Yamaha 250 and on that bike I rode some long rides. They really hurt my tailbone, but I could do it. I rode as much as 500 miles in a day. But on this Rebel, there's no way I could ride more than a couple hundred miles. Even taking a break doesn't help. It is just extremely uncomfortable.

      Yeah, I totally agree. I would start to feel really uncomfortable after about 2 hours of riding. The stock seat needs to be upgraded if you want to ride any farther than 50-100 miles a day.

    I had the mustang tripper in my rebel and it was definitely day and night from the stock seat , I really only ended up getting maybe 20 more minutes saddle time before my butt was complaining. Was it worth it ....sure. the best seat I have found for any bike for me anyway is an air cushion I have an airhawk large. I can sit on that cushion all day long no problem I have one on my Kawasaki

      That’s awesome, thanks for sharing your experience. How does that hold up in terms of price compared to other seats?

      For someone who lives in another country, do you know any websites that sell one for Honda Rebel 500? I am looking into a new seat for my Rebel.

    Can I ask. The mustang seat looks like it's higher. Do you know how much the seat height is with that seat as opposed to the stock seat? I know the stock seat is 690. I am kinda dependant on not getting too much higher. Do you also have maybe other choices ypu have heard of?

    • @evergreenmoto
      @evergreenmoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      The mustang seat is higher, I haven’t measured it, but I think it’s probably 1 and 1/2 inches higher. It’s enough to notice it visually, but I didn’t feel like it changed my riding stance at all. The bigger change I felt was that it moved me forward a little bit, which I was okay with.
      I think most aftermarket seats will be taller, but one option could be having the stock seat reupholstered with cushions added to it. Shouldn’t make it too much taller.

    I got a Butt Buffer gel pad and it added about an hour of Butt Comfort for me. I might add a sheepskin tucked underneath it if I plan longer rides in the future. Currently I rarely go longer than 2 hours before stopping anyway😊

      @evergreenmoto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome, thanks for sharing your experience! Yeah, that’s cool that you found a solution to increase the time for sure. Since it’s not a touring model, it makes sense that it wouldn’t have a seat designed for super long rides. Ride safe ✌️

    Thanks so much for your info on the Mustang seat. I recently bought up fully stock pre owned 2022 Rebel 500 and ‘feel’ what you’re talking about regarding the stock seat. I have a different question though. What are your thoughts on your windscreen? Would you recommend it and , if so, what is it and where do you get it? Thanks very much.

    • @evergreenmoto
      @evergreenmoto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For sure!
      I like it, but there are a few things I wish it did better. The wind buffering can be annoying depending on how tall you are. Check out my review video on the windscreen! It’s the Puig 9462 smoke windscreen.
