Thanks so much I have the Bullpup version which I'm sure is very similar I do have one question is it common after say 5 to 6 months to loose air in a PCI if not I might need to replace some O-rings and do they have to be from the kit or can other brands be used as long as there the same diameter

@@smokingunclefrank6037 no it isn't mine has the same issue- haven't even run many shots through it either- I'm gonna have to replace the orings- not sure where mine is leaking though

Yes, Please do a further breakdown on the Avenger. I think a video on how to work on our guns would be super helpful to so many Avenger owners. I'm sure there are other Avenger owners like myself who are leary about 'breaking' into their rifles. I have already learned something very valuble watching this video. Thank you for your dedication to the air gun world.

This video is helpful. I have a two year old Avenger 22 cal that just started leaking. It would charge right up to 3000 psi, but then wouldn’t go any higher. After disconnecting the compressor the gun would drop about 200 psi and then hold that pressure pretty well.
I snoop tested it with soapy water with the compressor hooked up and running and it was blowing tiny bubbles from the receiver end of the main air chamber and both ends of the smaller plenum. Degassed and took it all apart and all of the o-rings are hardened and have a square profile shape. I just ordered a complete set of o-rings from Captain O-ring and will replace all of them in the gun. Since these ones are hardened, I figure all the rest of the o-rings will be too.
Captain o-ring has a diagram that you can download that has all of the o-rings on it so you can figure out which size goes where. Very handy. Also the o-ring kit they sell doesn’t have the spring or regulator, and is a lot cheaper than the full rebuild kit from Pyramid Air.
Those fittings on the ends of the air tubes can be tough to get off the first time. A 22mm, 6 sided, deep socket fits them perfectly and will help prevent buggering up the flats on the fittings. I used a set of soft plastic soft jaws in my bench vice to hold the tube (don’t over tighten!) and the deep socket to break them loose. No need to tighten those fittings any more than hand tight when reassembling as the new o-rings do all the work on sealing it up, and will make it easier to get apart next time.
I spoke to Air Venturi tech support about my gun, and they mentioned using a pure silicone gun oil as an o-ring lube. I have a vial of RWS Air Chamber oil that works perfectly. Just a drop on each o-ring will allow it to slide on and seat better. They suggested putting a couple of drops in the fill port opening before charging to try to seal up the old o-rings, but mine were too far gone for that.

RICK!!!!!!!! I have been chasing a verrry slow leak in my .25 avenger for a while. I never thought to change the o-rings in the tube as they did not bubble with the soapy water treatment. All the impetus I needed was THIS 'the .25 avenger rebuild' video! o-rings were smooched WAY out of shape and stiff as a board! all fixed now and holding air like a champ! delighted, is a word I would use! thank you for videos like this and please consider making more fix-it videos for various airguns.

I really like these tear down/repair videos. It's always informative even if I don't own that perticular airgun. You can alway learn something you might bump into yourself. I was wondering because i read about issues with water in the tubes/bottles with the little compressors, do you need to inspect the inside of the tube when disasembled? what to look for? Could you maybe do a video on that topic?

Yes PLEASE!!!!! Have a .177 & .22, that I'm sure I'll need to do work in the future. Also, Saber Tactical Makes a scope rail for that, that was the first thing I replaced on mine...And if you fill really rambunctious, a tear down on the Senaca Aspine would be nice for Christmas???? Seem to be having pump problems when the pressure gets under 2000 psi... Thanks and keep up the good work... Big C 😎

I did the Saber Tactical scope rail upgrade as well when I first got mine. Then I took off the front section of synthetic stock and installed Terry's BuckRail foregrip and the 11cc Doux Tech plenum. Then front barrel band to lock it down up front. Shoots like a laser! Mines a 25 caliber by the way. Superb rifle when it's not leaking.😊

The Avenger is such a great platform!
    Love that gun!
I have one in .22 that has shot absolute lights out from day one!
I modified the Hell out of it with a Terminidator Chassis and a 360cc bottle conversion.
It shoots JTS 18.1 pellets at 900 fps in one ragged hole at 50 yards.
I'm getting about 60 shots on a fill, no problem.

The small cylinder is not the plenum, it s just another tube for air storage. The plenum on the Avenger is very small, about 15cc, and it's on the block valve assembly, near the regulator. Cheers!

Hey Rick, do you prefer the Vevor compressor over the GS CX4? I seems to me that the CX4 operates at a slower rpm.

    • @AirGunWeb
      @AirGunWeb  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Hey there.. two completely different products in my opinion. If you are just filling guns, then you don't need the CS4. If you want to fill pony bottles AND guns, then the CS4 is great. The Vevor (and other portable compressors like the ReadyAir, RovAir, JTS, etc.,) to fill guns have all done well for me.

thanks for the thorough initial video; my .22 Avenger has developed a rather rapid air loss after a 3000 psi fill. after replacing the two obvious O rings and reassemble, no luck - rather rapid air loss continues and no obvious points of loss. the cylinder ends seem too tight to be disassembled readily. Escaping air couldn't be heard or felt. This is the first downtime for this Avenger after around 750 shots. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Putting a balloon on the end of the barrel helps to determine if the valve inside is sealed. Make sure you cock The action so the hammer and spring are not holding it open. Then wait for a little while to see if it inflates, might have to wait overnight even. Hopefully someone finds this useful.

Any thoughts in a supposed issue w/ Avenger X rifles having a design flaw with their springs? Supposedly the tube version in .25 cal. in particular was having issues w/ broken springs. The cause was posited as being that the maker had tried to get away w/ using the same spring for all three calibers, but it fails due to a back pressure influence on that spring. Using the bottle vs. the tube is said to help mitigate the problem thanks to higher volume. I don't understand ot all, but was just getting ready to order one when I stumbled across the concern. Specifically the person making the comments is an air gunner and mechanical engineer who works in industrial air & hydraulic systems by day. His observations also centered on the new (silver) vs. original (black) springs, saying the 7ssue 8s beingvignored and buried. He's also a competitive shooter btw.
