Nice! The Gen1 Avengers were good for 3/4" groups out to 100. I've even seen them take down ground squirrels out to 200 yards! The Avenge X has more power. Same style regs. Good review here boss!💥💪💪💪🎯💯
Just a little FYI, BC is very important slugs can be heavier but have greater BC which means they fly straighter than lighter pellets. I have found that 26 grain pellets fly the same as 34 grain slugs
JTS Dead Centers 25.39gr around 2270 psi on reg shooting around 890 fps pack em and stack em! The guns love those Dead Centers, both my avenger and avenge X 25 cals.
is.25cal better at 100m or .22cal? someone said .22 has flatter trajectory, .25cal drops fast. I was hoping to buy a .22 cal and use slugs for 100m targets
The Avenge X 25cal actually does a good job with 30-35 grain slugs once you take the time to tune the rifle for them. About 850-880fps depending on the slug seems to work the best. The 26grain FX Hybrid slugs shot very well on mine out of the box.
@@AM-hs4bz I mainly shoot H&N Slugs, anywhere from 28 to 35 grains with good results. I have gotten them over 900fps, but my groups start to open up. With mods, such as a larger plenum upgrade, etc you could get them into the mid 900fps range and they will start to stabilize again. the 34 grain H&N is perfect at 860fps though.
2 slugs you need to try. Air impulse .25cals there's another youtuber shooting @ like 87-90 yards i think there 26grain slugs shooting like 895 laser flat crazy good groups. And for hunting and expansion look up varmint knockers I have yet to see any other slug expand like those i mean I'm talking past mushroom like almost flat pancakes . Only thing that sucks is there are both $$. Like 100 shots is 15$ + 8 shipping..think the impulse are about the same price wise . Will say steve of Aeac was shooting some NSA i think 30grains at 120 yard with wind had some crazy nice groups as well he's the guy that has the super detailed tuning guide video for both .22cal / .25
@@TheDollarSportsman idk man, we’ve all had guns, or have guns that will shoot pellets and slugs on same tune. It was worth a shot. I will say you got balls doing this test in that weather and posting results regardless of outcome.

@@TheDollarSportsman I understand that. But what's the point in buying a rifle with adjustable reg, hammer and transfer port but not use it. Imagine how awful a high dollar FX tuned for pellets out of the box would look if you refuse to take advantage of the adjustments. Especially if you run a cheap scope and shoot slugs. I want to see the capability of the rifle when tuned perfectly for whatever projectile you choose. Also shot in good conditions. Anything less is of no use to me. @@heithwatkinssorry to say it but I can’t disagree. Most content creators for Airguns do an out of the box…let’s see some skills…tune it up without mods. Just tune it to its optimal capability out of the box for slugs. Show us what to expect when we tune it to its best with slugs.🤷🏼♂️ JS💯
@@heathhalfhill6867 Thanks brother. This issue has been a problem forever. I remember seeing a guy (who also shoots competition) compare a Gauntlet to an Air Arms S510. First shot was low because it was slow - regulator creep.. Reg pressure was high and hammer could not open it properly.

How could the Zan 28gr group at 50y be 1/4" when you apparently have 1" squares?
My avenger shoots the FX hybrids really well. It would be interesting to try those with the Avengex
My first shot is lower. Its because the reg has creeped up a bit, without touching the HS FPS is a little lower on that first shot.
Another great video.

Shouldn't you retune the rifle for slugs.
YES, 100%; it’s definitely worth tuning it for a specific slug. In this case, our goal is to show what’s possible out of the box.

Definitely not true.
Different lead alloys work differently from brand to brand.
There's no such things as seasoning the barrel. I've talked to competition shooters. Some even clean barrels between shots!
