I’m 58 and have been chasing whitetail since I was 12, the last 10 years specifically mature bucks . For the first time ever I will be at work the first week after Halloween, I have been after one particular buck in the big woods of Public here in upstate SC. This buck as well as the matures have daylighted on scrapes between October 6 -15 more than any other time frame consistently every season. Finally I have taken 12 straight days off starting the 7th Oct. that leaves me 5 days to use and I will use those thanksgiving week to add to the already long weekend. Cameras don’t lie and Im finally gonna listen. Thanks guys for the content !
i use trail cameras in the mountains here in north west georgia i understand exactly what jacob said i know people who sit on their private property and wait on a cell camera to tell them where to go guess its legal but that i think is the bad name cameras get !! thanks for a great podcast !!
Very fortunate to have multiple big bucks in your area. My area is mountain deer 🦌. There not as big as most but when you find a good one for north west ga Chattahoochee national forest area it’s worth while.
We have a few guests from your area of GA that hunts up there. Check out last Mondays episode (#618) with Stewart Keen. He's up there by you and hunts the NF and kills some great bucks up there. Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Trail cameras I use them but they do not help me get a deer I normally don’t kill what’s on camera it’s more of a second hobby. All it does is get your hopes up. Typically ppl don’t kill what’s on the camera
No doubt about it. SMZs, creek crossings, fence breaks to private fields - early season. This is the ticket to nailing an opening day buck or early season giant if you can find and pattern him in this areas.
I credit trail cams with helping getting people to pass 2 year olds. When people see the 4 year old bucks running around the dont mind letting 2 year olds walk
You guys really need to create longer videos and more videos catering to the bowhunters that DON'T utilize cameras and rely on actual woodsmanship. Find and bring on guests who are those hard to find true bowhunters that learn terrain, sign, weather, etc., who chase old bucks and not just 3 5 years and under.
We’ve actually had quite a few guys on the show in the past who are exactly what you’re talking about. They are available as audio only on Apple podcast and Spotify
Hunting isn't suppose to be easy, at some point I think we can lose the argument of fair chase when it comes to targeting a specific buck with dozens of cameras

Very true! We mention that on the show ever so often
Early season is my fav time to hunt hands down rut is overrated in the south. I said what I said 😂
What did that super wide buck score?? Looks like it should be a state record typical!
