We grow our bucks big here in eastern, KY. I’m glad you were blessed with a hunt here. We keep these hunts in the friends and family but we will welcome a fellow hunter in if he’s got that fever. Our public hunting is some of the best in the country. We’re no longer a sleeper state. Within the next 5-10 years the record books will be full of eastern, KY bucks.
I gave my huge ol 8 pt 18 hours and he was bleeding good . 250 yards all the way to his bed . Big pool in his bed and he was not there ! 18 hours.....I was shocked !!! He was a brute of a monster body wise, so much so his rack looked small!!! I still have not found that deer. But rifle season just ended so maybe I will find him very soon...man it was a bummer dude !!! Great buck Jeffrey!!!
I shoot 320 grain gold tip arrows with 100 grain grim reaper mechanical and a 26 grain insert and a 12 grain lighted nock. 458 grains. Total weight. Full pass thru. Everytime. Regardless of angle or height. Dont matter if im on the ground or in the tree, 45 yards or 10 yards. Always passes thru. 550 grains doesnt guarantee a pass thru. A tuned bow and a good broadhead and shot selection do though.

If you'd use 550gr or higher arrows.....you would have only needed the one shot, full pass through.
