    Any concerns on weight being past the front towers?

    • @josephu8327

      I was wondering the same thing, but he did mention having scales. I know he thinks several steps ahead, and I would think having the batteries behind the front axle would be ideal for weight balance/ballast.
      But for all I know, this could be intentional. Hopefully, we will hear something about this?

    • @woden79

      Thinking the same thing.
      Scales help get the weight front and rear in proportion. But wouldn’t the car be difficult to handle with a large proportion of the front weight in front of the wheels?

    • @markraumer2336

      50:50 weight distribution is less important than the moment of inertia of the vehicle. Putting a lot of weigh forward of the front wheels will induce a pendulum effect in corners.

  • @johnhearn6397

    Why do you want to put so much weight in front of the axle? Are there not any cells available that can lay flat on the floor pan to keep the center of gravity low and moment of inertia centered?

    • @4literv6

      $$$$ is why.

    • @josephu8327

      Yes I was thinking the same thing, having it as low as possible and as far behind the front axle seems like it would have better handling and good weight transfer but they could be shooting for this type of weight bias intentionally, hopefully we will find out.

    • @neilattwood6227

    280z weight from 75 to 78 is a big swing. Like more than 200lbs. If you want to compare to the lightest 280z, you're looking at about 2600lbs, give or take 40lbs.

    The amperage is also the flow of the electricity (also called current). The higher the amps the faster that 400v will move. Going thicker gauge wire is a safe guard for the current the electrical bits are pulling. Idk for sure but I’m 90% sure Teslas motors pull more current than the Chevy volt so it’s good you upgrade those cables. You may wanna double check the max current draw of the motor and double check your wire gauge rating for amps @400v just to be triple sure.

    Just to clarify, the 600v rating on the cable speaks to the insulation rating. The diameter of the cable is specific to the amperage. Amperage, force, makes heat. 12v system isn't dangerous to humans. Our skin is our insulation, which is good to about 50volts. But amperage, is what gets the wires glowing red and melts things.

    Longevity will be the question. Two things I see is one are you actually getting even cooling which would cause uneven wear of batteries and eventually all that cooling hoses will leak and fail. Hopefully you will be able to work on this without taking everything apart.

    No no no, here's how it is. Amperage is like torque, volts are like RPM, kilowatts are horsepower (actually). All this is close to being literally true with regard to motors. So think big amperage, big wires just like you'd have big axles, high voltage, you'd want good insulation which is like maybe balancing or scatter shield, or lubrication in an engine.
