I don't think most people understand how much manual labor it takes to make plugs and molds. Hats off to you guys. Love the channel and builds. You and Tofu Auto Works makes my skin itch with sanding dust. LOL.

Lots of work, lots of itch, but at the end of the day, you're left with something you can genuinely puff up your chest for and be proud about. Awesome car this will be!
Been this channel since the OG days and gotta say the elevation of builds, videography, SFX etc is nothing short of epic, hands down fav channel! slightly sad this build content will be slowing after SEMA but cant wait to see what yall get into next!
You guys are such beasts, doing this entire project over the last several months and editing the videos and releasing them in a tight schedule. That’s a ton of upfront work!
I’ll be the voice of opposition to what’s looking like the early consensus. I’ve seen enough Banditos videos to know I’m never gonna do anything this complicated with carbon fiber, so I’m stoked on how these videos are coming in hot and fast and just covering the basics. I want to see this thing done ASAP. There are a ton of other in depth videos on this channel covering the same build processes. Keep ‘em coming like this! This build series is seriously fun. Oh, and I hope the Ford FE32 is the next one up.
love seeing the progress on this car, it's gonna be amazing. wish I was still in Vegas so I could go see it in person at SEMA easily, but the car world is a small world so hopefully i'll see it sometime!
@@elijahherman yes I do thanks. Imo it could be edited together more smoothly. Which is what I said. And the merch plugs could be better executed as well. Both would grow their channel&profits. Keeping the business alive. 👍🏻
I'll be bummed when this series finishes. It seems like the progress is happening so fast but the amount of hours it takes to do any one of those parts is crazy. It's cool to see the hyper speed version, 'let's make this', boom, done. 😮. if only it were that easy irl
Looking forward to picking up some of those rotalock bond-in fasteners from you guys. You're not kidding about them being hard to find. Nobody that makes them will sell them to individuals. It's all "have your sales department call us to order 50,000 of them"
Dude your skill set has grown incredibly over the few years I’ve been watching. When you make it look this easy, it’s just INSANE. Are you going to take on customer cars for custom carbon work? If so how do we get a hold of you? Through your shop?
Even tho 9v is the max, you should drop it down to 8.5 for safety and longevity reasons. And you should consider putting a switch somewhere to have it go from 5v to 8.5v whenever you actually want the fast charge. Even tho they say "we've figured fast charge" the truth is it's still a very demanding action for batteries so you don't always want to peak charge it with FC. To solve this, you could use an Arduino setup (micro arduino, or even a bare chip) to switch between the two using a touch sensor hidden somewhere on the dash. So essentially have a sketch where you touch the sensor, and it switches to FC from what's a normal 5v. Also, a suggestion for the cup holders, inside, using two "pringle" shaped wedges, you could have a sprung mechanism that adjusts to the size of the item you put in there and keeps it stable. Like the "pringles" could come out of the cup with two lips over (so you can easily put stuff in) and with a metal strip as a spring, push inwards. The metal strips could be that metal that comes with pallets to secure stuff. It's very springy.
This project is amazing. Could you, in the end when it's completed, give a rough estimate how many hours went into it and how much you spent on materials?
V-weave, stabilized carbon, but no Liquid Death? C'mon guys. I get more excited seeing everything come together... Really looking forward to seeing all the finishing touches after SEMA too!
What are your thoughts on laminating fiberglass and carbon together. Ive had people tell me not to due to different cooling/heating rates and flexibility. I'm curious if they're being overly dramatic or not.
I think the big difference is the size and continuity of pieces, as well as the structural use. A lot of these are basically vanity panels, and a bunch of smaller pieces. The fe32 is a one piece monocoque
I feel as though there may have been a missed opportunity with the name Legacy, instead calling it the LegaZ. Anyways, keep on keeping on! Love the vids! You guys are great!!
it’ll be a mixture of both if i’m not mistaken. one thing i learned over the years is to never doubt tim lol. he knows balance when it comes to building 😂
Structural cf would likely involve an autoclave and dry weave honeycomb for the frame. The cost involved to build a pressure heat chamber that size sadly leaves it out of reach for small shops and hobbyists 🙁
@@StreetBandito oh yeah, for sure. I was just curious because you said you wanted it to be street legal. And I'm low key starting to wonder if the odometer thing is the same as mattress tags 😅
This build had the potential to be the best build on TH-cam but so many parts of the process are either left out or just out of chronological order. We watch this build to be along for the ride not to just check in on progress.
It definitely is the 2nd best build on youtube (only because project binky DOES go in depth), I completely agree that the coverage lets it down a bit. This stuff is fascinating and I'd love to see it in depth. There is nothing better than watching a true master craftsman do his thing.

Great video again gents!! cannot wait to see this finished, going to be amazing.
Out of interest, how many parts can you make from a mold?
I cannot wait to see the finished car for SEMA
The red layer being the tooling gel coat negative? What product do to use? Looks easy to spray coat with it as well as paint on.

Another video one day later, that's sick haha
And the music goes pretty hard ngl
2 a week no matter what the days are lol.
I need those cupholders for my centre console. Did you make them or buy them done?
I could see just for the show tho, some clear centers with blue lights around the wheels with two piece lips made out of carbon . That would be sick!
Is that light coming through the corners of the transmission tunnel? Does that effect its integrity?
What material are you using for your “mud”? It seems like it’s been several different materials over time.
Let's watch the long form of these videos
Y’all got the molds to do a full set of Z-car body panels, as in a full body, for a tube frame car, yet?
so you can now do it like fiberglass? no vacuums molding or baking?
I think the big difference is the size and continuity of pieces, as well as the structural use. A lot of these are basically vanity panels, and a bunch of smaller pieces. The fe32 is a one piece monocoque
Is there any room for a "Gas" pedal with that bulge in the center console? Even if there isn't amazing work! :D I love watching the progress.
What’s your power steering setup?
The LegaZ
You're not going to make any drain holes just in case water does get into the deeper part of the interior panels?

Steel It paint is the best!
