From all that I've seen and heard about high point, it sounds like a great gun to keep in the night stand, maybe in your tackle box, under the seat of your truck... They are reliable. However, they're so big and heavy I wouldn't want to carry it.
Seriously they are fully functional firearms. Just bulky and heavy. For non EDC shooting and a nightstand pistol there's nothing wrong with them. I have one of the Carbines as a SHTF carbine for 40SW rounds I have for my HK USP40. Accurate to 100yds and runs just fine.
I love how previous tortre tests you've done have shown the Hi-point in a favorable light and this time the darn thing broke before you even shot it. Also, maybe use the factory mags dude.
To answer your question of which I would want for the money. I'll take the Hi-Point with a matching Hi-Point carbine and money left over for factory approved mags.
The feeding issues were 100% because the crappy aftermarket extended mag. Even Matt's previous videos on the hi-points shows them being reliable with the standard factory mags.
Try using a non-gigantic mag. I have the Yeet Cannon and it did the same thing the first mag. I just "helped" it back into battery with the heel of my hand and it ran fine after that. One Mag did separate at the back, the stamped crimp came apart and the metal separated. The empty casings of the rounds that wouldn't go into battery had hellacious scratches on the sides like the top of the mag was grabbing it and digging in, keeping it from leaving the mag.

Definitely a mag issue. The extended mags are not made by HI-Point but by Pro-Mag and I have seen numerous guns have problems with mags from that company.
I will say. I had a hipoint .40 that did the same thing. They absolutely coat the slide and ramp with a thick coat of paint. Once I knocked the paint off the ramp and polished it, never had an issue again
i actually have a similar issue with my berretta m1895. the mag will physically fit 10 rounds, but if you put more than 8 the spring pressure makes it not cycle
yea, the fact he didnt try to change to the mag it came with kinda shows that it might have been intentional, using the shitty mag to rig it against the hi-point as he dislikes it, plus that Hi-Point is already in bad condition.
Yup many of the aftermarket hipoint mags need the feed lips adjusted. It's an atermarket QC issue. Not the gun it's self. As well as a shooter issue. Guys used to none blow back guns tend to be a little to limp wristed. Which is why when he held it to the side it did not have any failures to eject.
@@williamallen7836 the highpoint has very little recoil due to its weight actually... butttttt how many aftermarket parts can run perfectly with a glock?? while the highpoint is stuck with factory single stack 6-7 round magazines, while... being the size of an elephant..

I’ve noticed some of the other commenters have also said this, but you’ve already pointed out that the High Point is a cheaper version of the standard semi automatic. You know how semi automatics feed their ammunition into the chamber: with that in mind, why would you put a 16 round extended magazine into something that’s designed to use seven or eight? Of course, it’s going to jam: there’s too much pressure pushing straight up into the chamber. Additionally, if you are a Glock fan, you should know better than to over-oil your gun.

Blowback actions require massive slides. A 20mm autocannon would need a slide weighing 500-pounds. I can't believe Hi-Point made one as large as 45 ACP... these things are usually chambered in nothing larger than .22, .25 and maybe .380. I picked up up a .45 Hi-Point because the seller needed a couple of bucks and for me it was a novelty... not that I needed another gun. It is as heavy as a cordless drill and has the balance - or imbalance, of one. All that said, the big auto functions as flawlessly as my Colt, Glocks and others. So long as you use hardball loadings it's virtually jam proof.
@@nortonallen3421 I totally agree, it's a bit of an unfair test using OEM Glock mags that have been tweaked and tested for decades against some random third party crapazine.
Yeah the tests he did beforehand with factory mags were a completely different story. They may be cheap and ugly but they seem to function and seem to be fairly robust. It may also be because it's a newer yeet cannon and not the older ones.

I have the 45 acp hi-point, I have put about 200 rounds through it and it has never jammed once no problems with it at all! Of course I don't use an extended mag just the mag that comes with it and I use the highest quality ammo there is and I always clean and oil it after every use!

I own a C9 and I can say, both factory and aftermarket mags are Hi Points' biggest issue. It's very easy to fix the mags though, you just have to adjust the spring a bit and it runs like a charm. Mine almost never jams now and is as accurate as can be. Also keeping the mags loaded for a week to break in the spring works wonders. 10/10 would recommend if it is all you can afford.
Few problems here: 1. It isn't a factory mag in the hi point, glock was a factory mag. 2. Most single stack mags past 7 rounds have issues feeding rounds into the chamber. Long story short, don't get and extended mag if it's a single stack
It's the mag.. if I remember correctly u need to take like a pair needle nose pliers and on top of the mag, the Lil feed lips or whatever they r called and on the back side of the lips u spread em apart ever so slightly just to open that space up just a lil bit.. also if u wanna polish the feet ramp it will actually Belpre em cycle pretty darn good.. mine did yrs ago

So when I PCS'd last time, my living arrangements got fucked in A with a big old D. So I had to live In A hotel for a while and didn't want to talk to the Candlewood staff about the firearms piled up in my room😅. So I went over to the SF cop shop and stowed my weapons or most of them in the cage. I forgot about the HighPoint. 45 acp pistol I'd gotten as a gift. The look on the armores face was hilarious. All I hear from the stacks is "wow who owns the starship troopers cannon" and that's how I met everyone in my new squadron

I love hi-points. Anything that makes guns more accessible to everyone is a win. A cheap and reliable option.
Im in Texas and the other day a wanted felon shot a cop after intentionally ramming him with his vehicle and then ran onto the freeway and started shooting at random drivers to try to carjack them and shot a woman in her car before police gunned him down. So being gunless and living paycheck to paycheck with a wife and daughter to protect I was thinking I need a gun. This gun was 160 dollars new. Now I got basic protection for me and mine. 👍

The issue was definitely with the extended magazine when you grip the gun you're also gripping a tiny piece of the magazine which is Shifting the magazine in the mag well causing the malfunction if you put in the factory 10-round magazine you won't have a problem

@@coltonstallings5340 you count "shitty" as a bad word? Well fuck, im going to have to change up all my internet comments.
I'm pretty sure it is the promag and those things are known shit in the hipoints.

Blowback actions require massive slides. A 20mm autocannon would need a slide weighing 500-pounds.
