New weird products, such as a single action hammer fired pistol in a new weird caliber that no one's ever heard of that's marketed as a "Bear killer" are VERY hard to market. This gun has a LOT of really interesting tech in it and stands margins above normal handguns in terms of power and penetration. But who knows that really, until they see it for themselves? Sending one out to a few dozen high subscriber gun channels is instant free advertising that will get their foot in the door and solidify their place in the market since people don't have to wonder if the gun is trash or not.

my parents had one until late 2000. they gave it to my grandma and she drove it for several more years. I always thought that was surely the last operable Aerostar, never saw another one.

The 7.5fk round is especially powerful. It was designed specifically to match the terminal velocity of an AK-47 round (7.62x39) at 100 meters except to be from a pistol. It is extremely powerful and is more than capable of putting down a 500lb bear at 50 meters almost instantly. These rounds DO NOT mess around.
Sounds like a good sidearm for when the government sends out their alphabet agencies whenever they finally decide to try for a hostile takeover.

So i dont see how the 7.5fk hollowpoint is blown out of the water by 9mm hollowpoint if it already has more penetrating power than the 9mm fmj. perhaps you were confused about something or i am the one confused about your benchmark for a better round?

@@non9886 I think it might have gone through maybe 1-2 more if that's the case, it's most likely the fact it has a pocket of air larger than the projectile.
What happens is that it loses a lot of energy with the impact, but it also directs the energy it could not stop in other directions
So when it hits the second wall of the canister it's going to have a lot less energy affecting it than if the plates were just side by side.
That blew me away too. My feeling is the metal is quite hard plus there was an actual vacuum ,then the round shape. Also hollow points are the exact wrong ammo for this. If he had AP or even fmj ball it would be better. I would love to see Larry Vickers with it after watching him make 250 yard hits with a 10mm Glock.

You can't get rifle-grade performance out of a Tokarev, which is closer to 5.7x28, designed to be a high-capacity sidearm for use within 50m or so. A Five-Seven will hold 30 rounds, but if you want to make 100+m shot you'd need to switch to a carbine. These are acceptable parameters for what these sidearms were designed for, but the FK BRNO Field Pistol (and it's more affordable little brother, the PSD) are designed to function as a second weapon with rifle-grade performance to a range of about 150m. It also carries enough energy to be a reliable one-shot shot on a hog, without needing to hit any vital organs directly. This is similar performance to 6.8 SPC, albeit with a more limited range as a tradeoff for its compact size. It is worth noting that, like the 5.7mm (and I believe the Tokarev as well), the 7.5 FK makes short work of Level IIIA ballistic protection.
