Hello, Yes, started in October 2016, since last December 17, haven't got the time to play much, I will have to re-learn the four songs I already knew how to play it :-(
Hey sir, Would you recommend this specific piano for a player like me (16 years old 3 years of practice and wanting a realistic feel) Are you satisfied with your piano or did you find flaws with the p 45 Thanks in advance
Hello Yiruma, Unfortunately I can't honestly recommend the Piano, not that it won't suit you, but because it's pretty much the only piano I've played. I do liked it and the keys are heavy and sensitive to pressure, but I can't compare with others. Also, you have more practice than I do and may not enjoy it as I do for my level. Anyways, this piano is a great choice for anyone who is starting since it's one of the low priced digital piano with weighted keys. Good luck :-)
hi, yes, the sound was recorded plugging the headphone jack from the Piano to a Laptop and then recorded. It was recorded with audacity without adjustments.
whats your sustain pedal usage when playing this? im learning too and currently playing this without pedal, and kinda confused on when should i use it, do you "reset" on each set of 3 chords or something? or just use it all the time?
Hi freedomst, unfortunately, I don't know how to use the pedal. I've tried a couple of times but I have a lot of trouble finding the correct tempo and coordination. I use the pedal pressed all the time, since without it, the music would be much worse then already is. Don't know if I'll ever learn to use the pedal, but if you're learning, don't give up, using the pedal gives the music, a whole different depth and interpretation. good luck :)
Hey, I've got this Piano. Here's a tip for you..push the pedal before you turn it on, then when you turn it on Sustain is on all the time and you push the pedal to turn sustain off. I figured this out on day 1 :) you're welcome.
I've been playing for nine years, and the "correct" way is to reset the pedal with each (set of) chord(s). I do however advice to listen to how it sounds, you are making sound and you should figure out what sounds best to you and not get stuck on theoretical things. I think you can get away with holding the pedal longer on digital piano's than on acoustic, since digital piano's have a finite amount of sounds they can make at the same time (32 for this yamaha p45 I think), whereas a an acoustic piano can make an infinite amount of sounds at the same time (at least theoretically). Keep in mind though, specially when learning and you learn yourself to keep the pedal down all the time, it might work for your piano, but if you play on a different piano it can sound really terrible (I know from experience) and it might be hard to unlearn this. It's something you hear specially with selftrained pianist that play a digital piano (which I was at some point as well). An acoustic piano or a more expensive digital piano will create the sounds from all the keys you touched as long as you hold the pedal down, and specially with pieces like this, that is not something you want, because chords have different sounds and emotions and you don't want them all messed up. So it's probably best to learn in the "correct" way, but it really depends on your ambition and for 90% the piano you are playing. Every piano has its own personality and each pedal its own touch. I pedal very lightly on my acoustic piano, whereas I push the pedal down further and longer on my digital piano (and I guess I'm going for the same sound). I would suggest learning yourself to reset the pedal, but it does depend on the piano and the sound you are trying to make. It is just easier to switch piano (or sound) if you know how to do it correctly, since you are a better player. I'm trying to explain as best as I can, since i struggled with how to pedal for a long time and never really got a good answer about it.
I enjoy it, I believe for a beginner is more than appropriate, but it's the first and only one I've ever had or played, so I can't really compare with others :)
Good. Are the speakers located on the top of the piano, or under it? (If they're above the piano, then you can play it on the counter!) I will be so thankful if you answer! And as a suggestion, try to play Chopin's Waltz Op.69 no.2 in B minor. It's easy and realy beautiful!
Hello, The speakers are located under the piano, so the sound is directed towards the floor. Thanks for the suggestion, it's a really nice piece, not sure I can play it but will add it to the list :-)
Hi Bryan, thanks :). No I haven't had any experience prior, except hammering the keys when I saw a piano somewhere and wonder, I wish I could play it :-P I'm a developer by trade for more than 20 years, I spend most of my day coding and I really believe all this coding helped me with the Piano. Every coder out there should start playing :-D. Oh and despite the aparent progress, I'm now trying to learn Chopin Nocturne in C Sharp Minor and I'm finding so difficult so still a lot to pratice. Have fun!
I'm a coder as well, web frontends, I agree! I started playing around a year ago too, I've only learned fur elise though, I dont get very much time to play. Found your video searching for a better piano (I have a casio lk175 with no touch sense or key weight) and I wanted better sound and touch sensitivity so I ordered the P45! Cheers.
That's great, take time to play. I try to play whenever I can, even if it is just for 5 min. Fur elise for example, i already don't remember the last part of the song, since I can't pratice as much as would like to, i try to play at least the ones I know as often as possible. Cheers
I will really appreciate if you answer this because I have been struggling for a while. I have the same piano, I tried to record midi but it kills the sound. I want to record the way you do. You mentioned in the comments that you connect it to your pc and use audacity. But do you hear yourself playing? Are you wearing earphones? Maybe you use splitter adapter? I would highly appreciate if you answer this. Have a good day!
Thanks a lot! To be quite honest, the sheet there is just for recording. I like the touch it gives (as the wine, which i drink, a lot :-D ). I know the bare bare bones of reading sheet music. The only music I learned by reading was the first one I learned to play (prelude in C major by Bach) and it took me a lot of time to interpret the sheet. After that, I discovered synthesia on youtube and it has been my "tutor" since. I figured that I will never read music like one should, and starting to play at 40, you should pick your battles. This one in particular, took me quite some time, I learned the first 2 min, then was exausted and stopped, only picked it again a few months later due to lack of time. I play it a little bit better than the video, but it is still a long way to masterpieces we hear around here. If I had the time, I would learn to use the pedal, which would help. Anyways, it's always fun! :-)
Ok cool. Yeah reading music is soo hard. Just started learning it. Yup, the pedal would give this piece a bit more emotion. I actually have the same stage piano, however I am not that happy with it. But those digital pianos can be soooo expensive! Haha Thanks for your answer! 😊

Hi Pianist! :) I have the same piano but I don’t have an idea how to record video with good sound quality. How did You do that? Any cable? Or good record device?
Hello Piotr, I use a really old laptop (Acer Aspire 1640) that has 3 jack entries, one for headphones, and the others 2 for mic and line-in. I plug a jack-jack cable from the headphone out of the piano to the line-in of the laptop and record using it the free software audacity. That's why the sound is straight from the piano. Enjoy playing and good luck with your recordings :-) Merry Christmas

Thank you for the qiuck answer, I'm thinking what piano should I buy... and it must be a cheap piano.. I think I'll buy this Yamaha P45B , and one more question.. are the keys made of plastic?
Yes, the keys are plastic, but they don't look or feel cheap. If anything, as someone pointed out in this video th-cam.com/video/DfGiPYiUqUE/w-d-xo.html, they make some noise when hitting them hard. I mainly play with headphones so I never noticed it :)

Hi dude can you help me? i bought this piano and i love it, but i think high notes have low volume. When i play at night with low volume i can barely hear the last octave, is it normal?
Hi Sofia, the sound was recorded using an old laptop. I plugged the laptop to the piano using the headphone jack entry on the piano and used the audacity free software to record it. The sound comes straight from the piano so I needed to add it to the video afterwards.

Do you still play the piano?
It would be interesting to see how you have progressed.
did you learn this piece from sheet music or synthesia ?
Hi hikmah, I learned the music from synthesia on youtube. The sheet on the video is just for the recording, it isn't even the sheet for this music :-D
Boa sorte :-)
Nice work!! What do you think about yamaha p 45?
Do you have that problem where D0 D1 D2 notes on the piano have alot more bass around them?
Hello Winer! Just checking, has your Yamaha P45 held up over the years? How are the keys? Thanks!
Sir how did you record?
Play Clair de lune pls😰
I wish i could :-) it's a great song
Hi dude can you help me? i bought this piano and i love it, but i think high notes have low volume. When i play at night with low volume i can barely hear the last octave, is it normal?
set it to grand piano 2,its much better
Pensé que se le iba a caer el vaso xd
Parabéns meu velho 👏
Obrigado Nicholas :-)
Hi. How do you merge audio with the video? Which software do you use?
Just audio record on android its good to go
45k views for yamaha p45
what did you use to record the sound Piano P45B?
Its not the op 9 no 2 piece.
it's an exercise of approximation
Nice playing! How did you record the sound?
Hi Sofia, the sound was recorded using an old laptop. I plugged the laptop to the piano using the headphone jack entry on the piano and used the audacity free software to record it. The sound comes straight from the piano so I needed to add it to the video afterwards.
Wow! That’s a late Beethoven experience... in that you were playing without hearing any sound? Whether or not this were the case, impressive still.
Nice. How did you record the sound?
Hi, I hooked a laptop to the headphone jack on the Piano and used Audacity software to record the sound.
mt bommm, amei.
Wow
You can touch Ballade No 1 of Chopn
Can I have a drink?
Your hands so big!
If you play and film just dont do error
Quer tocar bebendo pô! Óbvio que vai errar alguma coisa Kkkkk
Play Liszt- Mephisto wlatz no.1 but make sure that wine glass stay there (;

Dont be to emotional when playing it will make your viewer become sleepy
:-) wine does that!
Me desagrada esa copa ahí
0:20 dude you destroyed Chopin’s whole career lol u need more to practice
Stop taking a sip of all he wine, whatever you do at the beginning of the video it annoys me
I'm sorry it annoys you. You wouldn't imagine the sips I've to had before the recording was half decent. Sometimes I find myself wondering if I'm recording for the music or for the wine. :-)
Haha , that is kind of funny haha.
The Winer Pianist Just drink it at the end ahahahaha little cheat
