Great video Eric! I have been eyeing this little bird and you make it look like a total blast to fly. Nice flying skills as usual bud. Thanks for sharing and as always, happy flying!
I've been waiting to see the 120x in action, so thanks! When you grabbed it at the end I noticed your blades were very loose. You probably already know it will fly better if you tighten them down some.
The tail wag seems common to this heli as I have seen it on others also. There is a lot of slop in the head and tail that could be improved on IMHO. You will more than likely be seeing aluminum upgrades for this bird real quick.
Being impatient, I did my maiden flight this afternoon in a pretty good wind. This bird is going to be fun. Wind wasn't a problem at all. I also noticed a tail wag. FFF tracked without problem. Also heard a strange buzz lifting off a couple of times. No idea what it was. I need more batteries!
that heli looks pretty stable when hovering too. nice flying, I like seeing the circuits and simple stunts, as that is all the more I want to do, and lets me see how the 130x performs for those.
Nice flying Eric and good video work Candy...Thanks for giving us a real first look at this Heli without the hype from Blade..Too bad the flight time is only 4 min.. Kind of like the Mcpx..
This heli is amazing and it can stand very hard hits without to break. I flyed right into the wall and it was just to contuine to fly after. I do have some flaws but overall it is the best micro on the market by far.
Yes, 3d flying refers to the ability of a helicopter to fly inverted. Negative pitch refers to the ability of the blades to angle enough to let the heli achieve lift even while inverted. A little negative pitch will also help bring a heli back down when it is right side up. Think of a fan that could blow air frontward and backward simply by adjusting the angle of the fan blades.
Everyone I have seen comes with the blades loose out of the box. Not sure why E-Flite is shipping them that way. Everyone I know is having to tightening the blades.
I think your heli skills are just fine Eric just fine. Better than mine anyway. Just got mine and I love it. I am still trying to hover in all the directions but I'll get there one day :-)
On a collective pitch heli the left stick controls the collective, which is what makes it go up or down. It actually has an idle up which spins the blades at a constant speed and all elevation changes are made by changing the collective which is just another way of saying that it changes the angle of the blades relative to the ground. That allows you to hover and fly inverted. I'm a pretty new pilot and the hardest thing about it is the orientation. But it sure is fun to do. Try a sim.
Hey, nice flight. I have one negative comment though. When you're whizing around, doing your little tricks, you ALWAYS return tail in to hover. You need to be, especially when you're a beginner, completely un-reluctant to hover in other orientations such as nose-in or side-in, and master those as your second nature and perform in all the differentiations as well as you do tail-in before preceding to doing 3-D, just a tip. Keep up the flying :)
Joe, do you have the tail vibration on spool up? I just got mine and it came defective out of the box. The TTube metal gear popped off on spool up, fixed that, then the tail vibrated like crazy and the tail exploded right off the heli.
hi joe nice flying just got the 130x,one question once your in stunt mode and you flip it over to do inverted do you push the left stick ( elevator mode 2) down to keep it in the air? do the aileron dual rates need to be up high to flip it? i have everything on 100% apart from alieron which is on 60% which im comfetable with,i dont have a sim to try these things..thanks subscribed..
i never understood '3d flying' does that refer to the ability to fly upside down? And does that mean that engines will go the opposite way? IS that what 'negative throttle' refers to ??
hmmmm I dont trust the tail gear set up I think I will stick with the mcpx until I hear more about the 130x as time passes. Nice flying by the way I can't believe how far these ultra micro blades have come from the msr days barely 18 months ago, from fixed pitch flybar set ups to collective pitch torque tube flybarless set ups next they will have crash proof training setups as standard like helicommand and the coaxial will be a distant memory!
I don't know if you still watch , but I've be flying 20 years and still can't do good rolls , depends on the machine, some machines will let me do it easy and others ,not so much. I mainly fly invert tail out
I was bought a decent twin rotor "gyro" r/c heli for xmas and man is it fun. It's got me instantly hooked on r/c helis. I know it's a million miles from the one you fly in the video but what would you recommend I get next to further advance what skills I have, which by the way aren't many, lol. Thanks in advance.
You know what? I'm GLAD you're an intermediate pilot. As a new pilot, I want to see how a heli can fly smoothly around, almost scale-like. The 3D stuff is so far beyond me, I don't even want or need to see it. What I want is a CP heli that is affordable and smooth flying. I would buy a brushless 3D one, but I would tune it down to beginner level controls in the radio. When you DO get to be better, please don't forget to do some smooth, scale flying in your vids, OK? ;)
so if no 3d why not slow the head and save battery power? idk I'm just askin. cause I'm really lookin into something like this I like the blade 200s but come on its 2018 who wants a tail motor now days
I know this is an old comment but for those who may be wondering I'll share my experience. I just got a used 130x and it's my first driven tail micro heli, the tail is the best and worst part of this heli, lol. If the head speed is too low and the collective pitch is too high it'll create more torque than the tail can handle and it'll kick out when you punch the collective. However if the head speed is higher then so is the tail speed, so when you punch the collective the tail is a lot stronger and can hold better, plus you lose less overall headspeed when it's at a higher power level. Basically both rotors' pulling power is the square (rather then directly proportional) of the speed (I believe),so a 20% increase in speed equals about 45% more pulling power. I tried low head speed and low pitch, and it works, but the tail is right at the edge of its holding power and can kick out at any time, unexpectedly.
Well the maybe he has some models that uses more then lets say 8 channels. And like I said it has a nicer feel at least I think so. I have both the DX7s and DX8 they don't compare to the programming options the DX18 has.
Buy a flight sim, then get a cheap co-axial to transfer what you've learned from the sim to a real heli, next would be a fixed pitch and then move onto a collective pitch. Do all of this before buying the Airwolf heli.
I've flown it about 20 times so far this month and it is still going strong. The 130X is a great small collective heli to take along on trips.
This is an amazing micro heli and is capable of way more than I can do with it. Thanks for watching and the great comment George.
It has a good feel to it and I like the fact that you can't break the antenna on this one as easy as the older ones.
Thanks for watching and the support Tom.
I wanted the radio and now I've finally got one so I will be putting all my new models on this one to give it a good testing.
It's a great new addition to the blade line for sure. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for watching and the comment Tim.
A sim is a good place to start and continue to practice with after you purchase your first heli.
i ordered mine! been having fun with the mcpx for months, time to move up a bit. this looks to be more fun. no more tail blow outs! tnx for the vids.
Yall did great thanks. I like my 130x to.
Very nice, these little helis are getting crazy!! Good 3d flying too, I just love the sound even the smaller ones make going inverted.
Yeah the time on the battery is the only thing I don't like so far. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the comment. I may be trying this video format out more often in the future.
Great video Eric! I have been eyeing this little bird and you make it look like a total blast to fly. Nice flying skills as usual bud. Thanks for sharing and as always, happy flying!
You really seem to be a really good pilot & enjoy your videos & you seem to enjoy doing them! Happy flying!
It's the heli! lol... Thanks for watching.
I've been waiting to see the 120x in action, so thanks! When you grabbed it at the end I noticed your blades were very loose. You probably already know it will fly better if you tighten them down some.

Thanks Steve.
that heli looks pretty stable when hovering too.

hi Joe, very nice video, simple and to the point. Nice flying and thanks for sharing.
Great job Eric. You do pretty good with the helicoptor. Great video.
It's a great radio so far.
Nice flying, pretty awesome stuff, that dx18 is pretty cool too!
Joe, enjoyed your video, your a pilot for the rest of us. Just plain good flying.
Yes the 6i will work with the 130x
Thanks for watching and the support. I really appreciate it.
Hi Eric
great review and flight, congrats on hitting 12 Mil views.. Awesome Milestone.. Tim
Not sure what the head speed is on this one. But with the battery life at four minutes I would guess it is high.
great vid Eric - thanks - - finally some flying not just that crazy crap as you technically call it - let us know how you like the 18
truly you are the bob ross of the the rc world! not a bad thing tho as i am a painter and a heli addict...
Nice flying Eric and good video work Candy...Thanks for giving us a real first look at this Heli without the hype from Blade..Too bad the flight time is only 4 min.. Kind of like the Mcpx..
Looking good that lil joker is quick isn't it. To me its stable as a 450. Be blessed
Man You got me on this one!!! I am gonna get one of those!!! Thanks! Great video!!!
This heli is amazing and it can stand very hard hits without to break. I flyed right into the wall and it was just to contuine to fly after. I do have some flaws but overall it is the best micro on the market by far.
im just teasing of course its just so spektrum. Nice radio
Eric; Nice flying the 130x looks nice! But you are a great pilot also!

That's about as hard as it gets for me right now. It takes a while for me to learn a new maneuver.
again, nice flying!
that sure looks to be really stable or you're just really good :) thumbs up!
nice very nice joe i just got mine also and it is a great machine well thought out fly's great great job joe
Congrats on 15 mil views and awesome..tim
Hey, I got the dx6I and it works just fine on the 130 x
I think your heli skills are just fine Eric just fine. Better than mine anyway. Just got mine and I love it. I am still trying to hover in all the directions but I'll get there one day :-)
Nice video. I'm picking one up on Dec 31st. It'll be fun. Your video was perfect instead of seeing all the hard core 3D stuff.
Hay I just bought one and was wondering you found the dx18 setup can't find it anywhere thanks
blave549; if you consider the blade spinning as one big wing they do have ailerons in a way ; )
so I should start with the mcpx? I've been looking at both. I've only played with 3-4 channel helis..
When will you have the one bladed main, and tail ready????
Thanks!
On a collective pitch heli the left stick controls the collective, which is what makes it go up or down. Thank you! I always enjoy your vides
hej eric i have a dx6i and a 130 x but i can't get the right settings can u do a settings vid on dx6i
Is it suitable for someone who has mastered flying a Blade mSR? and wants to move on to collective pitch?
Is this helicopter suitable for someone who has mastered flying a Blade mSR and wants to move on to collective pitch?
Yes , in my oppinion you made a ok choice but I would of went with the mcpx bl or 130x
That's what I've seen also.
Joe, do you have the tail vibration on spool up? I just got mine and it came defective out of the box. The TTube metal gear popped off on spool up, fixed that, then the tail vibrated like crazy and the tail exploded right off the heli.
*cough*got it*cough* Thanks for watching.
how long does the battery last?

can this be compared to a t-rex 250 or its clones ?
i never understood '3d flying' does that refer to the ability to fly upside down? And does that mean that engines will go the opposite way? IS that what 'negative throttle' refers to ??
grazie eric!
hi joe, is my dx6i will work on this 130 x? please reply, i subscribed to your channel.. thank you so much.
hmmmm I dont trust the tail gear set up I think I will stick with the mcpx until I hear more about the 130x as time passes. DX18 is 18 channels you only need 6 so 12 more. :) and you have a nicer feel to it which results in a better flight. :)
I was bought a decent twin rotor "gyro" r/c heli for xmas and man is it fun. It's got me instantly hooked on r/c helis. blade mqx msrx,120sr,or mcpx, wouldnt reccomend a brushless heli yet, happy flying bud
Do you like Specturm radios or Futaba the best? Great vid and flying!
DX 18 Radio? What? What would you need 18 channels for an aircraft carrier?
You know what? I'm GLAD you're an intermediate pilot. As a new pilot, I want to see how a heli can fly smoothly around, almost scale-like. When you DO get to be better, please don't forget to do some smooth, scale flying in your vids, OK? ;)
Holy TT..wow nice..might get it..
Hey Joe did I make a mistake buying a 450x instead of a 130x? I haven't been flying that long.
Nice flight Joe, how is it running after about a year?
so if no 3d why not slow the head and save battery power? idk I'm just askin. cause I'm really lookin into something like this I like the blade 200s but come on its 2018 who wants a tail motor now days

I have RC planes, but not helis. how do you fly upside down with a heli?
1st view, good review looking to pick one up to. THX

I know it's 18 channels, I was more wondering why you chose the DX18 over say the DX8.
Lol.. Thanks Troy
Bet it was sent to him for review.
pretty good pilot.
No, I would not suggest the 130x to a new pilot. I suggest a flight sim first, then working your way through helis from simple to more complex.
I have only problems with this pff have it since its out and fly i like 5times :( stupid gears.
i heard the least you can get these for is 279.99
sounds good to me! lol...
thanks for the video. BTW helicopters don't have ailerons 8^) .
Is this guy more noisy than the MCPX?
Sir, a more popular "famous last words" would be "hold my beer!"
Buy a flight sim, then get a cheap co-axial to transfer what you've learned from the sim to a real heli, next would be a fixed pitch and then move onto a collective pitch. Do all of this before buying the Airwolf heli.
Good. :)
I like my 3D mild
Copy that brother! Nice job
In accordance with my skills- you can do some crazy crap!!! LOL
15 Mil views =)
