Thank you for this video, a big help for someone who's only just got into collective. Got my XK K110 about a month ago and after some normal circuit flight practice and then some fun with idle up practice (and a couple repairs here and there) I've managed a couple flips, rolls and a little bit of inverted! Still learning my orientations for linking flips together but I've got the basics nearly down now, definitely feels a little scary the first couple times I gotta say.
Dude! Excellent tips! I am a newbie CP helicopter pilot. I hate the fact that MOST vids out there show you inverted flight and tips on a frikin simulator...come on man...who cannot do that? It's safe and there's no chance of damaging your expensive rc heli. Your vids are 100% REAL and practical...thanks man I'll be tuning into ur vids to help me become a better CP pilot.
I sure wish you were still posting these "how to" videos. I really like the way you teach and you helped me a lot. I assume you just got married and have to work like the rest of us. Whatever the reason, I would love to see you doing teaching videos. Either way, thanks a million for the videos you did post. Good luck.
Aaron …. thanks for the excellent video. I am just getting into this after a 20 year layoff from RC …. believe it or not. You are a natural born teacher …. you have the passion. Thanks a whole lot!!
I love watching videos of what others can do which gives me the desire to keep trying.. I'm still such a noob I'm working on getting my directionals in check.. Biggest thing I loved about your video is explaining what it is you are doing with the sticks. too many show you doing these tricks but few have explained how they do them. Great job. I can't wait to see what your other videos are like. Thank you!!
Man I dont know what to say to you but thanks so much... I tried all day to learn to flip my nano and my mcpx bl and kept failing and failing watching your video just helped me out so much!! Thanks
look at all those rc helis!!! You must have some wonderful parents! Good lesson! I was trying to learn to flip with aileron rolls, gonna try the forward flip.
Yeah my parents are definately supportive of me in this hobby. Also another nice thing is my dad flies with me. About half of those helis are his. And next episode of learning 3d will be of aileron rolls and half piro flips.
lol. Thats the whole reason i started this series because nobody does them in real life, its always on the simulator or they just tell you but they dont show you. Glad this video helped you out. :)
Thanks Aaron for the lesson, I have just brought a NANO CP S after learning to fly my BLADE mSR S. I have been trying to flip the CP S but now you have explained it really well so I will give it a go.
I am new to helicopters and I have a blade nano s3. I am having trouble moving from stunt 1 to stunt 2. Do you have a recommendation for rates and expo? I have tried many combinations without success. I modified the throttle curve to be the same in all modes for the time being.
can't wait to try this when I get my spare parts and get my micro heli back in the air I always see people going crazy doing 3d but no one ever shows the stick inputs I think that will help when I start flying again thanks dude you have some sick skills
Great video. This is exactly what I needed to know. I just got my first 3D heli (an XK K100) after flying 4 channel helis for about 6 years. I was surprised how touchy the controls were in idle up 3D mode as opposed to 6G mode and couldn't even hover in 3D mode. I'll have to learn to be gentle with the sticks.
Hello Aaron, Many THANKS of your professional /educatuonal video. I would like to learn more from you as I am a beginner. I have a Blade Nano CPX/s and DX8.
I was thinking a little bit about this as a noob to 3D flight and what might be a neat idea for a learning tool might be to go over all the different flight maneuvers, show them, and show the flight control inputs that yield the specific results. For example what are tic tocs? What is blowing out the tail? (I think you overcome the compensation of the tail rotor and have the heli spin uncontrollably for some duration of time) But again, great video and I look forward to learning more!
Hi Aaron, thanks so much for your time and expertise. I am, let's just say, on youngster, and I have been flying the Wl V911-V912 FP heli. I am dying to try a CP heli (looking at the Wl V950) but as there are no clubs in my area and l'm a bit too old to go and ask young lads for help, I had absolutely no idea really about the physics of CP helis. Done a bit of research on the web and began to understand it, but was still nervous, until I saw your vidio. Thanks so much, it gave me that final push and I'm going for it.
i learned to fly helis about 10 yrs ago on a Raptor 30 but never progressed beyond just flying figure 8's and stall turns. I could never enjoy flying it because of fear of crashing it. I got out of helis soon after and didn't try it again until just recently when I got a blade 230s. I got very comfortable and relaxed flying it. I have bad trouble staying oriented with helis of any size, I just can't see them that well I guess, so i never tried any stunts. I put 101 flights on the 230s and finally decided to try flips and loops. I tried flips to the right from a high hover. The first two weren't pretty at all and i had to switch back to normal mode, the next few were better, but still nothing to be proud of, other than I didn't crash and I was able to get it under control on my own. The loop from forward flight went better but after 2 minutes, my adrenaline was so high and my hands were shaking so bad that I could barely get it into a decent hover to land it. Lol I might try it again one day. Your video helps , so with this new knowledge, maybe my next flips will be better.
Thanks from down under. Been flying the 4 channel blade 200 srx for 6 months now. Yes you can loop and roll in advanced mode, and hit the panic button if you lose it . Although i just like intermediate mode for normal flying. I've just put a deposit on the ares optimum 300 cp. It looks like a great unit for introductory 3d flying. It has an automatic flip switch in basic mode. I will use your tips on how to flip it in 3 axis mode. So thanks for the lesson. Nice work. ☺
nice vid man, well done and helps a lot. The only thing I would suggest is to talk a bit louder, hard to hear you sometimes.. But really awesome vid man... Thank you.
I got my Mcpx v2 inverted for the first time ever after I watched this. I was always to chicken to try it but I did exactly what you said to do and after a couple tries I nailed it! Thanks man.
great vid!!! could u do a series of video tutorials on how to fly 3d? for example this would be a great first video for the series and im sure videos on how to 3d fly would be REALLY helpful to a lot of people trying to figure it out on their own..
Ok so I watched your vids around 3 months ago, and so my first heli was this one - damn they are not easy to fly at all. But i have just over 650mins of flying it and the motor is going out for the 2nd time. But this thing is crash proof. I've only got my hover, circles, backwards flying in a straight line, forward 8's sorted at this time. So last night I after watching sooo many 'how to invert your heli' vids I was on my sim and finally got it going on a 700 size. The training that the sim gives is too difficult to do so I went to normal flight from tail in to a forward flip as you then 'fly the tail' and left and right was explained elsewhere as 'flying into your fault' to correct. So after 2 hrs playing inverted I changed to do this on the ncpx on the sim and it is definitely more zippy to control. This morning I saw this video again and there are really some good tips here. Others are good but here are explained why you do and dont do things. Thx very much for this - I think in 3-4 months I want to get the trex 450L. Im not much of the 3d stuff but inverted sport flying is where I want to go with this hobby. And tick tocks are my next thing.
Thanks. Your dad told me about your channel the other day when I was in to pick up my nano cpx tail motor re-wired. Great stuff man, keep up the good work!
Great job :) mcpx is what I started on to.. great advice.. you should do some setup videos on the micros will really help a lot of newbs out.. +1 on the safety even the micros hurt bad lol Have a great weekend :)
thank you for this lil vid, especially for the little tx finger on view, i have always wanted a little square screen in corner with a view of the finger on the tx like PIP function on tv
Ok man i appreciate it, out of all the tutorials i have watchs yours are the best, and i can definatly tell your a fan of blade, i thought about getting the cpx for a while untill i got the axe ssl, and i definatly like the idea of learning 3d on micros it will save A LOT of money, hope to see more videos soon
You are awesome, lot to learn from you. Thanks for taking time to post it. Your skills are admirable. Apart from the flight I hv to learn a lot about the settings I guess. There are some tricks on the settings that will make your flight more comfortable. I am good at linear, trying hard to do 3D without crashing. 😀👍👏🙏
Wow.... What can I say....!!! Out of a thousand videos I've watched this is the best one so far... And I dare myself to say that there is not gonna be another better than this one .. Excellente video my friend.... Very well explained... Thank you very much... You are the man in command...!!!!
That was really nice. I got to try in my new WL 922. I am a beginner and would like to see more of the videos how each control works and how to correct.... like for example all the controls are at 50% (aileron, rudder ,,..) but the heli has a constant left motion or a forward motion. or how to do the trim adjustments
Can't stop watching this lol - today's post should bring a Hisky fbl 100 :) I intend to practice practice practice stable flight prior to attempting any flips or inverted hover - your tips hopefully will prove invaluable in a week or so as I brave my first flip.
Thank you. And one if the best things to work on is getting your orientations down perfect. You want all your upright orientations to be locked in and easy by the time you go to flips
Wow! Excellent explanations! Yes it helped me. I am still practicing on a fix pitch heli the Blade 70 S. I have trouble of juste cruising in circle. Hovering is ok. I am waiting to master it before to go variable pitch. I do try it on the RealFlight Sim. With your demonstration I should do better next time. thank you.
Great video, really useful. I wish you had a separate cam focused on your radio when doing the 3D which could be inserted to the main video. If possible, please do incorporate this in your learning series.. Can't wait for the new episodes.. Thank you so much......
Awesum!!! I CAN FLIP !!! Great instructions... It took me a handful of crashes but I finally got my nano flipping... (first flips ever for me) not pretty looking flips but flips none the less... thanks dude... =)
Hi Aaron! After watching this video I successfully did my fist flip with my Mini CP on my first attempt! Sadly, my 2nd and 3rd attempts were crashes but I know what I did wrong. Thanks for the awesome video
Great job Thank you You make it not so scary to try.now i would love to see a simple video on these pitch curves this curve that curve all the curves i don't understand it and why some people like more of this then that .your a good teacher keep up the good work and again thank's
That was a very nice presentation, Aaron. If I may make a suggestion, it would be that you should take your time, and slow down your talking. Other than that, your instructions and tips are excellent! Another good rule-of-thumb when teaching, is this: 1) Tell your student/s WHAT you're going to show them. 2) Tell them HOW you're going to show them. 3) Demonstrate what the sticks do without the heli running. 4) Show the stick movements with the heli running. You did steps 3 and 4 very well! Thanks, Aaron. Keep up the great work.
Hi Aaron , Great videos ! I just wanted to know if you can share your Throttle Curve, Pitch Curve and DR-EXPO settings for 3D Mode for the nano that you are flying..it would be great. thanks so much. I am just not able to turn the Heli full 360..In indoors..would appreciate your reply. Thanks so much in advance.
Aaron cool name! Thought your video was really cool and informative. Yet to try a flip cause i am waiting on parts and still getting all upright orentations down. I fly in mode 4 is then any advantages to mode 2 or is it just closer to a real life heli controls?
Great vid , and thanx for keepin it real, I put the ali upgrade on my v911 and am sure it dosent perfom as well as it was stock. Have just recieved my V944 4ch, will get up to speed on this, then try 6ch. Well done.
the best how to, video that I have found yet, thank you so much for it.....I could never understand why most of these hot shots could never tell how they did those tricks and what would it take.... you have giving me hope again... haaaa, now, when you guys say idle up" do you mean stunt switch? when I move this switch to the on position will the hell keep going up or there is a minimum hight that it will stop.... great video guys, hope to see how you do the side flips or rolls stick movements, that makes it so much easier ...
yeah when i say idle up that is your stunt mode. and if set up properly all it does is maintain a constand headspeed no matter what pitch control you are giving. And yes definately look forward to more learning 3d. :)
the simulators are good but not 100% spot on. the power to weight ratio is "fake" and not good. when you flip your mcpxsince it is slower then the nanocpx hold forward on your cyclic (right stick) longer and give as little collective as you can.dont be aggressive when first learning on the mcpx.you want nice smooth suddle inputs.also run your pitch positive and negative about 80.this gives you more pitch still without really blowing out the tail. Hope this helped.happy flying
i will maybe give it a shot.i dont do it because it doesnt charge the batteries as well but i can do a tutorial on that. the next episode is gonna be on hivering inverted and simple inverted flight but the video after that ill possibly do that tutorial . thanks for the suggestion :)
hi Aaron. When i flip my 3g/6g switch on my (stock) remote for the xk k110, should i be able to set different gyro values? Like when you do when you set idle up? Because it seems i can't, it only allows to set one value. So i don't really see any noticeable difference between 3g and 6g, probably because of the only one setting. Finally, when i hit idle up it goes in full head speed, but i still can't really do flips. I noticed my gear was stripped so probably a lot of these issues have to do with that , i.e. lack of head speed. 1. Should i be able to set different values when toggling the 3g/6g switch 2. Idle up does what it's supposed to do but no discernible difference in flight other then the constant head speed. 3. Should i set things like reverse? 4. What does EXP do ? Thanks!
Thanks so much for offering your skills and help. I'm 51 years old. Keep teaching my friend!
Thank you for this video, a big help for someone who's only just got into collective. Because sims show stick movements easily and more accurately

Very clear demonstration thanks! I look forward to seeing your radio setup suggestions.
I have an Align Trex 150 with Futaba that I am getting pretty ballzy with. This was great information, Thank You!
ive seen a lot of video on how to invert but ur vid actually helped me out thanks a lot man keep them coming
Thanks Aaron, I learned how to flip and hover inverted from this video. Thank you. I'm a much better pilot now. Real talk
GREAT VIDEO AARON, very educational. Keep up the good work. I really enjoyed it.
I am new to helicopters and I have a blade nano s3. I am having trouble moving from stunt 1 to stunt 2. Do you have a recommendation for rates and expo? I have tried many combinations without success. I modified the throttle curve to be the same in all modes for the time being.

Agree with what you say at 2:30 - the engineers that design these things know what they are doing.
Great Job Like your video will help a lot of people. Keep up the good work. Glad you also mentioned about safety. Thumbs UP :D
I can now flip my heli in all directions because of this video. Thanks man!
Hi Aaron, thanks so much for your time and expertise. I am, let's just say, on youngster, and I have been flying the Wl V911-V912 FP heli. I'm 33, but if an 8 year old can help me (and they have) progress in CP 3D rc heli then I will gladly listen. No clubs in my area either
Your a great teacher for such a young age. U get a thumb up!

Thank you.
Can't wait for some more 3d vids.Your vids are the only ones out there that I've learned from thanks!!
Thank you, come summer ill get plenty more learning 3d videos out
I got my Mcpx v2 inverted for the first time ever after I watched this. I was always to chicken to try it but I did exactly what you said to do and after a couple tries I nailed it! Thanks man.

Great job :) mcpx is what I started on to.. great advice.. you should do some setup videos on the micros will really help a lot of newbs out.. +1 on the safety even the micros hurt bad lol
Have a great weekend :)
stright forward teaching.. great instruction. thanks
This was a great help for me...you explain it very clear, thanks!
thank you for this lil vid, especially for the little tx finger on view, i have always wanted a little square screen in corner with a view of the finger on the tx like PIP function on tv
Great video Aaron. Thanks for all your tips!
Ok man i appreciate it, out of all the tutorials i have watchs yours are the best, and i can definatly tell your a fan of blade, i thought about getting the cpx for a while untill i got the axe ssl, and i definatly like the idea of learning 3d on micros it will save A LOT of money, hope to see more videos soon
great video! You explained this trick a lot more clearly than other videos
You are awesome, lot to learn from you. Thanks for taking time to post it. Your skills are admirable. Apart from the flight I hv to learn a lot about the settings I guess.
I am a beginner and would like to see more of the videos how each control works and how to correct....
like for example all the controls are at 50% (aileron, rudder ,,..) but the heli has a constant left motion or a forward motion. or how to do the trim adjustments
ill have more videos in the learning 3d series that goes through radio settings and a whole lot more..more episodes to come
thanks buddy going to work very hard at gettin this down glad you got this up very nicely done happy flying my friend !!!
Thank you Aaron. Really enjoyed it and good explaining to. Just waiting for my WLToys v922 to start. Thanks
After continuously trying to hover inverted, I tried this. Did mostly successful flips for the entire life of 2 batteries.
Wow! Excellent explanations! Yes it helped me. I am still practicing on a fix pitch heli the Blade 70 S. I have trouble of juste cruising in circle. Hovering is ok. I am waiting to master it before to go variable pitch. I do try it on the RealFlight Sim. With your demonstration I should do better next time. thank you.
Your very knowledgeable...pry the best I ever seen..I got pretty big into these things.a few years ago..I learned to hover on the old cp pro...
excellent pilot, video & information subscribed
Great video, really useful.
I wish you had a separate cam focused on your radio when doing the 3D which could be inserted to the main video. If possible, please do incorporate this in your learning series..
Can't wait for the new episodes..
Thank you so much......
Thanks Aaron that was really helpful. Please post some more.
Awesum!!! I CAN FLIP !!! Great instructions... It took me a handful of crashes but I finally got my nano flipping... (first flips ever for me) not pretty looking flips but flips none the less... thanks dude... =)
GREAT, that is so awesome now you gotta start to make some flight videos. Glad you got your heli over. :)
Thanks for the lesson.ill now go try on my 230 vs2
I've never seen anyone actually fly these and not crash them, you're insane bro, congrats 👏
Many thanks. Very nice video. Well made !
this heli actually has a gyro under the canopy, and as long as your helicopter is collective pitch then it will flip if properly setup in the radio
Like ur collection of helis.
Thanks a ton for the lesson Aaron. You have amazing skills!!!
Thank you very much :)
Really helpful video, thank you! New to this, gonna try to flip my 130s without totalling it.
good job buddy, great teaching job. keep makeing more!
thank you. i will continue this series, just when i get some free time when i go flying :)
Cool thanks so much I have a feeling I'll keep watching this over and over for awhile
Great job. It would be cool if the controller was on a split screen why'll ur flipping.
ohhh good job! i'll subscribe! thank you so much for the video hope there still more to come! thumbs up man!
Man that is a great video!!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!!
Thanks for video, has been really helpfull. Keep them up !!
Hi Aaron! After watching this video I successfully did my fist flip with my Mini CP on my first attempt! Sadly, my 2nd and 3rd attempts were crashes but I know what I did wrong. Thanks for the awesome video
Awesome and congrats. glad this helped :)
Thanks dude!!! You helped me a lot with this video and now I can flip more better! Thanks again and continue this good job!!! Have nice flights!!!
Excellent video. Explained a lot as a newby. Thank you 🙏🏼
Great video! Can't wait for the next tutorial. Thanks
Great job Thank you You make it not so scary to try.now i would love to see a simple video on these pitch curves this curve that curve all the curves i don't understand it and why some people like more of this then that .your a good teacher keep up the good work and again thank's
Danke! Sehr schön erklärt. Dein Hobbykeller ist aber auch nicht schlecht!!
That was a very nice presentation, Aaron. If I may make a suggestion, it would be that you should take your time, and slow down your talking.
So what should the settings be for the Nano CPX to do what you were doing in this video. Excellent video too.
Great vid, I want that room with all its toys!!
Great vid , and thanx for keepin it real, I put the ali upgrade on my v911 and am sure it dosent perfom as well as it was stock. Have just recieved my V944 4ch, will get up to speed on this, then try 6ch. Well done.
awesome!! and thank you very much
the best how to, video that I have found yet, thank you so much for it.....I could never understand why most of these hot shots could never tell how they did those tricks and what would it take.... you have giving me hope again... haaaa, now, when you guys say idle up" do you mean stunt switch? when I move this switch to the on position will the hell keep going up or there is a minimum hight that it will stop.... great video guys, hope to see how you do the side flips or rolls stick movements, that makes it so much easier ...
yeah when i say idle up that is your stunt mode. and if set up properly all it does is maintain a constand headspeed no matter what pitch control you are giving. And yes definately look forward to more learning 3d. :)
Thank you very much for this video. I learned a lot!
the simulators are good but not 100% spot on. the power to weight ratio is "fake" and not good. when you flip your mcpxsince it is slower then the nanocpx hold forward on your cyclic (right stick) longer and give as little collective as you can.dont be aggressive when first learning on the mcpx.you want nice smooth suddle inputs.also run your pitch positive and negative about 80.this gives you more pitch still without really blowing out the tail.
Hope this helped.happy flying
Very informative. Thanks
Best tutorial aaron, great job, getting the nano in a few days and daaayum im so happpy to learn that soon
thank you . and thank you for the suggestion. i will work on that :)
Learning on the nano cps is a perfect 3d learning machine
Thank you this was very helpful God Bless
i will maybe give it a shot.i dont do it because it doesnt charge the batteries as well but i can do a tutorial on that. the next episode is gonna be on hivering inverted and simple inverted flight but the video after that ill possibly do that tutorial . thanks for the suggestion :)
Nice collection
1. Should i be able to set different values when toggling the 3g/6g switch
2. Idle up does what it's supposed to do but no discernible difference in flight other then the constant head speed.
3. Should i set things like reverse?
4. What does EXP do ?
Thanks!
Great video- very good job!
i finally found what im missing:throttle management! this video helped me flip and do tic-tocs.
Cool man you’re really good 😀😀😀😀👏👏👏🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴
