    As a Filipino, I make this so often I honestly don't even think of it as a dish, it's just... Rice lol...
    It's like differentiating between bread and toast to me

    This is a restaurant style sinangag. Of course, at home, we don't use too much oil. Spring onion is rarely there. We also eat it with a dish and not on its own (unlike Chinese fried rice).

    Beautiful video.
    For those criticizing her use of a saucepan there is Nothing wrong with saucepan. In fact I use the saucepan all the time even though we have a rice cooker. I think someone who is good st their game do don't have to hop on the rice cooker bandwagon. Hiyaa

    Kudos, you took the italian way of infusing garlic with oil. That way you extracted most of the flavor. High heat only burns garlic and you can get a bitter flavor thia way you did it just right. Bravissimo!

    Outstanding. Thanks so much, Chef. I thought I put enough garlic in my version, but apparently, I've been cooking too little of it. So I tried it your way...AND MY GOODNESS! It's a huge difference. This will now be a part of my menu.

    Thank you for the recipe, I tried yesterday. In the video it seems more oil, than actually needed (i put too much). Also I somehow couldn't make myself to salt it with salt and used fish sauce.

    Do Filipinos eat Jasmine rice? Is it common in the Philippines?

    • @Prinren
      @Prinren 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm sure a lot do, but most just use any of the cheaper most fluffy rice types for fried rice. We have like 20 different types of rice. Categorised by long, short/medium and sticky. Imagine those coffee and tea stores where it's like "Lightly roasted with a fruity aroma bla bla" but with rice. Jasmine rice is called Milagrosa, but we also have Dinorado, which is also a fragrant rice sometimes categorised as Jasmine rice.
