  • NOTE: I am not running OEM headlights in this video. I have the USR DEPO Angel Eyes installed. You can find more info about these from the following:
    - USR Website: www.uniquestyl...
    - Bimmerpost thread: f30.bimmerpost...
    My low beam bulb went out on one side so I just decided to replace both so the colors would match. These are h7 bulbs and I am installing some Sylvania ZXE bulbs that I just quickly picked up at a local auto store. There are many other options and I would recommend researching via bimmerpost for your F30 if you have DEPO headlights as well.

    Your volume levels are all over the place here. Make sure when editing to normalize your audio peaks to -6DB

      Matthew Wong Sure thing mate. It'll seem too quiet, but -6DB is a standard for broadcast television and media. It'll make sure your video appears professionally balanced, and also it will ensure that you don't annihilate headphone users watching your stuff. 👍🏼

    Women: You don’t have to pull off the wheel. Turn the wheel to the opposite side and pull off covering. Then fish your hand in and remove the bulb. Watch the front lamp as you replace the new bulb. Use your tactile senses and this converts to an easier less laborious task.
    Benefits of small hands 😅

    Hey man, i had a question. I have these same headlights for my 13 bmw 328i and i have a parking lamp malfunction. Any chance you know the bulb i need to change out?

      Try pulling the bulb out and look at the back. I found mine corroded over time and needed a bit of sanding down to make a better connection. Otherwise it might be the bulb.

    How to change the High beam? The access from top seems to be gone.

    • @MatthewWong
      @MatthewWong  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have replaced your headlights with Depo lights then the access point will be behind the wheel well. You will need to follow all the steps in this video to access it. The high beam is also from the rear I believe. It is a standard h7 bulb as well.

      Matthew Wong the high beams are not accessible with the lights installed :( they're on the side of the light facing the radiator/grill. see this pic, it's the left access panel

    I recently got depo lights installed. Do the low beams seem dim to you? Hard to see at night in certain areas. Wonder if LEDs or hids is worth it

    Do you know if I'd be able to pop in a halogen to LED converter in these headlights as long as they're H7 sized?

    • @MatthewWong
      @MatthewWong  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Should be fine. You should check that it will not throw an error code with the normal halogen headlights (stock first). If they don't then they should work fine. There are a couple guys on bimmerposts on the Depo Light thread that are running LED bulbs if you want to research particular types/ brands.

    How long did you have your Depo lights before running into issues?

    • @MatthewWong
      @MatthewWong  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had the first batch and saw issues with the Angel eyes going out when it rained or got colder. USR updated the LED component after the first batch and sent me the updated controller boards I have not installed yet.
      Def prefer these over the eBay style ones unless your going to LED www.umnitza.com/browse-by-car-model/bmw/3-series/f30-3-series-bmw/bmw-f30-led-headlight-dtm-angel-eyes.html but those are pricey.

    Would you happen to know how to get rid of the "Low Beam on both right and left error code"

    • @MatthewWong
      @MatthewWong  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So depending on your batch you can email USR. Are your headlights working at all? It might just be the LED modules. Otherwise it might take some debugging. I would check the bulbs to see if they are working also

    • @MatthewWong
      @MatthewWong  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I believe you should be able to do it just be removing the slot on the wheel well, and by turning your wheels to max left or right. I just removed so I could film the process. No way to get the camera in there without removing wheel.

    I have a 2016 328i and getting the Low Beam Malfunction message. However, all the lights are functioning, unless I hit a bump then the light goes off, then the message comes back.
    How can I clear this?

    • @MatthewWong
      @MatthewWong  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do you have stock headlights or aftermarket? With my aftermarket I noticed that exact same thing would happen. I would pull my bulbs out and noticed that the connecting points (where the socket contacts the bulb to make a connection) were all corroded. I had to get a small Dremel and sand down the metal and I never got the issue again.

      I just went out there again.. so apparently the left headlight is not adjusting (aiming) after turning on. The right headlight does.
      Is this a faulty module?
