  • It doesn't get better than sleeping under an old tree for the night!
I plan on wild camping in all 15 of the UK's national parks, this time it was the New Forest; 11 down 4 to go.

The New Forest is my local national park! If you find yourself over here again, I'd recommend Rhinefield - where you'll really see some giant sequoias, douglas firs, and redwoods like you'd find in California or Oregon. There are some great spots. Ringwood Brewery is local, and makes some really great beer - the razorback being a favourite pale ale of mine. Enjoying the videos dude!

Lovely video. New Forest is our ‘local’ national park. ‘Forest”, as well as usually meaning a large area of woodland, also means a hunting reserve set aside for royalty and in which special (and draconian) laws applied. That’s the original meaning here. Lesser nobility had ‘chases.’ Just for info.

So, the tiny BRS 3000 stove is quite famous for creating a furious hotspot and destroying nonstick coatings. Its brilliant for boiling water, but cooking and frying can get a bit challenging. I can't remember where, but I came across a lightweight hack, that really works a treat. It revolves around half a mesh sphere, from those tea clampy things, you can pick up for peanuts, in the kitchen utensils isle. The half sphere fits perfectly between the folding potstands. You have to put a dent in the mesh with your thumb, but it really does a great job in dissipating heat more evenly.

Hey Liam, not sure about the UK but in Australia we have a thing called ‘back burning’ where the fire brigade will burn sections of forest in a controlled manner so that if a wildfire were to break out, it would not have as much fuel available and could be managed easier. Loving the videos
