Thanks for the video-I have the 50hp and I’m trying to remove the drive shaft,I removed the nut and pinion gear,but the drive shaft will not come out,do I need to remove the base where the water pump sits on I order to remove the drive shaft,any advice is appreciated
Yes, there is another nut inside that has to come off. You may be able to find a video on lower unit disassembly that explains it a little more clearly.

You might be able to heat the tip of your pliers up and put them in a vice and straighten them up so they close
