SMV thank you!! This has been the best tutorial for me hands down.I have the Iriduim keyboard and I have no complaints about it all. Your attention to detail and patch breakdown is what I needed to help me get a grasp of this instrument. This was fantastic and thank you for showing the screen as well, it’s huge plus. Have a wonderful weekend. I appreciate your time and knowledge. Thanks again for sharing.

Thank you for your great feedback. The Quantum/Iridium are two incredible synths and the user interface is a dream. I hope this video will have a good sharing and comments, because videos like this, take a lot of time 😄

Great tutorial Sergio! It’s really helpful when you show the settings in the mod matrix and then demo the sound resulting from those modulations. I don’t own a Waldorf quantum, but I can apply some of these techniques to sound design on other synths.

Thanks:) Yes, when you understand the basic concepts, you can apply them to other synths. Of course you may have different responses with similar settings. You just have to find the sweet spot you want. About the Quantum, is an incredible synth that sounds great and is the sound designer dream

Thank you man. But I have to say to you that this sound is not in my preset banks. There are 2 videos showing my sound banks for Quantum/Iridium😉

I would like to know how you set up the lfos and other stuffs in sync mode- like 1/8,1/16 and so on...

What do you mean? If i understanding well, in the LFO page there is, on the lower left corner, the sync tab. You need to enable it

Super useful tutorial. One question. Is it possible to use any knob as an input in the mod matrix? I want to have more inputs than then wheel and pitch but seems like I need to use an external midi controller. I know you can use XY as well but its not quite enough for me.

Oh and the music is great!

Thank you. About the mod matrix inputs, i am not sure ( need to check ), but i think that they are what you mentioned. If i am right, but is just a supposition, there are the midi cc ( i don't remember the numbers) and you can assign a knob to a given midi cc. The problem is that the knob is hard wired to control something, so you will move two parameters at the same time. But this is an idea that maybe is wrong. As soon as i can, i will check it.

Just checking on my Quantum. Forget what I replied you. You can assign a knob a midi cc number, but choosing the same cc number from the mod matrix input, it will not work (need to read the manual- maybe they are for external incoming midi cc). Anyway don't forget about aftertouch, the velocity, the keyboard track and the pedal. And don't forget you can use the same source to control multiple parameters ( with pos and neg values ). By the way, as soon I will have time, I will release a video showing how you can change the step sequencer played notes ( not in pitch value, but paused-played steps )
