Great video. Just what I was looking for and a whole lot more. I was just trying to find out how to get my blade to 90 degrees. Now I know how where to go when I need to retune my saw. I was making cabinet doors and noticed a bow in the joints. Took me a minute to realize that the blade was not at 90.

I bought my R4510 second hand and I have cleaned it up nicely (had some rust, particularly on the stand), but unfortunately it is missing the riving knife and assembly (locking knob). I thought I would get a new one from Ridgid or a spare parts retailer, but it appears Ridgid no longer makes the part and the parts retailers all say “no longer available.” Very frustrating. Any thoughts on where I might find a replacement? Thanks again…

I bought one of these used. The blade height moves as the saw runs. I know it has that "locked/unlock" thumbscrew on the front of the height know but when I cinch it down the know still is able to turn and travels when the saw it turned on. I've taken it off but don't understand what it actually does other than screw into the shaft. Any thoughts on how to keep the blade height from traveling?
I would download a parts diagram and check with that. Either something is worn out or missing. The thumb knob binds the assembly from turning, therefore locking the blade height. Thanks for watching.
@@detroitdiy ok. Thanks anyway. I've seen the parts manual. There really isn't anything other than the turn handle to raise the blade, the outer ring to change the angle and the locking knob that screws into the spindle behind them. At least from what I can see in the part diagram.

I use a micro jig splitter with a zero clearance fence, way better than that riving knife.
99.99% of tables saws will not be sitting perfectly level due to the sloped floors they are on. Thus, wouldn't a square be a better (more accurate) method to set the blade at 90 degrees to the table? An angle finder will only set the blade plumb in reference to the earth, with no reference to the table top.
The digital angel finder can be set to zero no matter what the angle actually is.
