Tucker, to get the wind out of the recording, you have to cut the low frequencies. The wind is below 100 and between 100 to about 140 hertz. Cut everything below 100Hz and see what happens, if there is still a strong gust of wind then move on, but be careful as a male voice starts from around 120-130Hz. You can't cut too much or it will be bad. If you are using Adobe Premiere Pro for editing, look for Parametric Equaizer, turn on the High Pass filter and cut the low frequencies. The best for the whole team! :)

Yep, even Ron Pratt of Midwest towing tries to do the same thing. He has a channel here under his name and I believe he does the same with the towing companies too for the same reasons as you.
When they had that huge accident on interstate (I think it was) 57 back in the spring, he was working along side other towing companies on that scene and as he said, it was grueling and tiring due to the sheer amount of cars they had to deal with. He likely had the rotator and several rollbacks on the scene and a Western Star or two, the 'tator and other heavy tows were to pluck cars from the wreck, the rollbacks to haul away as many as they could, but I think due to the distance, likely could only do a few at a time.
He didn't film it for various reasons, and one was likely it had deaths involved, but it did make the news, which is how I found out about it, not living in the area.

For what it is worth here... I don't do offroad recovery but I do tow a lot with a rollback. I have done so in Incident Management and Consent Tow and I still have my IM license. Every vehicle has proper recovery points, frame hooks, but they are not always accessible by any means. When you deal with vehicles lost in the sand people need to remember that you cannot magically scoop out all of the sand to get to that quirky little frame hook on that toyota, for example. What the vast majority of us would do in IM is just use a big j-hook v bridle on our winches and just grab the axles or something sturdy. Also, a lot of vehicles frame hooks are behind the tires, which I am 100% sure would run into issues with you pulling them out. That being said though, you use shackles rather than mini j's or t hooks. Anyone that complains about the way y'all recover is just being silly

Matt you are absolutely right about the tow points. Tow points if they exist on modern vehicles are not meant for recovery, they are meant to secure a vehicle to a flatbed tow truck. The screw in tow hooks if you can find them are only to pull a free rolling vehicle onto a flatbed. They have been known to break and I’m sure that’s why I’ve never seen you use one 👍👍

Hey Matt first I’d like to say after watching you guys for as long as I have I consider myself to be also a recovery expert. That being said when I pull a car with no recovery points from the sand forward or back I like to run my “Matt’s off road recovery rope” through the passenger compartment lower the windows and just run that sucker right around the pillars. So far I’ve pulled 3 cars out no problem but we’re still waiting for the estimate from Robby as to when we’ll be able to close the windows. You guys are great and I look forward to watching your work. I’ve never questioned anything I’ve seen you do and I appreciate the fact you’re a really good guy.

That kinetic rope principle I found out about while jump starting on a single water ski with my wife driving the tow boat!
I bought a really pricey tow rope. While she idled out I took 3 loops of rope in my left hand and when the boat pulled tight I yelled hit it while tossing the coils in the air and just as the rope starts to pull? You step on to the ski from there it's indescribable the acceleration as its like a rubber band and all that stored up energy just smoothly transfers into accelerating you to speed!
No strain on your joints. No Being a submarine while the boat pul!s you up!
    I was young (early 30's) and weighed 165 pounds. I was wirery! 6' 1"

Guy in a newer Mitsubishi suv drove into a culvert by my house last week, wasn’t terribly stuck but not all the tires were on the ground and it’s AWD system was useless. Hey Matt, on that corolla, the recovery point is a little plastic cap (about 1-1/4 inch across) that you pry out of the bumper cover and in the trunk is a rod with a loop on one side and threads to screw into the hole on the other. Almost every recent car on the road has these now instead of the "visible" ones older cars had under their bumpers. They are way more practical; no need to dig under the car to get to them...
