Just purchased a new Laptop for the wife. It has Win 11 already installed. Since she is computer illiterate, now I know how to go about making things a little easier for her. Thanks TG! Happy Holidays!! 👍👍😉😉
@@StickCoach So much negativity in replies lately. I remember when people were kind and helpful. We all began from square one at one time.

7:50 I find it kind of interesting how the legacy windows like this survive but get more and more buried. The Explorer Options has probably been there since XP.
Great video. Didn't know Windows 11 had so many useful features. On a side note, your comment around 9:05 about all-in-one desktops grabbed my attention. I had one for five years and lots of problems including the touchscreen not working after a couple of years. It finally crashed completely which is why I had to get a new computer with Windows 11.
I kind of like Windows 11, I am, was a MacOS user, and had to make the move to this OS, because there is no Revit for Mac. Yeah, I know you can Run Windows with the Bootcamp app, but it doesn’t run on the M1 Macs.
The snapping system is nowhere near close to my zones design. But it is nice they improved it a bit... I don't like that you can't resize the taskbar and you can't move it.. On my top monitor I have a 3 cell tall bar on the top, and on my bottom main monitor I have it on the bottom 2 cells tall... The main monitor has a secondary taskbar so my top non-primary monitor has the primary taskbar so I have a quick overview while in full-screen applications, etc.. and I don't have to alt-tab or minimize the application to view that stuff... Also, I've tried using the bar on the bottom on the top monitor but that caused a ton of bugs while moving apps between monitors, moving the mouse up / down, and more... having them split top and bottom allows for a wider viewing area unobstructed by a break. So being unable to do that in 11 makes it less accessible. Also, getting rid of never combine is REALLY stupid... This is a major accessibility requirement and a lot of apps use similar icons which can make it hard to differentiate them - especially if you have a lot of file explorers open. I absolutely hate you can't reposition the taskbar, and it doesn't seem like you can add quick-launch folders on them anymore... I have 6 or 7 quick launch folders on my primary taskbar which is located on my secondary / non-main monitor by moving the main taskbar off the main monitor after setting the main monitor... They range from game launchers, dev tools, hardware utilities, authentication apps, and more... and I need quick access... The start menu really restricts this and not being able to categorize them makes finding apps much harder and limiting the screen by cutting it in half for a stupid recommended segment which violates privacy ( you can turn that recent files trash off in 10 ) and security which will be a turn off for certain companies. They removed so many features which I rely upon for efficiency and ease of use for a broken neck, back and nerve damage. Having larger buttons for the never combine helps me on top of being able to easily read what something is instead of relying on an icon which may be shared.
The volume mixer seems like it is too much... The Windows 10 dialog is a lot more handy and contains a bar for each program and doesn't block a large majority of the desktop..
So many people don't use Edge that they wanted to make it more annoying to switch from it, this will probably help boost the numbers albeit a back-alley way to do it...
That default web browser is a real pain in the neck. I also don't like how you can't have everything showing in the taskbar by default. You have to enable them. Other than those two issues I mostly like Windows 11. One thing I don't have issues with is this wonderful video. Please keep up the good work TechGumbo.
Hi TechGumbo, A feature you didn't show is in notepad you can voice command by pressing windows key + H and changing setting next to microphone and auto punctuation and auto launcher if you want to.
I am fixing to upgrade to 11, I think, I am trying to find out if I can still have my own pictures on the desktops. I have dual monitors. I am not sure what to do. I have 4 years.
So, here's what I've wanted to ask. I know that we can roll back to Win10 on 10 days after the update, but how many times can we do this? For example, my first time experience with the upgrade doesn't do it justice for me so I decided to go back to Win10. And then a few months later, I've decided to try Win11 again to see if things are better now. But it turns out things are still not up to my standard, can I rollback again as long as I am still on the 10 days grace period? Can I do it again and again from time to time?
Are you saying you would suggest we wait to upgrade? I have the offer popped up on my desktop. I have to decline or accept. I am not sure if I decline if I will get the offer again. I think on an old system when I first changed to win 10 I was offered a few times. I think of think I want to wait.
windows 11 is good but i wish they would let us remove the recommended part of the start menu, that way when you open up start menu you see all of your pinned apps plus quick buttons for settings downloads and shutdown etc
To see if your pc/laptop will support win 11 go on settings find windows updates and if it has a green tick and says compatible for w11 download it by pressing install.
enjoed your content was helpful as an intouction to win 11 but made it hard to follow with all the adds would have been nicer if it flowed a bit more thanks
Thanks for you videos. They were very helpful to get started with windows 11. ... There is just one issue I don't like in Windows 11. In Windows 11 I could drop a file on an open program on my task bar. It seems in Windows 11 It's not possibly to take a document, move it to an open program and drop it into this program. Now I have to keep holding the file with my mouse and switch with the TAB Key to the program I want to drop the file. I really hope they will change it some when.
@@idaxius_ I can do it. I'm using it. I move my mouse with the file I like to open or edit over the opened app on the task bar.
